Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The System Awakens

For the first few years of my second life, patience became my greatest weapon. I couldn't crawl, speak, or cast yet, but I could plan.

Minzy didn't disappoint. By the time I could toddle without falling over, she had quietly recruited a small army of elves—displaced servants from old pure-blood families who had fallen into ruin after the war. They swore loyalty to the House of Potter, to me.While the world believed the Girl Who Lived was being raised by ordinary Muggles, my hidden household thrived beneath notice.

Every night, after the Dursleys' lights went out, Minzy slipped me into the secret space she'd built under my bedroom. Shelf after shelf of my parents' rescued books lined the walls—transfiguration, duelling, ancient runes, and even darker tomes James had probably hidden from Lily.

Tonight my tiny hands reached for a slim, black-bound volume: Legilimency and Occlumency: The Mind Arts.

I could feel the faint thrum of the Horcrux lodged somewhere behind my scar. If I wanted any peace—or survival—I needed to protect my mind.

Hours blurred as I studied the text, whispering each line under my breath. The theory came easily. Meditation, emotional control, the mental image of a fortress… it all felt instinctive, as if I'd done this before.

And then—

Bing!

A sound that did not belong in this quiet house rang in my head.

System Activated.Multiple-Choice System online. When the host reaches a major decision point, options will appear. Rewards are granted based on the chosen path.

I froze. This wasn't Occlumency. This was something entirely new.

Another chime.

Ding!Choice Detected:1️⃣ Accept your current fate and live tormented under the Dursleys. (System will deactivate.)2️⃣ Change your fate, learn magic early, and shape your destiny. (Reward: Lily Potter's Magical Talent.)

My heart—or rather, my very small, childish version of one—hammered in my chest. A game-like system, bound to my soul? Either some cosmic joke or a gift from whatever power had sent me here.

The decision wasn't even difficult.

"I choose number two," I whispered.

Light burst behind my eyes—soft, warm, and alive. For a heartbeat I swore I heard Lily's laughter, saw a memory that wasn't mine: a woman twirling her wand, petals spinning through the air.

Then it faded, leaving me trembling and breathless.

Ding!Choice confirmed.Reward granted: Inherited Talent—Lily Potter's Magical Aptitude.Affinity bonus unlocked: Charms + Occlumency.

I lay back, staring at the ceiling, my thoughts racing. The system had called it change your fate. That was exactly what I intended to do.
