Julia's POV
Gavin let out a quiet groan as he moved closer to me, his strong arm wrapping around my waist like he had no intention of letting me escape. He pulled me tight against his chest until every inch of our bodies touched, and before I could protest, he slid himself back inside me. My breath caught in my throat immediately.
"Gavin," I whispered urgently, trying to keep my voice low, "you need to stop this."
He didn't even hesitate. "Just let me stay like this for a few more minutes," he murmured into my hair, his warm breath tickling my ear. "I still have time before I need to leave."
My body tensed because this wasn't what I wanted right now, but I didn't move away. Instead, I focused on the words I'd been practicing in my head for hours, the ones I knew I had to say before I lost my nerve completely.
