Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 — The Prince Who Shouldn’t Remember Her

The storm outside howled like a wounded beast.

Inside the small healer's hut, Liora moved quickly, wrapping bandages with steady fingers though her mind was far from calm.

She had spent three days trying to understand this new life — her second chance.

Every night, the same question haunted her: Why me? Why again?

Just as she tightened the last knot on a wounded soldier's arm, the door burst open with a crash. Two royal guards stumbled in, soaked and panicked.

"Doctor Elara! Emergency! The Crown Prince has been attacked—he's losing blood!"

Liora froze. The title hit her like a blade.

The Crown Prince.

Kael Ardent.

The very name that once made her heart skip now felt like venom on her tongue.

Before she could respond, the guards rushed in carrying an unconscious man — tall, broad-shouldered, armor cracked, blood seeping through silver cloth. His face was pale, his long hair darkened by rain.

When they laid him down on her wooden bed, the world tilted.

It was him.

Even in another life, she could never forget those sharp, cold features — the same lips that once whispered her name before her death.

Her breath caught. "Kael…"

The guard looked at her. "You know His Highness?"

She quickly shook her head. "No. Just—just help me stop the bleeding!"

They obeyed, and soon she was alone with him.

The candle flickered.

Her trembling hand hovered over his chest wound. The scar across his ribs glowed faintly under the moonlight leaking through the window.

"Even dying, you find your way to me," she muttered bitterly.

Suddenly, his fingers twitched. His lips moved, forming a whisper — a name.

Her name.

"…Liora."

She stumbled backward, heart pounding.

He couldn't have said that. No one here should even know that name.

"W–What did you say?" she asked, voice trembling.

His eyes opened — silver, sharp, and hauntingly familiar.

He looked straight at her and smiled faintly.

"I've found you… my Moon Bride."

The world went silent.
