Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: The Path of Trials 3: Survivor

The sky, too, became overcast in the blink of an eye, and a fierce wind, carrying a torrential downpour, soaked the locals' headscarves and drenched the streets.

In an instant, the entire street transformed into a land of water.

Even though Higashikata Josuke had thrown the opponent away in time, a thick layer of water still bound his hand, eventually forming a ball of water that he tried to tear apart but couldn't.

The water ball, however, remained motionless like a living thing, instead spreading up his arm, attempting to completely engulf him.

Behind the man who had been thrown, a layer of water film appeared, filled with gas, like an air cushion that supported him, allowing him to bounce only twice without injury.

Higashikata Josuke's expression, as he struggled with the water ball, became calm; he even had the leisure to flick the water ball, feeling its jelly-like undulations, watching it slowly climb upwards.

"Great! Is this your ability? To bind through water? This water is strong and tricky. Will I eventually suffocate in this ball of water?

But it's useless! Crazy Diamond, Dorarararara!"

Crazy Diamond unleashed a flurry of punches on the water ball, instantly sending it backward, floating in the air, and then re-entering the ordinary man's body.

"My Crazy Diamond can restore anything. Since this ball of water came from inside you, I can make it go back."

Josuke's expression was calm. After shaking off the tension, for Crazy Diamond, this kind of materialized attack was easy to deal with; as long as it wasn't instantly fatal, he could revert it.

"Josuke, don't touch him again. His ability seems to be related to contact. This water isn't right either; this rainwater doesn't seem like normal water, more like some kind of viscous fluid."

Jotaro caught some rainwater, dipped his finger in it, and rubbed it, but it didn't feel like water. Unlike the formless plasticity of water, this substance was incredibly viscous and also had a certain elasticity. He frowned, took a step back, and avoided the accumulation of rainwater.

"These viscous fluids are very similar to water, but they're more like some kind of living creature."

"Ah, Mr. Jotaro, I won't touch him again. How about I just fuse him into a rock?"

Josuke responded, cracking his knuckles, glaring menacingly at the man he had slammed to the ground. Behind him, the dark Crazy Diamond also clenched his fists, the black knuckles glinting coldly, but the man merely sneered.

"Hey, fuse me? Do you think you still have a chance?"

Wiping away the blood foam from the corner of his mouth, his cracked gums bled crimson in the rain. "You damn brat, you hit me really hard! You really made me angry!"

Seeing the opponent's mocking expression, Josuke grew inexplicably angrier the more he thought about it. Without a word, he punched the opponent directly in the face, and it wasn't Crazy Diamond, but his own fist.

This blow was devoid of any technique, yet it carried pure savagery; no skill, just raw emotion.

"Shut up, you bastard! As a villainous bad guy, you should be prepared to shut your mouth! You bastard!"

That fierce punch landed directly on the opponent's face, breaking two of his teeth and making him spit blood, even dispersing the thick layer of viscous fluid.

But instead of getting angry, the opponent propped himself up from the ground, burst into maniacal laughter, and at the same time, the scattered viscous fluid caught Josuke's hand, forming a new rope that prevented him from escaping.

Labura was somewhat disheveled at this point, a heavy punch mark on his face, and two teeth flying out of his mouth had created two holes, allowing one to see his gums and blood through the wounds.

But his eyes grew brighter and brighter, and a thick layer of watery clothing appeared on his body.

"Hey, kid, that punch, you hit me really hard, I can see—your arm contains beast-like power! Come on, let's fight with flesh and blood!"

And without another word, he pulled Josuke over with the rope and punched Higashikata Josuke in the stomach. Higashikata Josuke parried the blow with his left hand and instinctively threw an uppercut back, pushing the opponent back a step.

An unidentifiable anger grew stronger and stronger, making him want to beat this guy up. Crazy Diamond threw another punch, sending the rope back to Labura, and the muscles on his body emitted a metallic screech, making Higashikata Josuke bare his teeth in a savage grin.

The gentleness of the past seemed to have vanished, the power of a survivor had silently crept into his heart, and he couldn't suppress the violence he had always kept hidden.

"Hmph! Just as I like it! Bastard!"

"Hey, Josuke, are you okay? Do you need my help? I think this guy also deserves a beating. I don't know why, but seeing him just makes me feel annoyed."

Koichi and Okuyasu, behind him, had also approached at some point. They stopped observing their surroundings and instead began to roll up their sleeves, wanting to join the fight.

And the man opposite, seeing this, wasn't afraid. Water streams converged behind him into two arms, looking incredibly solid and filled with explosive power.

"Hey, since you're here, come at me together, you three. I've seen the strongest parts of your bodies. Take this punch! Steak Head!"

"He's really underestimating me! I'll do it myself!"

Watching the opponent charge, Josuke's eyebrows twitched, his hair grew fuller and more voluminous, and behind him, a faint red rage seemed to ignite. Crazy Diamond's heavy hook punch slammed towards the opponent's jaw.

The viscous, yet incredibly fast, water-formed punches rained down, directly deflecting Crazy Diamond's punch, and then closing in, grazing Josuke's punch and directly shattering a large section of bricks on the ground.

The terrifying power forced Josuke to go head-to-head with the opponent to avoid being hit. 'It doesn't matter, my close combat is my strong suit!'

However, unexpectedly, the two were evenly matched, and the opponent's strength even pushed Josuke back a few steps; the opponent's close combat was actually stronger than his! And after a few punches, Josuke felt inexplicably weak all over.

His speed began to slow, and he gradually became covered in strands of viscous fluid. He could feel his life force gradually draining away, his speed becoming slower and slower, just like a wild dog infested with millions of fleas.

The opponent, however, grew faster, directly punching Crazy Diamond in the stomach, breaking several of his ribs and sending Josuke flying backward, almost crashing into the wall behind him.

Fortunately, Okuyasu had been watching him and directly pulled him over with a wave of his hand, successfully catching him.

"Hey, Josuke, are you okay, you idiot!"

"I told you we should fight together! You rest on the side for now, watch me slice this sticky stuff into pieces!"

As Okuyasu spoke, his fighting spirit swelled even more. As his palm sliced through the air, it emitted buzzing sounds. He directly threw Josuke to the ground, then walked forward with a savage grin, heading towards the guy who seemed to be waiting for his next opponent.

But Josuke, with a backhand punch, slammed Okuyasu in the lower back! His eyes were bloodshot. "Stop meddling! You brainless idiot! Anyone who dares to hinder me from saving my parents... even if it's a comrade, I'll still beat them without hesitation!"

Okuyasu spat out a mouthful of old blood and collapsed to the ground. Josuke didn't stop, directly kicking him away.

"Hey, I told you, that's my opponent! This is a lesson, now get to the side and watch obediently! No matter who it is, I will defeat him! Even if it means killing him!!!"

"Hey, Josuke, what are you doing? Why are you hitting Okuyasu? He just helped you."

Koichi couldn't help but take two steps back. "Josuke, what are you doing? Why are you hitting Okuyasu! He was helping you..."

Koichi's Echoes ACT3 froze in mid-air. Josuke's pompadour bristled like an angry lion, his rage almost visibly palpable. Josuke merely glared back at Koichi, making him swallow hard and feel a chill of fear.

"Shut up! Who asked for his help? If you say another word, I'll beat you too! I'm still very angry right now! It's like someone insulted my hair!"

The man opposite, however, was in no hurry to act. Watching the three people repeatedly squabbling among themselves, he couldn't help but smile, his grin widening.

Even the teeth he had just lost didn't seem to hurt as much. He even seized the opportunity, while the opponents were arguing, to mock and instigate them by grabbing their hair.

"Hey, your name is Higashikata Josuke, right? You're right, they are insulting your hair. Has no one told you that your hair is very outdated and very ugly?

It's just like... a pile of dried cow dung. Look, they're all laughing at you too. Haven't you noticed all this time? You disgusting young fossil! You outdated guy, what a stupid idiot."

"Hey, what are you saying? Say that again! You goddamn... try saying that again?"

The next second, a dark, glowing fist slammed directly into his face, but it was blocked by a hand—Star Platinum's hand.

"Calm down, Josuke. Haven't you noticed yet? This bastard is deliberately provoking your violent tendencies. You already have a lot of viscous fluid on you."
