Nathan's POV
Detective Bennett walks beside me as we head toward the holding cells. I extend my senses to check on the pack's emotional state. Krysta and Sophia's calming influence still blankets everyone, maintaining peace despite the underlying tension.
Still, I sense the growing restlessness among my wolves. Their Alpha has been locked away for days now, and their patience wears thin.
My warriors stand guard at the cell entrance. I acknowledge them with a brief nod before Bennett and I descend the stone steps leading to the underground detention area. The northern climate makes these cells brutally cold. While our wolf nature usually shields us from temperature extremes, prolonged exposure to this damp, frigid darkness eventually penetrates even our supernatural resilience. I have employed this psychological pressure on rebellious pack members before. It appears to have had the desired effect on Maverick too.
