Nathan's POV
The discussion with Louis and Lashana exceeded my expectations. Louis's acceptance of leading the Watson pack until our child comes of age relieved a weight I hadn't realized I was carrying. Training him won't be simple since he lacks Alpha preparation, but his Beta instincts are sharp. Yancy will follow that same path.
Once they depart, I turn toward Krysta. "Are you prepared to speak with Gianna?"
"Absolutely. She and I can browse furniture catalogs for her bedroom afterward."
I steal a moment to claim her lips, drowning in the fierce love radiating through our mate bond. A low rumble escapes my throat as I break away, earning her musical laughter.
"Come on, let's find Gianna," she says, sliding from my lap with graceful ease.
The dining hall still holds the two girls finishing their meal when we arrive.
"Gianna, would you join us for a conversation?" I request.
Her gaze flickers between us before settling on Harlow.
