Chapter 240: Bite Back
"Looks like I have another date," Adam says with a smile and puts his phone away before putting his attention back to the more important thing, watching cat videos on the internet.
Too bad he doesn't get to see more of it as Xu Lin comes to his room and informs him that dinner is ready.
He joins her downstairs to see his father and Julia already present.
Like always, his father is busy with work while Julia tries her best to care very little about Adam, but fails to do so as she can't help but keep glancing at him once in a while, as her thoughts and desires are in chaotic conflict.
Xu Lin, on the other hand, is eager for Adam to taste her cooking and be praised for a job well done.
Looking at the people around him, Adam can't help but contemplate the type of people he has in his circle.
His father is completely detached, his stepmother is a bitch who hates him to the core but also has the hots for him, while his maid is extremely loyal to a fault.
He has got quite a dynamic life, now it's up to him whether he wants to change this or keep it as it is.
The dinner isn't as eventful as last time, as Julia has nothing to complain about, Adam's and Xu Lin's relationship is out in the open and Jack doesn't give it much importance to care about it.
In his eyes, Xu Lin is a woman who is being paid to work for him, and if she wishes to open her legs for his son, it's her choice.
Julia has no other option but to comply, as slowly she is starting to come to a realization that she has very little to no authority in this house.
Before, things might have been a little different, but ever since Adam stepped up and proved himself to be someone who can man up in situations, Jack has stopped looking down on his son.
Seeing his son step up and take charge shows Jack that his name's legacy will continue through Adam, and so Julia's value in this house has dropped.
If Adam continued being a shut-in loser, Jack would have tried to have another child with Julia, someone who can further the Grant name, but Adam stepping up has changed his mind.
He no longer wants to have another child, especially with Julia, as it would just give Julia leverage that she can use against Adam and his claim.
Jack is far more ruthless than Adam, as he is willing to fuck over anyone for his own benefit, whether it is his son or wife.
Jack chose to side with Adam because he carries the Grant name, his blood, and Adam has shown great promise. Julia, on the other hand, is an outsider.
He was not blind when he married Julia; he knew her intentions, but his reason for marrying Julia was simple for Adam to have a mother figure so that he could grow up to be a promising child.
Studies have shown that having both a mother and a father figure is important for a child's development.
But things didn't go as he expected. Adam continued being a shut-in after the death of his mother, but just when he thought all hope was lost and he was contemplating whether he should have another child or not, Adam revealed his fangs, and to Jack's delight, his son turned out to be vicious, even not sparing the stepmother of his schemes.
Jack felt proud, and that's why he handed over all his assets and properties to Adam. Of course, it was not a complete transfer as Adam didn't have complete authority over them, but in name, they still belonged to Adam, and if and when Jack passes away, it will all belong to Adam.
In Jack's mind, it was better to have all his wealth secured by putting it under the name of his own blood than his gold-digging wife, who is clearly starting to unravel.
As the dinner continues in silence, Jack looks up at Adam and speaks.
"I sent the papers to your lawyer. Did you get it?" Jack asks.
"Yes, I did. She says everything is in order," Adam replies.
Jack nods and cleans up the remaining food on his plate while Adam goes back to eating, as he consumes a lot more.
Julia once again scrunches her brow, hearing this short conversation between father and son, she can't help but feel something fishy is going on because of how ambiguous they are being with the choice of their words.
If it really is what Jack said it was, there is no need to be so restrained in their conversation. What is she going to do with the information regarding Adam's investments?
She is not dumb; the father-son duo is definitely cooking up something behind her back, and she needs to know what it is.
For now, she will pretend not to be interested; instead, she focuses on eating.
But no matter how hard she tries to hide her curiosity, Adam's sharp instinct easily picks up the slight changes in Julia's expressions, and knowing the type of woman she is, he knows she will definitely try to do something.
Jack finishes his food and leaves, while Julia follows him immediately after, as she doesn't want to be left alone with Adam, as things might get out of hand. She might not be able to control herself if Adam provoked her.
Adam smirks with delight, seeing how much strain he causes Julia by merely existing. He couldn't be any happier.
He takes his time enjoying the dinner Xu Lin made for him while the loyal maid continues to stand by his side, making sure all of Adam's needs are fulfilled.
As Adam finishes his dinner, he looks at Xu Lin, who stands before him with her hands in front of her, her legs clenched, while her eyes flutter in anticipation.
"Um... master... Do you need me tonight?" She asks, blushing while fiddling with her fingers.
Adam smiles and caresses her face. "How could I say so to this cute face of yours?" Adam says and invites her to his bed for the night.
In moments like this, Adam feels great about himself for choosing to hire Xu Lin as who doesn't want a beautiful maid who is loyal to a fault, willing to be of service every night or whenever he desires.
Knowing that he will have a warm cunt to fuck every night before going to bed puts a smile on his face.
Later that night, Xu Lin's moans seep through the walls of the mansion, causing Julia to once again lock herself in the bathroom to relieve herself.
Luckily for her, she won't have to continue with these kinds of private sessions inside the bathroom for much longer, as soon it will be her who will be accompanying Adam in his bed, and it will be her moans that will be seeping into the walls of this mansion. She just doesn't know it yet.
And may some days and nights, it would be both Xu Lin and Julia together, or some other woman Adam decides to bring over.
No night will be a quiet night in Adam's mansion from here on out.

The next morning, Adam wakes up refreshed while Xu Lin lies naked beside him; she will need maybe an extra hour of sleep before he wakes up.
Till then, Adam finishes with his daily morning routine, stretching, showering, and putting on clothes, while Xu Lin is already up and preparing breakfast.
After Xu Lin leaves, Adam begins thinking about last night's event, though it was not an eventful dinner; Julia's reaction made him a little vigilant.
Knowing how annoying she can be with her methods, Adam decides to hide a camera in his room, as he is sure that Julia will try to snoop around in his room.
This will surely provide him with more evidence he can use against her. Even though he already has enough to destroy her, he isn't against adding a few more to his collection.
Maybe he can even use this for an appetizer before he gets his main course.
He takes out a small camera and looks at it with a smile. This is the same camera Julia had planned to use against him when trying to frame him for r*pe, but of course, she wasn't successful because Adam didn't fall for her tricks.
Now he is going to use the same camera to get back at her.
Adam looks around and finds a nice, secure place to hide his camera before heading down for breakfast.
After breakfast, he leaves for work with a smile on anticipation on his face, hoping that Julia makes a mistake so that he can take advantage of her.
And just like he expected, it hadn't even been half an hour since he left, Julia walked into Adam's room and started shifting things around to find the folder he brought along with him yesterday.
The more she struggled to find it, the more frustrated she got and started throwing things around.
And when she finally checked his wardrobe, she found his secret safe and clicked her tongue in frustration. She tried a few combinations like Adam's birthday or his real mother's birthday and deathday, but none of the attempts succeeded, further frustrating her.
Little does she know, her actions have all been recorded by the very spy camera she bought to trap Adam.
