Chapter 1 - Ch.1 : Seven Servant

In the middle of the large continent lies the largest kingdom, the Velmorra Kingdom.

A kingdom respected and praised as the most prosperous, perhaps due to their strong defenses, abundant economy, and even a family of famous servants working for this kingdom.

They are the Nocturn family, a family that has worked as royal servants for generations.

"Pardon me, Your Majesty, may I request permission for a few days off? My wife will soon give birth. Perhaps my next child may also be able to serve the Velmorra Kingdom someday," said Darius Nocturn, bowing before the King of Velmorra.

The King of Velmorra stood up and said firmly to Darius, "Very well, may she have a smooth delivery for your child. When you are done, do not forget to return to duty, as the kingdom is in a precarious condition."

"Thank you, Your Majesty! I will return to duty as soon as my affairs are settled. I take my leave." Darius then left the Velmorra royal palace.

---

Hidden in a remote corner of the continent, this is where the Nocturn family secretly resides, unknown to many, as this place is entered through a portal that only the Nocturn family can create.

Inside the magnificent mansion, the atmosphere was tense as they were about to welcome a new family member.

In the mother's room, or Selene Nocturn's room, she was in labor with a magic doctor who was accustomed to assisting with the Nocturn family's deliveries. But today, the magic doctor felt strange because the baby's aura was very different from the other Nocturn children.

A short while later, the fifth child of the new generation Servant Family finally arrived and was named Kael Nocturn.

However, there was something strange about Kael's birth; he did not possess power like his other siblings.

The magic doctor checked his power once more, "Nil. There is no elemental nature power as is customary, nor any other power."

Darius was confused, but in this strange situation, the eldest brother, Lucien Nocturn, blurted out something unpleasant, "It seems the era of our family will only last until our younger sister Aeris Nocturn."

The elder sister named Mireya Nocturn looked sadly at her youngest brother, "Good heavens, my cute little brother, why did this happen to him? Hmm, this is very strange."

The mother merely held him while stroking Kael's cheek, but suddenly one of Kael's eyes slowly darkened.

"Eh!? Dear, look at this!" Selene cried out.

Everyone approached and saw Kael's left eye slowly darken. As they continued to look, they started to feel dizzy, and Darius ordered all his children to close their eyes.

But when Darius looked again, his wife Selene was staring intently at Kael and slowly went limp. Selene then brought Kael's face close to her chest so he wouldn't look at anyone else.

"It's alright... everyone calm down, ahem," Selene said, looking at her hand.

Darius realized that his wife's Light power aura had vanished.

"Dear... your power? Is your power still there?" Darius said in a panicked tone.

Selene shook her head, indicating that her power was truly gone. "Please don't make a fuss. I can conclude that Kael's dark eye seems to be a power that can permanently remove the existence of power within its user..."

Everyone was instantly shocked.

"So Mother's power is really gone!???" Lucien said, looking at Kael with an annoyed glare.

"Lucien, dear, please don't blame Kael... I'm happy that Kael actually has such incredible power," Selene said, continuing to stroke Kael.

Lucien still couldn't accept that his mother, who had such strong power, lost it just like that. As Lucien was about to swear at his youngest brother, he was immediately pulled out of the room by his two younger siblings, Rael and Aeris.

Mireya asked in a gentle tone, "If Mother no longer has Light power, will we still continue our mission?"

Selene remained silent and nodded slowly.

Darius then instructed Mireya to look after Kael, as Lucien clearly hated Kael, and Mireya was the only one Darius could trust to guard Kael.

"Yes, Father, leave it to me... I won't let this cute little brother of mine be hurt by that ugly Lucien," Mireya said with a smile.

---

Five years have passed, and Kael has grown. He wears an eye patch and is practicing to be an assassin with Mireya and Rael.

Meanwhile, Lucien and Aeris refused to look after Kael because they still couldn't accept that their mother had lost her power, and they chose to serve in the Velmorra Kingdom because it was currently facing a crisis.

Rael, the younger brother, asked his older sister Mireya, "Sis, do you think Kael can adapt to his Void Eye? Because honestly, his eye is very dangerous if misused. Mother was the first victim."

Mireya just looked at Kael, who was practicing attacking a wooden dummy. While stroking Rael's hair, she said, "The important thing is that we keep supporting our little brother... no matter what, this is not his fault. He must also regret what happened to Mother, but he wasn't the one who caused it, as he was only just born."

Mireya stood up and released her water power. "Rael, I hope you don't hate Kael."

"Relax, Sis Mireya, Mom loves Kael very much, even when her power was gone, she seemed not to care. So why would I hate Kael?" Rael said with a smile, then released his lightning power and went to Kael to help him practice.

Kael immediately felt nervous around Rael, fearing that Rael hated him like his other siblings.

"Huh? Don't be nervous. I'm your brother, hehe. Just relax. I'm not like Brother Lucien and Aeris. You can treat me like Sis Mireya! Besides, we're only six years apart, hehe," Rael said, putting his arm around Kael.

"Ah, sorry, Brother Rael! I didn't mean to think that way... it just feels awkward," Kael said, scratching his cheek.

After that, they practiced together while being supervised by Mireya.

While they were resting, their mother returned from a mission after suffering a fatal attack from an enemy group. Since her Light power was gone, Selene only used her assassin instincts secretly, but it was still difficult to fight enemies with great magic.

Mireya immediately helped her mother and brought her inside to rest. Seeing this, Kael felt even more guilty and punched the wooden training dummy until it shattered.

"Brother Rael, can I become a servant too later on?" Kael asked.

"Of course! It's destiny for everyone in our family to be a servant... I was confused at first too, but this job isn't difficult," Rael replied.

Finally, Kael was determined to start training as a servant at his current age. Although typically, at that age, the Nocturn family would only be taught their assassin techniques first, as it was crucial for survival.

But because Kael wanted to make amends by replacing his mother as a strong Servant to protect both the kingdom and his family, Kael immediately began training, being taught by his mother, as Rael and Mireya had to help the kingdom, which was in a critical condition under the onslaught of enemy kingdoms.

To be continued...
