When a summon left the inner sanctuary of their Lord, it was just like leaving their realm for another which was entirely foreign to them.
Despite the fact that the other realms were saturated with mana, they did not absorb this mana as it was poisonous to them. Absorbing mana from a realm that was not their sanctuary would cause them to slowly wither and die.
But that was not all.
Despite the fact that Dominants were born in a realm like the Cradle, they had come to discover that the realm rejected the existence of summons. In fact, the only reason summons could stay in a realm that was not their sanctuary was because they were protected by the authority of their Lord.
As long as their Lord was around, they could exist in a foreign world without being rejected by its laws.
But if their Lord were to die, it would be like they had been cut off from their life support.
