Julia's POV
The past few days had been torture. My mind felt like it was trapped in a fog, unable to concentrate on anything except the glowing screen of my phone. I found myself checking it obsessively, staring at the message I had sent Gavin days ago. The little notification showed it was delivered, but there was nothing else. No response. No acknowledgment. Just silence that felt like a knife twisting in my chest.
Several days without a word from him. My brain kept spiraling, replaying every moment of our last conversation, searching for clues about what I might have done wrong.
I was so consumed by these thoughts that I completely missed my name being called during the business lecture. It wasn't until Kendra nudged my elbow that I snapped back to reality.
"What?" I blinked rapidly, my face burning as I realized every pair of eyes in the classroom was fixed on me.
