"Ugh… I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. See? I told you I'm a fast learner," she cheered with glee, now able to walk with the aid of a rough wooden stick.
"Good for you then," Eliot replied flatly, without so much as glancing in her direction.
"Wait, you didn't even look!"
"...." He offered no response, just kept walking.
"Tch!" With a sharp click of her tongue, she forced herself to move faster and positioned herself directly in front of him, blocking his path. "Ugh," she groaned dramatically, clutching her side in exaggerated 'pain' from the sudden exertion.
"Don't waste your time. That act won't work on me," he admonished, then sidestepped her and continued on his way.
"What? You won't even console me?" she asked, a genuine frown replacing her fake grimace.
"You have access to mana, don't you?"
"I do," she replied, annoyance coloring her tone.
"Then you can handle yourself. The way I see it, you are stronger than I am right now."
