"I don't know the details, all of you hold on to me!" The rest did as they were told, and soon light emanated from the captain's hand, the light engulfed them, and when the light vanished, so did they.
Cecilia finally found her footing and stood up; despite the great fear she felt, she forced her legs to move and follow the child. She only made a few steps when she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Please don't hurt me!" she shouted as she jumped like a startled cat.
"Relax, pink, it's just me." Chris informed the shaking human, "Where is the child?" he asked
Cecilia slowly opened her eyes, and when she was sure it was the captain, she quickly grabbed the captain by the elbow and went behind him. "Over there!" she pointed at the Ocampo pagoda
"I thought she needed energy. Why go here?" Martinez pointed out.
Kaori then suddenly realized something: "We are at the throat of the Philippine Ley lines!" She glanced at the building, "The pagoda! Saori is going to use the pagoda as a conduit to siphon off the sacred energy from the Ley lines!"
"What will happen if she succeeds?" Murillo asked, but the truth was she didn't want to know the answer; she was forced to ask to know how grave the consequences would be if the vengeful ghost succeeded.
"Imagine an evil ghost with the power of the primordial gods, like a child wielding a nuclear weapon," Kaori replied, painting a vivid picture of should Saori gets her way.
"You don't have to be that descriptive," Martinez replied, after clearing his throat
"Murillo, call Bustamante, brief him of our situation, and tell him to send the PR crew." Chris led the charge to the pagoda. "Our plan is still the same, nothing has changed!"
The Twilight's PR crew arrived as requested, and Chris gave them instructions to mask any activities happening inside the building, lead the humans away, and let no one enter. When the group entered, the PR crew placed a Shimenawa (Rice straw rope marking the boundary of the sacred and the profane)
Upon entering the compound, they saw three dead humans, sprawled in the vicinity, their bodies dried and twisted. They climbed the stairs, and Cecilia stayed close to Chris. Upon entering, they saw Emily in her ghostly form, in a lotus position, and floating in mid-air
The Captain, Chief Murillo, and Helmsman Martinez all took their positions and surrounded the possessed girl, who seemed not to mind the intruders.
Kaori donned her traditional Shinto priestess garments and took her position. She laid out her Shinto Kamidana wooden God shelf in front of her, the item where she intended to trap Saori's spirit. She started to wave her Harai Gushi (a ritual tool made of a handheld pole with many zigzag strips of white paper) in non-frantic and brisk movements. She also starts to wave her bell wand as she recites her prayers and incantations.
Chris raised his open palms toward the girl, and the air around Emily began to swirl around her, creating a barrier intent to subdue her. "Too noisy!" Emily exclaimed, and with just a wave of her hand, the barrier that Chris erected became larger and violent, encompassing the entire area. With another wave of her hand, she was able to throw the Twilight crew and Cecilia in various directions.
Emily attacked her mother, repeatedly hitting her with her razor-sharp claws. She grabbed Kaori by the neck and lifted her. As she tightened her grip, cracks began to appear, and Kaori's essence started to seep out. Chris, Chief Murillo, and Helmsman Martinez tried to subdue the possessed child, but a single wave of her hand sent the three flying. The captain crashed through a window, and two ghosts phased through the walls. Outside, Chris quickly got up to his feet and tried to enter again, but an invisible barrier prevented him from entering.
"I will displace your daughter's soul and claim this powerful body as my own!" Saori cackled loudly.
Cecilia came to; she extended her hand through the wind, but she quickly retracted it. The violent winds inside the pagoda felt like small blades that ripped through her skin. Right in the middle of the swirling vortex, she saw the evil spirit tightening her grip on Kaori. "Just because you are dead does not mean I cannot punish you. I will destroy your soul, just like what I'm going to do to all the descendants of those who sealed me away!"
"Emily!" Kaori shouted, "Fight her, my child, please resist her hold on you!" She pleaded, hoping her daughter would hear her
Saori's visage was slowly replacing the child's face as the soul of Emily was slowly being displaced. "It's no use, she can't hear you! Her abilities have magnified my own abilities!"
Cecilia remembered Triple-A's words upon hearing what the ghost said, "Technically, if you can't see spirits anymore, you will no longer see the Twilight, Uhm...I guess the ship would release you."
She pulled out the amulet from her pocket. "Please let me be right!" she whispered to herself. She stood up and braced herself as she marched straight into the violent winds. Cecilia wanted to scream from the pain, but she stifled the cries in her head, not wanting to attract any attention to herself.
When she was close enough, she placed the amulet around Emily's neck. At that very instant, the wind died out, and she let go of Kaori. Cecilia came to the ghost's side, pulling her away.
"What is this?" Saori tried to remove the amulet, but the moment she touched it, her hand was burned. "The girl's powers are disappearing!" Saori howled as she was forced out of Emily's body.
Emily fell to the floor unconscious. Cecilia quickly lifted the child away from the evil spirit towards her mother. Outside, Chris and the others noticed that the barrier preventing them from entering had dissipated, and they rushed inside, wondering what had happened.
Saori howled in anger as a mere amulet thwarted her revenge. Then she sensed something, a more powerful vessel, and she slowly spun to face Cecilia with a sinister grin on her face. "I can see how bright your heart is, even brighter than the child's…I will turn it black!"
Cecilia screamed and closed her eyes as Saori's ghost raced towards her. Her head shot up, her eyes became black as tar, and her whole body shook violently as she was slowly lifted into the air by an unseen force.
Chris and the others arrived just to see Saori's ghost possess Cecilia. She screamed as she was convulsing in mid-air. She stopped screaming as she was slowly lowered to the floor.
Chris approached her as she swayed from side to side. "Pink?" he called out. He gently turned her towards him. "Are you okay?" he asked again.
When Cecilia opened her eyes, they were bloodshot. She grabbed Chris by the neck and lifted him. "Not pink! Black!"
