Backgrounds & Terminology (Spoilers)

Solvnir: The name given to the world, containing Megido as its continent.

Megido: The central continent that houses the three nations of the world: Erindor, Avelon, and Yonu.

Yonu: This country is characterized by its vast wastelands, relentless deserts, and desolate landscapes. Its size eclipses both Erindor and Avelon combined. Countless abominations live here, leaving little opportunity for external life to thrive. Both Erindor and Avelon have attempted numerous expeditions to scavenge its territories, but with little success, due to the harsh climate, extreme biome conditions, and native creatures that are abnormally powerful compared to those of other regions. As a result, both nations now avoid Yonu, despite widespread suspicions that it may contain world-changing resources and ancient secrets.

Erindor: The country/kingdom ruled by King Charles. For comparison, it is as big as Australia. Out of the three countries, Erindor has the most density of human population and can be considered as humanity's heartland.

Avelon: Once the homeland of most demihumans, Avelon is comparable in size to Erindor. It was originally ruled by a moderate king until his throne was usurped by Anna Schreiber, a human also known as the Military Queen. Through her authority and force, Anna oppressed and persecuted the demihuman population, resulting in the genocide of more than half their kind. The remaining survivors are either trapped under Anna's regime or have fled to Erindor seeking better living conditions. King Charles refrains from interfering in Anna's rule, as Avelon provides him with valuable trade resources each year. In return, Anna does not meddle in Charles' affairs.

The Royal Guard: King Charles's personal guard and the most powerful warriors in his kingdom. The unit is composed of eight elite individuals. When recurring or troublesome issues arise within the realm, Charles typically dispatches one of them to resolve it.

The Inquisition: A religious organization located within Erindor, dedicated to hunting demons and those they deem "heretics." Led by Sister Melina, the Inquisition operates independently of King Charles, focusing instead on spreading their faith to willing listeners. They worship an almighty creator deity known as ELIOM.

The Apostles: A sub-organization of the Inquisition, comprised of seven of the most powerful inquisitors. They receive orders directly from Sister Melina.

Mana: The metaphysical energy that permeates the entire universe. It is through channeling the surrounding mana that a mage is able to manifest their magic spells. Mana is present everywhere, even on inanimate objects.

Prowess: After a certain amount of training, the physical body of a person eventually stagnates on its growth. This stagnation is called a ceiling or wall. Through near-death experiences or traumatic events, it's possible for one to break that ceiling, achieving what we call "Prowess" on a certain aspect. From there on, there is no more limit to how much the person can grow. There are various forms of Prowess, such as Strength Prowess, Speed Prowess, Durability Prowess, and so on. It is possible to achieve more than one prowess, but it's extremely rare.

Transmigrators: People from alternate worlds that have been either transported or reincarnated into Solvnir. These transmigrators usually arrive in this world already with a special ability, but said ability can vary in nature, being something either useless or overpowered. King Charles distrusts their unpredictable nature and thus seeks to either recruit them to his side or eliminate them if they refuse to cooperate.
