Chapter 148 - Chapter 148: Genesis of a New World

The universe possessed consciousness.

Not the kind of self-aware intelligence that mortals or gods wielded, but something more primal, an instinctive awareness that pulsed through the fabric of existence itself. Takeyo had sensed it the moment he'd touched the fundamental structure of reality during the final battle against the Outer Gods.

The so-called "unclaimed universe" could only exist in two states: either freshly formed before universal consciousness coalesced, or...

"Or when that consciousness has been deliberately removed," Takeyo murmured, a knowing smile crossing his lips. Things were about to get very interesting.

Three days passed.

The war against the Outer Gods concluded with overwhelming victory for the DxD world. Everyone understood who had turned the tide, the companion of The God, wielder of both the Red Dragon Emperor's power and the recognition of the Infinite Dragon God herself.

Shortly after the celebrations began, Heaven made a historic announcement: Takeyo would become the new leader of the unified Three Factions. The God of the Bible, having merged her essence with his during their time-displaced encounter, would assume the mantle and legend of the Divine Mother.

News of this transition rippled across every pantheon. A new era had begun, whether they were ready or not.

But this was merely the opening act.

Days later, beings across every realm looked skyward in awe.

Though most hadn't personally fought on the frontlines, they'd witnessed that radiant figure during humanity's darkest hour. A mortal body channeling the power of an entire world, effortlessly annihilating Outer Gods and their reality-warping fleets.

That level of combat transcended anything their world had ever seen.

Today, that same figure appeared in the heavens once more.

Before anyone could voice their confusion about his intentions, he moved.

Golden light blazed from his outstretched hand, a brilliant lance that pierced toward the universe's deepest reaches. It vanished beyond mortal comprehension, swallowed by the cosmic dark.

Then reality itself began to shift.

Countless particles of stellar matter converged on Earth. The planet swelled beneath cascading veils of prismatic light, expanding rapidly beyond its natural boundaries. Within minutes, Earth's mass had surpassed Jupiter. Other celestial bodies drifted like toys in a child's hands, rearranging themselves at unseen command. The sun itself extinguished, plunging everything into absolute darkness.

Panic seized both mortal and divine hearts. After all they'd sacrificed, all they'd won, was this how their world would end? Destroyed not by alien invaders but by the very savior who'd delivered them?

Fortunately, the darkness lasted only moments.

The sun rekindled, no, suns rekindled. When light returned, there were subtle yet profound differences. Though humans couldn't immediately comprehend the changes, every god who bothered to investigate discovered the staggering truth.

Earth now possessed a mass that dwarfed its former sun, transformed into the literal center of their universe. The solar system had been completely restructured. Multiple suns now orbited the transformed planet, providing perfect illumination.

But the most shocking revelation came when gods examined themselves.

They'd grown stronger. Much stronger.

Limitations that had felt like immutable laws of existence had simply... vanished. Warriors who'd been stuck at bottlenecks for millennia suddenly broke through to new realms of power. The weakest among them had advanced at least one full tier.

Before confusion could turn to chaos, a voice resonated through every being of Maou-class or above:

"Three days hence, all shall gather in Heaven."

Most recognized the speaker immediately, their new God. But why summon them? What purpose could such a gathering serve?

Then understanding dawned. These unprecedented changes, this fundamental restructuring of existence itself, it had all begun when that golden lance pierced into the cosmos.

Which meant the new God had somehow reshaped the entire universe.

The facts aligned precisely with their theories.

Even now, Takeyo continued his meticulous work, adjusting the universal order with The God assisting at his side. Though both had grown substantially stronger, manipulating reality on this scale remained extraordinarily tedious.

"This is our home now," Takeyo said with a satisfied smile. "How does it feel?"

The God rolled her eyes. "How exactly do you expect me to maintain a home this large?" Despite her exasperation, she continued her assigned tasks without complaint.

After Takeyo had granted her authority over the secondary Hub system, she'd thrown herself into arranging the cosmic architecture with surprising enthusiasm.

"You really went all out," she admitted, genuine awe coloring her voice. "You actually seized complete control of this universe."

Just moments ago, Takeyo had deployed the Sacred Spear, Modified, a world-class item capable of fundamentally erasing targets or concepts from existence. Its original version demanded the user's deletion as payment, but Takeyo's modified variant eliminated that fatal drawback. A weapon of absolute annihilation, usable only once but devastating beyond measure.

He'd used it to erase the DxD universe's innate consciousness from existence itself.

With that primordial awareness removed, Takeyo had merged his consciousness with the Hub and Little Garden systems, claiming absolute authority over universal law. Unlike the faint, instinctive awareness that preceded him, Takeyo's will was focused, intentional, and overwhelmingly powerful.

Earth had become the cosmic core, possessing mass exceeding any star. The constraints that had limited mortal and divine potential, shackles woven into reality's foundation, had been released entirely.

Humans would grow smarter, stronger, longer-lived. So would every other species inhabiting Earth. Though they currently occupied just a fraction of the newly expanded planet's surface, time would see life flourish across every continent and ocean.

"True genesis," The God whispered. "You've literally recreated creation."

She was omniscient and omnipotent within her Biblical domain, or so the faithful believed. Those powers had been real enough, granted through worship and divine authority. But what Takeyo wielded now transcended anything she'd known. Within this universe, he possessed genuine omnipotence.

At least, within this universe's boundaries.

His power extended beyond these cosmic limits. Through active management via the Hub and Little Garden systems, he could incorporate other universes into his observation and control. Each added dimension would expand his Little Garden's scope while simultaneously increasing his personal strength.

For days, Takeyo devoted himself to perfecting these universal adjustments.

The subsequent Heaven Conference proceeded smoothly.

Though many gods had advanced considerably, none could bridge the chasm separating them from Takeyo's current level. They'd grown stronger, yes, but he'd transcended mortal categories of power entirely.

The assembly quickly grasped the truth: he had become equivalent to their world itself.

Fighting a planet was conceivable for beings of sufficient strength. Fighting the entire universe? That defied comprehension. Even conceptualizing such resistance felt impossible.

With absolute strength came absolute authority. Takeyo became the undisputed core around which all pantheons would orbit.

As the gods prepared to depart, Takeyo left them with a parting warning:

"Something very interesting may happen soon. When it does, we'll need everyone's strength. Use this time to grow as powerful as possible."

Though several pressed for clarification, Takeyo declined to elaborate. He needed to conduct certain experiments first. Only after succeeding himself could he responsibly guide others down the same path.

Then came the boring part.

Actually boring, for once.

Takeyo had always maintained clear objectives. Now, having eliminated every obstacle blocking his path and claimed universal sovereignty, he could finally rest.

Though his thirst for knowledge remained unquenched, he'd spent considerable time studying techniques from every divine system through unsigned grimoire copies, creating arrays matching each pantheon's unique properties, he still needed downtime.

The recent months had been consumed by developing Dragon Deification methods alongside The God. Without his lovers' frequent "visits" (essentially daily), he suspected he might have lost himself in endless research.

"I... I want your child."

The God's declaration, delivered with absolute certainty, marked a turning point.

Their merger had been complete, not the superficial essence-sharing from before, but true unity on every level. More profound than anything they'd experienced previously.

Of course, she wasn't alone in this desire.

Takeyo found himself working diligently to create dragon offspring with both Ophis and Great Red as well. In terms of primordial nature and origin, only three beings in this world approached his fundamental essence: The God, Ophis, and Great Red.

Though Ophis maintained her characteristic stoic demeanor, her competitive fire ignited whenever Great Red entered the equation.

Takeyo capitalized on this dynamic brilliantly, successfully completing the Double Dragon Dance sign-in.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations to the host for completing plot sign-in! Sign-in level: King!]

[Sign-in plot, Double Dragon Dance!]

[Plot completion: Ophis and Great Red achieve mutual understanding.]

[Congratulations! Reward: Avatar Awakening!]

[Avatar Awakening: Unlocks all possibilities of simulated star creation maps. Details require personal exploration.]

Though a simulated star creation map lay before him, Takeyo had zero interest in investigating it right now. He had far more pressing matters demanding his attention, specifically, ensuring he didn't waste this rare opportunity when Ophis and Great Red were actually cooperating.

Mutual understanding between dragons?

When exactly did they reach mutual understanding?

Obviously, only when experiencing similar circumstances. In this case, that meant...

"Ophis, you've definitely gotten stronger," Takeyo observed while helping wash her hair in the hot spring. Despite learning proper hygiene, Ophis still preferred when he handled this task personally.

At his words, rare emotion flickered through Ophis's perpetually calm eyes.

"Because... I need to surpass Great Red..."

Takeyo, having claimed universal authority, had easily transformed the Dimensional Gap, Ophis's birthplace, into her personal sanctuary, arranged exactly to her preferences.

As for Great Red, she'd acquired something better than any fixed location. She loved wandering freely, observing others. So Takeyo had granted her an ideal vantage point: outside the universe itself. She could drift through the cosmic void, and after his upgrades, she possessed power sufficient to survive beyond reality's boundaries.

Ophis no longer had direct conflict with Great Red, but dissatisfaction still simmered in her heart. Takeyo had used the "cooperation method" to temporarily bring both dragons to a state of mutual understanding, just long enough to trigger the sign-in completion. Otherwise, that particular achievement might have remained impossible indefinitely.

After considerable "lingering" time together, Takeyo finally began his experiments.

He'd warned other gods they'd need maximum strength for coming events. Now he had to ensure his methods actually worked before promoting them broadly.

"Are you really going to another world?" Outside the DxD universe's boundary, The God frowned.

Honestly, she didn't want him doing this. Though Takeyo had demonstrated universe-devouring power before her, she still couldn't bear the thought of him leaving this absolutely secure "Garden of Eden."

But if Claude could create content in text form, he should be willing to produce similar content in artifacts...
