Chapter 5 - First Encounter

Lynt, on the other hand, was ordered to stay indoors.

He could only use his new phone to frantically absorb information about this World.

He discovered that the current timeline was roughly a few years after the X-Men: First Class storyline.

Professor X's school was already taking shape, and Magneto had also formed his Brotherhood, secretly accumulating strength.

This was a relatively calm, but undercurrent-ridden period.

However, this calm was soon broken.

That night, when Raven returned, her expression was unusually solemn.

"We need to find another place."

She said straightforwardly.

"Eric's people seem to have caught scent of us."

Lynt's heart sank.

"And,"

Raven continued.

"I need more intelligence and resources; petty thievery is no longer enough. Tonight, I'll take you somewhere."

Half an hour later.

In Manhattan, New York, inside an outwardly unremarkable classical building.

Lynt looked at himself in the mirror, feeling a little unreal.

He was wearing a well-tailored Armani suit, a Patek Philippe watch on his wrist, and his hair was meticulously combed.

He looked like a wealthy young master from a privileged background, with a hint of languid elegance.

Standing beside him, Raven had transformed into a stunning blonde, blue-eyed Caucasian beauty, 1.8 meters tall, with a figure so captivating that all men couldn't take their eyes off her.

She wore a sharp black women's suit skirt, a Bluetooth earpiece, and had a stern expression, like a top-tier elite secretary.

"Remember,"

Raven leaned into his ear, warning him in a voice only they could hear.

"Once inside, you are Leo, a lucky man who just inherited a large fortune from his father. Speak less, observe more, and I'll handle everything. Don't wander off, or else…"

The unspoken threat was clear.

Lynt nodded silently.

The two walked into the elevator, and when the elevator doors opened again, a scent of luxury, decadence, mixed with perfume and power, wafted over them.

This was a huge underground club.

Crystal chandeliers, velvet carpets, and scantily clad waiters carrying champagne weaved through the crowd.

Classical music flowed through the air, but the chatter and boisterous laughter of the people were filled with primal desires.

Hellfire Club!

Lynt recognized the place at a glance.

This was a secret society in the Marvel Universe composed of global elites and socialites, and its core members were almost all powerful Mutants!

This was a playground for the rich and powerful, and also a hub for exchanging information and conspiracies.

Raven led him, navigating through the crowd with familiarity, and stopped at a bar counter.

"Wait for me here, order a drink, and don't cause trouble."

Raven's voice was cold and hard.

"I'm going to talk to someone."

With that, she swayed her astonishing waist and walked towards a private room deep within the club.

Lynt sat alone at the bar, ordering a glass of whiskey.

He wasn't nervous; instead, he felt a strange excitement.

Almost everyone in this club radiated energy fluctuations, strong or weak.

Rich people, Mutants, politicians, assassins… all walks of life gathered here.

His gaze, like a precise radar, swept across the entire venue.

Then, he saw a familiar figure.

In a booth not far away, a young girl with dazzling red hair, wearing a red evening gown, was sitting with a man wearing special red quartz glasses.

Jean Grey and Scott Summers!

The future Phoenix and Cyclops!

Only, both were still young.

Lin Ente's heart skipped a beat.

Within Jean Grey's body lay a terrifying power capable of destroying the Universe.

Such a dangerous person must be kept far away from!

He immediately averted his gaze, pretending to drink his wine nonchalantly, calculating when Raven would return.

However, his double luck attribute always seemed to enjoy playing tricks on him at such times.

Just as he decided to be invisible, Jean Grey, in the booth, seemed to sense something and suddenly frowned.

She looked over the noisy crowd, her gaze precisely falling on Lynt.

Scott seemed to notice her abnormality and whispered something.

Jean shook her head, exchanged a few brief words with Scott, then stood up, holding her wine glass, and walked directly towards Lin Ente.

Lynt's heart sank.

There's no escaping!

He watched the approaching red-haired figure, his scalp tingling.

A moment later, a faint fragrance wafted over.

Jean Grey stood before him.

She was tall, and in high heels, she was almost eye-level with the seated Lynt.

Her powerful psychic energy made him feel pressure, as if she had already seen through him.

Her crimson lips parted slightly, her voice clear and tinged with curiosity.

"You're very special,"

"I can feel a… warm yet dangerous aura about you. My name is Jean, and yours?"

My name is Jean, and yours?

Lynt's heart pounded wildly in his chest, blood rushing to his brain, making him feel momentarily dizzy.

Phoenix!

The future cataclysm, a walking Universe bug!

He just wanted to find a hole to crawl into, or have Raven take him away immediately.

He forced himself to put on a seemingly calm expression, picked up his wine glass, and took a sip of whiskey, using the liquor's pungency to mask the slight tremor in his hand.

"Adam."

He gave a common fake name.

Jean's green eyes flickered slightly, and an invisible psychic force silently probed towards Lynt's mind.

This was her subconscious action, a curiosity and exploration of something unique.

However, just as that psychic energy was about to touch the core of Lynt's consciousness, it hit a wall.

Jean's psychic tendril was like a drop of Water dissolving into the desert, instantly disappearing without a trace, not even a ripple.

How could this be?

A clear look of astonishment appeared on Jean's face for the first time.

She had encountered people who could resist her psychic powers, such as Magneto's helmet, or highly trained Agents.

But this man named Adam, his mental World was a black hole.

Bottomless, devouring all attempts at exploration.

"Your mind… is very resilient."

Jean blurted out, a surprise in her voice that she herself hadn't expected.

The huge stone hanging in Lynt's heart crashed to the ground.

He wasn't seen through!

His "Transcendent" mental attribute was indeed a top-tier firewall!

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but on his face, he feigned an expression of not understanding.

"Is that so? Many people say I have strong willpower. Perhaps it's because I exercise daily?"

He began to talk nonsense with a straight face.

This feigned casualness only made Jean more curious.

Just then, a tall figure stood between the two of them.

Scott Summers walked over, his special red quartz glasses blocking his destructive vision, and also giving him an air of aloofness that kept others at bay.

He shielded Jean behind him, his actions clearly protective.
