Fear surged in my chest like a tidal wave, making my chest tight, The clinic had called at 2:47 AM in the middle of us deliberating what to do about shadow fang.
Dr. Reeves' voice had been shaky actually when she'd delivered the news.
"She's gone. Nessa's gone. I went to check on her at midnight and the bed was empty. The IV removed. Her clothes missing. Security footage shows she left through the service entrance at 11:23 PM. She's been gone for over three hours and we have no idea where she went."
Three hours.
She'd been missing for three hours before anyone noticed.
Three hours in which anything could have happened, my heart hammered so hard against my ribs, I could hear it's erratic thrum. Various "what if " Scenarios assaulted me, what if she was dead, I tried to calm myself, I had to remain calm so I could find her.
