Owen slowly blinked awake. His vision was blurry at first, his body heavy, but the steady beeping beside him grounded him. Five days had passed since the surgery.
He turned his head slightly and saw Jin-ah sitting beside the bed, her eyes red and swollen.
"N-Noona…" his voice came out weak and hoarse.
"Owen!" Jin-ah stood up from her chair immediately, leaning over him. Her hands hovered, unsure where to touch him. "You're awake! Thank God. Do you feel any pain?"
"N-no…" he murmured, then glanced down at his stomach wrapped tightly in bandages. His brows knit together. "It feels… weird."
"Yes, because you've been unconscious for 5 days," she said quickly, brushing his hair back with trembling fingers. "Do you remember anything? Owen, what were you thinking? I thought you were safe, hiding from Dad, and then I got a call saying you'd been stabbed!"
Jin-ah pulled the blanket over him, "you should've told me anything…"
