Chapter 5 - RESUMPTION

Amelia's POV

It was the day of resumption. I had gone through the letter of acceptance several times these previous weeks. It was boring, me being in the house with nothing to do except studying my worn out books. I'm pretty excited and positive about this day. I took a taxi going to the college and I alighted at the gate of the school. I was worried that the ugly scenario that happened the last time would happen again but thankfully, it didn't. I got into the school and whenever people noticed me passing by, they would point fingers and laugh. I was quite embarrassed but wasn't shaken. I won't let some snotty kids ruin my opportunity to a better life. I'm not familiar with the place as the examination venue was off the campus the other time I was around. I was perplexed on what to do when a brunette approached me, "Hi, I'm Stacey, the school's tour guide. Where do you wish to go?". "Oh thanks, I'm Amelia, a freshman and scholarship student, I would like to go to the Administration Office to complete my registration". "Ok, no problems, you can follow me". She took me to the Admission Office and I thanked her. "Thanks Stacy for your help, it came in a time of need and I really appreciate it. "You're welcome. If you're confused about anything else, you can come to me. My office is at the Secretarial Department". "Thank you and I will put that in mind". Then she left.

Stacey's POV

I noticed the students and teachers staring and snickering at someone. I was curious and it turned out to be the infamous girl that challenged Vincent. I admire her courage and boldness despite how she looks. I think they're just jealous of her because damn, she looks like an angel. I noticed her looking troubled. I wondered what the problem was, so I went to meet her. I greeted her and she greeted me back. Omg, she sounds like an angel and her temperament is like one too. She told me what was bothering her and it turned out to be locating the Administration Office. I was happy to help a beautiful angel like her so I told her to follow me. She was done with the registration and I told her the way to the Dormitory in case she has trouble locating it again. I told her to come to me for any problem. We parted ways. During the short time I have spent with her, I could say for sure that she's not like the rumors painted her to be.

Amelia's POV

Thanks to Stacey, I got my way to the Dormitory. I was given my dormitory name and number when I finished my registration. There are five girls hostels ranked according to their level of importance. Rose comes first, Lily second, Hyacinth third, Sunflower fourth and Lavender last. I'm in Lavender and my room number is 23. I checked in and was briefed about the dos and don'ts of the dorm. The rooms are spacious as four people are allocated to each room and two share a bunk bed. Therefore, there are two bunk beds in a room. If rooms in Lavender are this spacious how would the ones in Rose be or the others. It seems like those who aren't influential are placed in Sunflower and Lavender, Lavender as it seems was the hostel for scholarship students both old students and freshmen. I got settled in my room, chose the down part of the bunk bed by the right which is closer to the window and slept off.

I was woken up abruptly by the noise of rustling clothes. I looked at the person who caused such noise because when I got in, there was no one in the room. It was a red head. She noticed I was awake and said, "Did I wake you up?, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. Anyways, you're awake now, I'm Tessa, I'm a fresher just like you. "Wait, how do you know that I'm a fresher?". "Are you kidding me?, everybody knows you in the school but they don't know your name. Your face is in blogs and posts, some people even used your picture with mud on your clothes for a meme. You're famous without you knowing". "Seriously, I didn't even know the guy, I wish the driver had just apologized for the mud he splashed on me, found a solution so I didn't have to insult his boss. Instead, he shoved me aside which was quite insulting". "Sorry, I understand where you're coming from, but in this world, things don't work like that. The rich trample on you and still expect you to appreciate them for trampling. Just make sure you avoid Vincent because from the rumors that I heard, he is planning for a payback. You still haven't introduced yourself to me".

"Oh my bad, I'm Amelia, Amelia Edwards. An orphan. That's all about me. I'm studying Law here, you?". "I'm going for Theatre Arts. I want to be a first class actress with several awards to my name". "That's cool". "Are you going down for dinner, there's food available for students in the Cafeteria. At eight in the morning for breakfast, one in the afternoon for lunch and seven in the night for dinner". "Thanks but how did you know all these?. I mean they aren't even mentioned in the briefing". "Oh, I know a lot of things and I follow the school's official website so I have the information I need. Why aren't you following the website?". "Oh about that, I don't have a phone to do such things". "That won't be a problem, you have me to get all the information you need, so let's get dressed before the food is finished". " Sure, thanks for the info", "You're welcome", she told me and we went down to the Cafeteria after we changed our clothes.

The stares I received in the Cafeteria was worse than the one I got in the morning. People were literally taking pictures of me and it was so annoying but then, I was a scholarship student and they're elites so I won't make the mistake I made few weeks ago. Tessa was holding my arm as a sign that I should calm down when she noticed my anger. We waited in line, got our food and went to the only vacant table as everyone was avoiding us most especially me, we were about to sit when someone pushed me with the food. I fell and the food poured on me and the floor. I gasped in shock looked up and it turned out to be Vincent.
