Chapter 49 - End of The War -2

Whitebeard didn't even watch them go. His attention was fixed on Blackbeard with absolute focus, with a rage so pure it made his Conqueror's Haki flare and knock down everyone within a hundred feet who wasn't strong enough to withstand it.

"TEACH!" His voice shook the air itself. "You killed Thatch! You betrayed your family! You handed Ace to the marines! Now you'll answer for every sin you've committed!"

He charged across the ice, each step creating massive cracks, his entire body radiating fury. The month of restored youth Kokabiel had given him burned away rapidly under the strain, but he didn't care.

Blackbeard's grin widened, though his eyes showed hints of concern. "ZEHAHAHAHA! Come on then, Old man! Let's see if the world's strongest man can beat the power of darkness itself!"

He raised both hands, and darkness erupted around him like a living entity. "Black Hole!"

The darkness spread across the ice in a massive circle, creating a gravitational field that pulled everything toward its center. Pirates caught on the edges screamed as they were dragged in, their bodies crushed by the immense pressure, absorbed into the black void.

Whitebeard charged straight through it, his Haki creating a protective barrier that resisted the pull. His bisento came down in a devastating overhead strike that would have split a mountain.

Blackbeard caught it with both hands coated in darkness. "Nullification!"

The Yami Yami no Mi's primary ability activated instantly. Devil Fruit powers ceased to function on contact, the darkness nullified them completely.

The tremor energy coating Whitebeard's bisento vanished, making it just a physical blade. The earthquakes rumbling through the ground stopped.

"ZEHAHAHAHA! Your devil fruits power is useless against me!" Blackbeard's grin was triumphant, crazed. "I'm your natural counter, Pops! The Yami Yami no Mi makes me your worst nightmare!"

"Then I'll kill you without it!" Whitebeard's fist, coated in pure Armament Haki and augmented with Conqueror Haki, slammed into Blackbeard's face with the force of a meteor.

CRACK!

The impact was catastrophic. Blackbeard's head snapped back so hard his neck should have broken. Blood erupted from his nose and mouth. Several teeth flew out. He was driven backward across the ice, his feet carving deep trenches.

But his abnormal body constitution kept him conscious. The Yami Yami no Mi's curse, that it attracted pain and damage rather than avoiding it, meant he felt every ounce of that punch. But it also meant his body was built to endure what would kill normal people.

"ARGHHHH! THAT HURT!" Blackbeard's scream was genuine pain and rage mixed. Blood poured down his face. "THAT REALLY HURT! But I can take it! I can take anything! ZEHAHAHAHA!"

Whitebeard's crew moved to support him, but Whitebeard's killing intent stopped them cold.

"Stay back!" Whitebeard's voice boomed with authority that even enemies respected. He turned to his remaining commanders, his sons who were still fighting Blackbeard's crew. His expression softened despite the battle.

"All of you! Stop fighting and return to the New World! Now! That's the final order from your captain!"

"Pops, NO!" Marco's voice cracked completely, his phoenix flames flickering with distress. "We're not leaving you! We're not abandoning you to die here!"

"You're not abandoning me!" Whitebeard's smile was gentle, filled with love. "You're obeying your captain's final order! There's a difference!"

He looked at each of his commanders, his sons, his family. Tears streamed down his weathered face, but his smile never wavered.

"Listen to me, all of you." His voice carried across the battlefield, reaching every Whitebeard Pirate. "There's no ship left in this new era that can carry me forward. My erais over. But you my sons, every single one of you, you're the future. You'll carry on when I'm gone. I am proud of you."

"Pops..." Jozu's voice broke. The diamond commander was crying openly, tears streaming down his transformed face.

"Being your father..." Whitebeard's voice was thick with emotion now. "Watching you all grow from lost children into strong men and women... those were the happiest days of my life. I have no regrets about anything. Let me be the wave that carry you to the new era, my children. GURARARARA."

"Pops, Please don't do this!" Vista was sobbing. "We need you! We can't lose you now!"

"You're not losing me." Whitebeard's smile widened. "I'll always be with you. In your hearts. In your memories. That's what it means to be family."

"Now GO!" His roar shook the air. "That's an ORDER from your FATHER! OBEY ME ONE LAST TIME, MY SONS!"

The commanders stood frozen, tears streaming, unable to move despite the order.

"Marco." Whitebeard's voice became gentle again, addressing his first son. "Take care of your brothers. Help Ace become a good leader. Keep the family together. Live safe and free. That's all I ask."

Marco's voice came out strangled, barely a whisper. "We love you, Pops. We'll never forget you."

"And I love all of you, my sons." Whitebeard's tears fell freely now. "Now go. Make me proud one last time."

The Whitebeard Pirates began retreating, many of them sobbing openly. They fought through Marine lines not with fury but with grief, protecting each other, honoring their father's final wish.

Sengoku watched the scene, his own eyes moist despite being their enemy. He raised his hand and gave the order that surprised every Marine present.

"All forces! Do not pursue the Whitebeard Pirates! Let them take their father's body when this is over! Focus all efforts on Blackbeard and his crew! That's a direct order from your Fleet Admiral!"

Sengoku relaized Whatbeard was choosing to die here. And with his death, marine's can somewhat restore their image. He didn't care if the Gorosei would scold him for it later.

Marines hesitated, confused, but obeyed. They shifted their attention to Blackbeard's forces, surrounding them.

Garp moved toward Douglas Bullet, his expression serious. "You're free again, you brat. Let me send back to your cell. "

Bullet grinned, blood still on his fists from killing the two commanders. "Garp the Fist. I've wanted this fight for decades ever since Roger died. Let's see if the legend lives up to the reputation!"

They charged each other. When their fists met, the shockwave knocked down everyone within fifty feet.

Aokiji created massive ice walls around Shiryu and Burgess, trapping them in a labyrinth of frozen barriers. "Arara, you two look quite dangerous. Better keep you contained where I can see you."

Shiryu's blade cut through the ice with Haki-enhanced strikes, but Aokiji simply created more walls. Burgess's raw strength shattered entire sections, but the Admiral's devil fruit was relentless.

Kizaru appeared in front of Patrick Redfield in a flash of light, his usual lazy expression sharpened. "You look quite spry for someone who should be ancient~ That fruit must be quite convenient."

Redfield snarled, showing his vampire fangs. "A gift I intend to make full use of. Care to test it?"

They engaged at speeds that made them blur, light against darkness, both moving so fast the human eye couldn't track them properly.

The rest of Blackbeard's crew fought desperately against Vice Admirals and Marine Captains, but without their strongest members free to help, they were being overwhelmed slowly.

Only Blackbeard remained, facing Whitebeard alone.

And Whitebeard was dying.

His body was failing rapidly now. The month of restored youth Kokabiel had given him was burning away under the strain of continuous battles at maximum power. His hair, still partially golden minutes ago, was turning white strand by strand, the color draining like sand through an hourglass.

His breathing became labored. Each strike took more effort. Blood poured from dozens of wounds—both old injuries reopening and new ones accumulating.

But he kept fighting. Kept pressing forward. Kept driving Blackbeard back with pure Haki and an iron will that refused to break.

"ZEHAHAHAHA! You're dying, Old man! That power must be a short term boost! Without it, you are weak and frail !" Blackbeard's voice was strained but triumphant. Blood still poured from his broken nose and missing teeth, but he was grinning. "Just give up! Fall down! Let me have your power peacefully and I'll make sure your sons survive!"

"Blackbeard!" Whitebeard's fist connected with Blackbeard's face one more time. The younger pirate was sent flying, crashing into the ice hard enough to create a crater. "I have still enough strengh to smash your skull! If I don't kill you here, you'd hunt them down!"

Blackbeard pulled himself from the crater, battered and bloody but conscious. "ZEHAHAHAHA... Maybe you're right, Pops. Maybe I would. But You can't defeat me with your current state."

Whitebeard took a step forward, then his legs gave out.

He dropped to one knee, his bisento the only thing keeping him from collapsing completely. His breathing was ragged gasps now, each one painful. Blood dripped from his mouth, his nose, his ears.

His hair finished turning completely white. The golden glow of restored youth faded entirely, leaving behind an old man at the absolute end of his strength, held together by nothing but willpower.

The injuries that Kokabiel had healed was gone, true. But the decades of strain, the accumulated damage from a lifetime of battles, the price of being the world's strongest man, all of it crashed down at once.

Edward Newgate was dying, and everyone knew it.

But even now, even with death claiming him, he refused to fall backward. He planted Murakumogiri deep into the ice and pushed himself upright with sheer force of will.

He stood. Defiant. Unbroken even in death. The strongest man in the world, refusing to die on his knees, refusing to show his back to anyone.

With a final burst of strength, he unleashed his ultimate attack. "World Breaker!"

Blackbeard screamed as depite the nullification, the shockwave alone was enough to burst his eardrums and break his bones. This was the final attack from the world's strongest man, Whitebeard. The enitre crew was sent hurling back crashing into the ruined buildings. Marines nearby were also blown away before Aokiji raised an Ice wall to shield them.

Whitebeard looked across the water at his ships, at his sons who'd almost reached them one last time. They were watching, tears streaming down every face. He smiled at them—gentle, proud, filled with pure love.

Then he turned to face the world, toward the broadcast Den Den Mushi still recording everything, toward the millions watching across the globe.

"GURARARA! So this my end, huh? Can't say I mind it. Now let me do one final act to shake the world."

With his final breath, with his last ounce of strength, Edward Newgate smiled that same smile Roger had worn on the execution platform and shouted the words that would change everything:

"GURARARA! ALL OF YOU WATCHING THIS, LET ME TELL YOU ONE FINAL TRUTH!"

Sengoku wanted to stop him. "Wait!"

But the declaration came anyway.

"THE ONE PIECE, IS REAL!"

The words echoed across Marineford, across the ocean, across the world through broadcast.

People watching in their homes, in bars, on ships, in palaces—they all heard it. They witnessed the final act of Yonko WHitebeard. And they understood what it meant.

The treasure Roger left behind existed. The One Piece was real. The dreams were real. Everything was possible.

The world erupted into chaos. Pirates cheered and immediately began planning voyages. Citizens gasped, some with excitement, some with fear. Marines paled, knowing what this would mean for the world's stability.

Edward Newgate's final words had just sparked the greatest age of piracy the world would ever see. The world was about to change forever.

Then his eyes closed. His breathing stopped. His heart beat one final time and went silent.

The strongest man in the world died standing up, smiling, surrounded by enemies but victorious in his final act.

The whitebeard pirates cried as they watched their father pass away with a smile.

****

But before they could take him away, Blackbeard pulled himself from the rubble, battered beyond belief but alive. He saw Whitebeard's still form and despite his injuries, he grinned.

"ZEHAHAHAHA... You're finally dead, Pops. It didn't go according to plan, but i won! And now..." His eyes gleamed with crazed ambition. "Your power becomes mine!"

His remaining crew gathered around him, creating a barrier with a large black cloth that hid what was happening from view.

Inside that darkness, Blackbeard used his devil fruit's unique properties. The Yami Yami no Mi had many abilities, and one of them, was the power to extract Devil Fruits from recently deceased users.

Darkness enveloped Whitebeard's corpse. Black tendrils sank into the body, seeking, pulling, extracting.

The Gura Gura no Mi materialized in Blackbeard's hand. A strange pear shaped fruit covered in swirls, pulsing with barely contained power.

"FINALLY!" Blackbeard's voice was manic with victory as he threw the curtains away. "Finally! The world's strongest Paramecia fruit is mine! The power to destroy the world itself! This new era belongs to Marshall D. Teach! Zehahahaha!"

He raised the Devil Fruit to his mouth, already tasting his triumph.

Suddenly, a loud abnoxious voice was heard through the plaza.

"Steeeeeaaaaaalllll!"

With a flash, the devil fruit vanished from his hand. He bit into empty air.

Blackbeard froze. Stared at his empty palm in complete disbelief as he blinked confusedly. His brain struggled to process what had just happened. "What?! Where did it go!"

On the execution platform far across the plaza, Kazuma held the Gura Gura no Mi, grinning smigly like he'd just won the lottery.

"Thanks for pulling it out for me, asshole! I didn't think I'd gain an unexpected loot." He boasted without care.

Complete silence fell across Marineford.

Marines stared. Pirates stared. Even Sengoku's mouth hung open slightly.

"Did that fucker just..." Jin Woo's voice trailed off in disbelief.

"He did," Klein confirmed, torn between admiration and laughter at the audacity. "His timing and luck is impeccable I must say."

"Oh Kazuma, you are just a treat." Yoruichi was laughing despite the situation.

Robin covered her mouth, her eyes wide. "Kazuma, did you seriously steal that devil fruit?!"

Kazuma looked at the Devil Fruit in his hand, then at the stunned crowd, then shrugged. "Fuck it. If I'm gonna be strong in my world, might as well go all in, right? GURARA... Eh, doesn't suit me. Say hello to the new strongest man in the world, the great Kazuma sama!"

He bit into the fruit.

His face immediately scrunched up in pure disgust. "Oh FUCK that's horrible! It tastes like literal shit mixed with rotten garbage and despair! I thought they exaggarated the taste, but it's even worse!"

But he kept eating, forcing it down despite gagging violently with each bite. His friends burst into laughter at his expressions, the tension finally breaking.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Blackbeard's scream echoed across all of Marineford, raw with fury and disbelief. "THAT WAS MINE! I EARNED IT! I PLANNED FOR YEARS! THAT POWER WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MINE!"

Kazuma swallowed the last disgusting piece, gagged one more time, then flipped Blackbeard off with both middle fingers.

"Earned it?! You betrayed and murdered your crewmate for that fruit! You attacked your own captain while he was dying! If anyone didn't earn shit, it's you! "

He paused, then grinned. "So from the bottom of my heart; fuck you, fuck your plans, and fuck your entire existence!" He sighed and patted his chest. "man, that was satisfying."

Jin Wo smirked. "You do know if he attacks you, we'll not save your ass?"

Kazuma raised his nose and spoke arrogantly. "Humph! Don't underestimate me you bastard! Now I can even smash your shadows!"

Jin Wo cracked his knuckles. "I'd like to see you try."

Blackbeard's face turned purple with absolute rage. Darkness erupted around him as he started moving toward the platform, murder in his eyes.

His crew grabbed him physically, holding him back. "Captain, we need to retreat!" Van Augur's calm voice was strained. "We're surrounded! Half our crew is captured! We can get revenge later!"

"I'LL KILL YOU!" Blackbeard's voice was raw, broken. "I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH! I'LL TAKE THAT POWER AND YOUR LIFE! I SWEAR IT ON MY DREAMS!"

"Then come find me!" Kazuma shouted back, his earlier caution forgotten in the moment. "I'll be waiting! And when you show up, I'll beat your ass so hard you'll wish you'd stayed in whatever shithole you crawled out of!"

He smirked knowing after he leaves the world , Blackbeard can't do shit to him.

"We're leaving NOW!" Shiryu had broken free from Aokiji's ice, battered but mobile. He grabbed Blackbeard's arm. "Captain! We survive to fight another day!"

The Blackbeard Pirates fought their way to their ship in desperate chaos, their captain screaming threats the entire way. They barely made it aboard before Marine forces could surround them completely.

Their ship sailed away, Blackbeard standing at the rail, still screaming promises of vengeance at Kazuma until they were out of sight. Marine ships chased after him.

Silence fell across the battlefield once the ship disappeared.

Then Sengoku's voice rang out, tired but authoritative. "All Marines. The war is officially over. Stand down. Tend to the wounded. Let the Whitebeard Pirates collect their captan's ."

He turned toward the execution platform, toward the strange group who'd somehow ended up at the center of everything. "And someone escort those people down here. We need to have a conversation."

****

A golden flash of light announced Kokabiel's return. He materialized on the platform beside his companions, his twelve star-filled wings folding behind him. The chat group members already got the notification of mission completion minutes ago, so they knew it was finally over.

"Welcome back Kokabiel," Youruichi appeared beside him with a flash, examining him "Looks like you solved the matter without breaking a sweat."

He smiled softly. "I'm back."

He then looked at Kazuma holding his stomach. "Did I miss something interesting?"

"Kazuma stole Whitebeard's devil fruit from Blackbeard," Jin Woo reported, grinning.

"And ate it while flipping him off," Klein added.

"While calling him an asshole," Yoruichi finished, still laughing.

Kokabiel looked at Kazuma, who was still recovering from the taste. A small smile crossed his face. "Well done Kazuma. That fruit will serve you far better than it would have served him. The Gura Gura no Mi in the hands of someone like you is infinitely preferable to it in Blackbeard's possession."

Sengoku approached the base of the platform, looking up at them. His Buddha form was dismissed now, leaving just a tired old man who'd seen too much today. "I need to know something. Who are you people? And Whose side are you guys on? Are you enemies of the World Government and Marines?"

Kokabiel met his eyes calmly. "We're not on anyone's side, Fleet Admiral Sengoku. We were simply passing by and saw a problem that needed addressing."

"The attack on Mary Geoise." It wasn't a question. "That was you."

"Yes. I did it" Kokabiel's voice was completely matter-of-fact. "Hundreds of disgusting humans, the so called Celestial Dragons died in the process, yes. But thousands of slaves were freed. Entire families that had been tortured for generations got their freedom. I consider that an acceptable trade."

Sengoku's jaw tightened, but he didn't argue the point. He couldn't, really, not after seeing that transformation of the God Knights. "And now? What are your intentions?"

"We will be leaving this place now."

Kokabiel's expression became more serious. "But understand this clearly, Fleet Admiral Sengoku. If the World Government continues their practices, if they continue enslaving innocents and enabling monsters to rule, we might return. And next time, we won't be as gentle as I was today."

he then added. "Also, anyone who attacks Robin, attacks me. And I don't respond well to attacks as you have seen."

Robin smiled warmly hearing it. Kazuma clicked his tongue. "Damn handsome bastard aura farming without trying!"

The threat was crystal clear. Sengoku nodded slowly, understanding the weight behind those words. "I'll... pass that message along to my superiors. Along with my recommendation that they take it seriously."

"Good." Kokabiel smiled slightly. "Now, if you'll excuse us, we have a celebration to attend. We've earned it, I think."

He raised his hand, golden light enveloping the entire group. They vanished from the platform, teleporting away, leaving behind a confused Fleet Admiral and a destroyed battlefield.

****

They materialized on the Thousand Sunny's deck. The Straw Hats and Ace, who'd been anxiously waiting for news, jumped in surprise.

"Robin!" Luffy's face split into his characteristic massive grin. "You're back! And you brought everyone!" He paused, noticing their expressions. "Did we win? Is the war over? Man I wanted to fight some strong guys!"

"We're fine, Luffy." Robin smiled warmly. "Everything worked out. We are safe for now."

"Then it's time to PARTY!" Luffy's grin somehow got even wider. "SANJI! Make ALL the food! We're celebrating! Let's throw a proper party for Robin's friends." He was smacking Kokabiel's back without a care and grinned, ignoring the fact he could erase him with a single thought.

Kokabiel looked mildly amused. "You really are one of a kind."

"On it!" Sanji was already heading to the kitchen, his mind planning a feast worthy of the occasion. "This'll be the best meal I've ever made!"

Usopp and Chopper immediately started decorating the deck with whatever they could find. Brook began playing a lively tune on his violin. Franky broke out his stash of cola, already planning a "SUPER" toast.

Ace looked at the group who'd saved him. These strange, powerful people who'd fought the strongest beings in the seas and won. "Thank you. All of you. For everything. I don't know how to repay this. You will always be friend to me and the Whitebeard pirates."

Kokabiel placed a hand on his shoulder gently. "You don't need to repay anything, Portgas D. Ace. Just live. Live the life your brother fought a war to save. Live the life your father died to protect. That's payment enough."

"I will," Ace promised, his voice thick with emotion. "I swear it. I won't waste this second chance."

As the party preparations kicked into full gear, as the Straw Hats celebrated survival and friendship, the sun began setting over the ocean.

The war was over. Whitebeard had died standing, his final words reshaping the world. Ace was saved, alive and free. The eldritch corruption was purged from this reality.

And six strangers from other worlds prepared to say their goodbyes, knowing they'd made a real difference here.

The One Piece world would never be the same.
