"Did you hear that Lena was seeing Adrian before his wife…" someone whispered as I walked past.

A few days in, Lena had reportedly snapped and screamed at an employee, who then resigned and cited workplace bullying in her letter. After that, Lena had not shown her face at work at all.
The stock price had dipped too. After they killed Star, the Vales had run a personal campaign painting Adrian as a kind and charming man. And of course it worked. People loved someone they found conventionally attractive. They poured compassion on him, the poor widower who had lost his dear wife and unborn child. A handsome face could make the world overlook anything.
