Chapter 246: You Know Each Other
"Adam?" Isla calls his name, never expecting Adam to be here, and the same goes for her band members as well. They look at him, stunned and confused as to why he is here.
They are so stunned at the moment that they can't even rationalize that it's Adam whom Lana has been talking about all this time.
Seeing Isla's reaction to Adam, Lana is also surprised. She looks at Isla and then at Adam.
"You know each other?" Lana asks because she swears Adam had no idea who these people were before they went to the concert together.
"Yes, we just got familiar with each other; they came to the restaurant I work at, and we talked a little bit," Adam says to Lana, acting completely nonchalant.
"Oh, so that's how it is..." Lana says, looking back at Isla and the others.
"Wait, do you mean to say your friend who rescued you all from those gang members was Adam?" Suzaan is the first to recover and ask the question that's now on everyone's mind.
"Yes, Adam is amazing. He is actually training to become a professional MMA fighter," Lana says excitedly while wrapping her hands around his arm and tightly leaning against him, which makes her breasts press against his arm.
Adam, of course, notices this but doesn't make a huge deal out of it as he doesn't know if Lana did it on purpose or by accident; either way, his trying to pull away from Lana would only embarrass her.
And Adam doesn't plan to do that. Since Lana is clearly interested in him, why would he sabotage his chance with her?
While Adam acts completely ignorant of Lana's sudden physical closeness with him, a few people in the room can't help but get jealous seeing this.
One of them is Isla, and the other is Jean.
Isla would of course be jealous as she clearly likes Adam very much, and as a woman, how can she not notice that Lana too is interested in Adam?
She is not surprised by this because Adam is clearly the type of guy who gets all the attention in the world. Even back at the restaurant, she saw how the two girls hovered around him seeking his attention. It's the same here as well.
Even the other two girls who are Lana's friends have that look of desire in their eyes when they look at Adam.
But Isla can't do anything but keep quiet while pressing her lips in frustration; she can't make a scene and cause Adam to look at her in an unfavorable light.
So she buries her jealousy inside her and smiles in return.
"You didn't tell me you did MMA," Isla says as she approaches Adam with her best smile.
As Lana watches Isla approach Adam, she sees the look in Isla's eyes and immediately catches on to Isla's very obvious attraction for Adam.
Which makes Lana realize that she has a rival in love, and that, too, none other than the lead singer of her favorite band. This makes Lana a little nervous, causing her to hold Adam's hand a little more tightly, causing her breasts to press and pop out even more.
Seeing this, Isla feels more jealous; it is she who has a date with Adam tonight, but why is Lana holding him like this?
As the two girls make eye contact, an invisible spark of rivalry flashes between them.
Isla then looks at Adam. She is not someone who accepts defeat so easily. She might feel a little nervous around Adam because of how he makes her feel, but that doesn't mean she is going to stand here and do nothing as Lana tries to put her claim over Adam by pressing against him.
"Why didn't you tell me you did MMA?" Isla asks.
"Well, we didn't have much time to speak now, did we? But don't worry, you can ask me anything you want tonight," Adam says, smirking, which makes Isla blush.
Seeing this, Lana frowns. She sees how close Adam and Isla seem, even though they really don't know each other very much.
And Adam's words about them talking tonight raise a lot of suspicion in Lana's head.
"What do you mean by that?" Lana couldn't help but turn to look at Adam and ask him.
"Oh, Isla and I are going on a date tonight," Adam says. Lana's eyes widen, hearing this. When she turns to look at Isla for confirmation, she sees a slight smirk of victory flash on Isla's face, which is then replaced by a normal-looking smile.
Adam also notices this and realizes that he has caused a catfight between these two girls, but he doesn't care about it.
If he wants them both, he will have them both.
Lana frowns as she didn't expect Isla to have already made a move on Adam, but since she has been a fan of the band for a while, she is not surprised.
Isla has always been the charismatic, confident leader. It's just that she didn't expect Isla to actually pursue someone, as she has when on record on multiple interviews that she has no interest in dating anyone and only wants to focus on her music career.
But it looks like Adam is enough to make her back away from the claim she made.
Lana feels a sense of loss as she looks at Isla and then Adam. Ever since Adam saved her, she has been crushing on him very hard, so seeing him going on a date with a girl whom she looks up to stings a little.
But Lana doesn't lose hope over it. This is clearly their very first date, and since Isla's a singer who travels around the country, she believes that this relationship is not one of those that will last forever.
Lana decides to find solace on her guess and keep her opinions to herself as she also doesn't want to make a scene and cause Adam to see her in a poor light.
Adam is surprised by the micro expression that just flashed on Isla's face, as it was nothing like the girl who had stood before him, a complete nervous wreck who was struggling to have a conversation with him.
During this little interaction with her and Lana, Isla showed a side of herself that Adam didn't expect, a confident, cunning one.
He smiles as he wonders what else Isla has for him, as she is still a bag full of mysteries that he needs to look into.
The other jealous person in the room, Jean, is also not liking what he sees. Seeing both Isla and Lana talking to Adam makes him feel suffocated.
He has had a crush on Isla for years, but she rejected him brutally just because he tried to question her decision on wanting to date Adam.
And just when he thought he could take Lana to bed to get over Isla for maybe at least tonight, he sees that Lana is also interested in Adam.
Jean clenches his jaw as he stares daggers at Adam. 'Sure, he is handsome, but that's it. Why do these girls see in him?' He questions himself, frustrated.
"Sheesh, this guy is really popular, isn't he. No matter where he goes, the ladies seem to love him," Kylo whispers so only his band members can hear him. Jean just clicks his tongue in annoyance for a response.
As for Suzaan, she just stares, seeing a rivalry brew between Lana and her best friend, Isla, over Adam, even though this is their very first meeting.
She sees that it's not only Isla who is love-struck by Adam, but Lana too, and she feels a sense of loss.
Her relationship with Isla is a solid one; she is not only her best friend but also her lover, but she has no claim over Isla, and Isla can date anyone if she wants. Suzaan has no problems with it.
But seeing Lana, whom she finds attractive, also trying to win over Adam, makes Suzaan feel a sense of loss as Adam's simple existence has managed to drag away two people from her life. Suzaan doesn't like this.
But the scary thing is that she realizes that if not for the fact that she is a lesbian, she might be in the same situation as her friend Isla, and Lana, and Lana's other two girl friends, who also seem to be interested in Adam.
Adam is the definition of a chick magnet.
"I don't like this..." Suzaan says, which catches Jean by surprise, as Suzaan has always been Isla's biggest supporter. For her not to like Adam is a good thing in Jean's eyes.
'Maybe she can talk Isla out of it,' Jean thinks, not realizing that Suzaan is not criticizing Isla and Adam's relationship, but is actually being threatened by Adam's ability to take away the girl she is interested in, Lana. Someone who even Jean finds attractive and thought he could take her to bed tonight.
"You have met them before, but let me introduce them to you once again," Isla grabs Adam's hand and brings him close to her band members, and begins introducing them to Adam.
Jean acts nonchalant, but Adam can see that Jean hates him, and the reason is very clear to Adam; he just smirks in return, not bothered by someone who doesn't matter to him.
Kylo's cool as he greets Adam with a smile.
And lastly, Suzaan, who also gives him a simple greeting, but Adam notices that Suzaan seems to have mixed feelings about him.
Seeing this, he is curious as to why.
His interest for Suzaan grows.
