"Bang bang!"
A crisp knocking sound rang out.
"Come out. Although I don't know what you kids are trying to do, just come out of the trunk first." Hanyu Nan walked to the back of the car and said softly.
The group had just arrived downstairs at Yoko Okino's apartment building. As soon as their front feet touched the ground, they saw Hanyu Nan walk to the rear of the car and gently tap the trunk twice.
"What! Is the stalker hiding in Miss Yoko's trunk?"
Kogoro Mouri's face changed drastically when he heard this, and he rushed towards Hanyu Nan in a flash.
Ran and Yoko Okino were startled and quickly dodged behind Hanyu Nan, timidly peeking at the trunk.
Hanyu Nan waved his hand, signaling them not to panic, then shook his head and said, "No." With that, he reached out and opened the trunk.
Immediately, what greeted their eyes were the faces of Conan and the three troublemakers, all with fawning smiles.
"Hehe, Big Brother, we're playing hide-and-seek!" Conan said, blinking his bright eyes and showing an adorable expression.
Seeing this, Hanyu Nan immediately pulled out his phone and snapped a photo of the scene.
Then, he reached out and gently lifted Ayumi out of the trunk.
The Organization only wanted Conan to die, but Hanyu Nan was different; he wanted Conan to suffer social death. Such a good record must be preserved.
"How did you kids get here? Didn't your parents teach you not to get into other people's cars casually?"
Seeing that it wasn't the stalker, Kogoro Mouri walked over angrily and landed a heavy punch on each of the three children's heads in the trunk.
"Ouch!" "Ouch!" "Ouch!"
Three screams rang out simultaneously.
"Huh? Isn't this Conan and the three kids we met at the amusement park that day?"
At this moment, Ran also noticed the four children in front of her and realized she knew all of them.
"Ran, you know these brats?"
Kogoro Mouri shook his hand; his hand hurt a little from hitting the children just now.
"Yes, Dad, this little boy with glasses is Shinichi's relative and is currently staying with Professor Agasa," Ran replied.
"No wonder. I was wondering why this brat looked so annoying; turns out he's that Detective brat's relative," Kogoro Mouri mumbled, clearly not having a good impression of Conan.
Hanyu Nan did not pay attention to the conversation between Kogoro Mouri and his daughter:
"We meet again, little Ayumi. Don't you know that what you're doing is very dangerous? If the car owner locks the car without knowing you're inside, you could be trapped and die from lack of oxygen."
Hanyu Nan's tone rose several degrees in the last few sentences as he turned and sternly addressed Conan and the other two.
"Sorry, we know we were wrong."
Genta and Mitsuhiko quickly apologized.
Conan looked at Hanyu Nan, who was staring at him with a serious expression, and reluctantly apologized as well.
"Sorry, Big Brother, we really didn't know it would be so dangerous." Ayumi, held in Hanyu Nan's arms, also gathered her courage and timidly apologized to him.
Hanyu Nan nodded slightly, indicating that he accepted Ayumi's apology, then carefully placed her on the ground.
Seeing this scene, Conan muttered to himself, "Why is this guy showing favoritism?" He couldn't help but twitch his mouth as he watched Hanyu Nan's gentle attitude towards Ayumi.
"Alright, you kids follow us closely for now. We'll take you home once we're done."
Hanyu Nan took Ayumi's small hand and placed it in Ran's, asking her to help look after her.
Kogoro Mouri then turned around and shouted at the other three children, "You brats listen up! Once we go up, stay put! No one is allowed to run around!"
After arranging the children, Kogoro Mouri straightened his clothes and quickly walked up to Yoko Okino, saying, "Don't worry, everything's fine now. Those were just some mischievous brats. Let's go investigate the situation first!"
Yoko Okino didn't pay much attention to the children. She just wanted to solve the case as quickly as possible, so she nodded slightly and led everyone upstairs.
The group took the elevator straight to the twenty-fifth floor.
"Wow, it's so beautiful!"
"That's right!"
Ran held Ayumi, and both stood by the window on the twenty-fifth floor, looking down at the bustling city lit up by lights at night, exclaiming in admiration.
Conan, Mitsuhiko, and Genta, standing nearby, did not have such good treatment. They could only gaze enviously at Ayumi, who was held in Ran's arms.
As soon as Hanyu Nan arrived on the twenty-fifth floor, he felt a chilling wind blow towards him.
Immediately, a familiar voice echoed in his mind: "Spiritual energy detected. Absorb it?"
As expected! Hanyu Nan sighed to himself, truly worthy of being the "Death God Elementary School Student."
He turned his head to look at Conan, who was gently rubbing a bump on his head, thinking: As long as Conan is present, someone is almost certainly going to die.
Noticing Hanyu Nan's gaze, Conan looked up, a hint of a puzzled smile on his face.
Seeing this, Hanyu Nan merely nodded slightly, then shifted his gaze away, and silently gave Conan a thumbs-up in his heart, thinking, "Keep up the good work, I'm counting on you to meet the quota!"
"Everyone, we've arrived."
Yoko Okino pulled out a set of keys and walked to an apartment door, preparing to open it.
"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!"
Sharp, piercing screams echoed through the entire corridor. As soon as the door was pushed open a crack, Yoko Okino trembled as if electrocuted, continuously letting out terrified shouts, and her body lost its support, collapsing limply to the ground.
Kogoro Mouri and the manager immediately rushed over upon hearing the sound.
Hanyu Nan, however, stopped Ran, who was about to go forward to check the situation: "Ran, it sounds like a case has occurred. You stay here and look after the children." After saying that, he then rushed to the scene of the incident.
Hanyu Nan took a few steps to Yoko Okino's side and first helped her to her feet.
The group pushed open the apartment door and saw a corpulent man lying face down in a pool of blood, a sharp dagger conspicuously plunged into his back, and blood stained the surrounding floor, a shocking sight.
"Ran, someone's dead! Call the police quickly!"
Kogoro Mouri made a decisive decision, urging Ran to call the police as soon as possible and swiftly taking measures to protect the scene to prevent crucial evidence from being damaged.
"Someone's dead... Could it be those men in black? Damn it!"
Conan, standing outside the door, felt his heart tighten upon hearing the news from inside the room. Seizing the opportunity while Ran was dialing the police, he secretly slipped into the room.
