The car rolled past the prison gates, metal bars sliding open with a heavy mechanical sound before closing behind them.
Jungtae watched it happen through the window, his gaze landed on the different buildings.
His stomach tightened.
The car stopped in front of another secured entrance. Barbed wire lined the tall fences. Concrete walls rose high, gray and thick.
He stepped out.
The cold air hit his face, but his palms were sweating.
'What am I going to say?
What will he say?
What does he look like now?'
Officer Park guided him inside.
The building smelled of different chemical cleaning materials. Jungtae covered his nose.
Fluorescent lights bright overhead. The floors and walls were unexpectedly clean but worn, reflecting pale white light.
Doors opened and closed with electronic beeps. Somewhere down the hall, a gate clanged shut.
Jungtae's footsteps echoed slightly as he walked behind Officer Park.
