Several days later…
On a remote island in the middle of nowhere.
"Finally, a town! That took forever," Kavi sighed with relief.
He turned and offered a smile to the tall figure beside him. "Newgate, thanks for looking after me these past few days."
Whitebeard Newgate chuckled heartily. "No need for thanks between friends!"
"In that case… everyone!" Kavi raised his hand in farewell. "This is goodbye for now. See you soon!"
He was ready to head off solo—to explore, gather information, and hopefully make some money along the way.
"Hey, Kavi! Don't forget to find us in the New World! I still want a rematch!" Marco shouted, clearly reluctant to part ways.
It seemed the Whitebeard Pirates had finished their business in this sea and were preparing to return to the New World, where their endless battles awaited.
"Don't worry, I'll come!" Kavi waved again as he walked off.
Of course he'd go to the New World eventually. That's where the real fun was.
But not yet.
Right now, he was strong—but not strong enough to take on an entire crew of monsters alone. He needed to be patient, bide his time, and keep growing stronger.
He wandered into town, gathered some intel, and discovered—unsurprisingly—that even here, nobles existed.
Troublesome… but also convenient.
Kavi, who was running low on funds, set his sights on the rich.
He found a cozy little pub, ordered some wine, and waited for nightfall.
'Time to go hunting.'
The next morning, the town buzzed with panic. Several noble families had been mysteriously robbed.
Despite extensive searches, the missing Berries were never found.
Not that they ever would be.
All the loot now sat safely stored inside Kavi's system space, far beyond the reach of any search.
Locals would later call it one of the town's, top ten "unexplained mysteries."
Meanwhile, the "culprit" was feasting on delicacies and sipping fine wine at a local inn.
'It's nice to have money.'
A few days later, with a full stomach and full purse, Kavi acquired some old nautical charts. Based on his hazy memory, he finally pinpointed the rumored location of a legendary weapon.
Asuka Island.
There, sealed away, lay the Seven-Star Sword—a blade once declared by fans to be the strongest sword in the One Piece world.
Kavi's memory of the movie it featured in was fuzzy, but he remembered enough to know it was worth the trip.
He bought a small ship and a navigation book—this time determined not to wander aimlessly like a fool.
Over the next few months, he slowly learned the art of navigation.
After countless detours and wrong turns, he finally stepped ashore at Asuka Island.
'Land… sweet land.'
The island was the size of a small town. First things first, Kavi found an inn and settled in.
The Seven-Star Sword was said to be sealed away by a shrine maiden. In the movie, Luffy had met one named Maya.
Who was guarding it now?
He stayed for more than ten days, gathering information.
Everyone on the island seemed to know about the sword—but no one would speak of it openly.
They called it a cursed blade, one that devoured its wielder and turned them into a bloodthirsty monster.
Only a witch could suppress it.
Determined, Kavi approached the town mayor and spent several days building rapport.
"Grandpa, can't you take me to see it?"
Mayor Ster gave him a weary look. "Kavi, it's not that I don't want to. That sword is too dangerous. It requires constant suppression by a witch. I have to prioritize the safety of the town."
Ster had grown fond of Kavi—he was respectful, helpful, and most importantly… wealthy.
"But can I at least meet the witch?" Kavi persisted. "Maybe I can help."
Ster hesitated. "The last priestess lost her life sealing the blade. The current one… she's not even ten years old."
Kavi blinked. "A child?"
"It's risky. If anything happens to her, the seal might break again. We can't afford another disaster."
"Then let me talk to her. If she agrees, you'll take me to see the sword?"
The mayor studied him for a long moment, then sighed. "Fine. But don't get your hopes up. The girl is careful and won't allow anyone near the seal. Still… if she agrees, I'll keep my word."
Kavi grinned. "Deal."
The next morning, Mayor Ster led him into the forest outside the town. They hiked up a narrow trail that wound its way to the top of a small hill, where a modest house stood.
Ster knocked gently on the door.
"Little Rosa! Are you home?"
After a moment, the door creaked open.
A young girl with long blue hair and a bright, innocent smile stood there. Her skin was fair, her eyes pure. Despite her small frame, she carried a quiet strength.
"Grandpa Ster! What are you doing here?"
"Just checking in. How are you holding up, little Rosa?"
"I'm fine," she said, though her eyes drooped slightly. "Just bored."
"Haha, well, I brought you a visitor."
He stepped aside, revealing Kavi.
"This is Kavi. You can call him Uncle Kavi. He's got something to ask you."
Kavi stepped forward with a gentle smile. "Hi there. I'm Kavi. Or just Kavi, no need for 'uncle' if you don't want."
Rosa blushed slightly, then extended her hand nervously.
"I'm Kallen Rosa. You can call me Rosa."
'What a polite little girl.'
Kavi quickly took her hand and shook it, his large fingers wrapping gently around her tiny palm.
"Okay, okay, let's head inside," Ster said, stretching his back. "My old bones can't handle all this standing."
"Oh! Sorry, Grandpa Ster!" Rosa quickly stepped aside to let them in.
The house was small but well-kept. Clearly, she hadn't been neglected—though the loneliness of the place was palpable.
They sat at the table, and Rosa poured them tea.
Kavi glanced around, noting the small charms and talismans scattered throughout the house.
A witch's home, indeed.
And this little girl… she was its guardian.
'How strong must she be, to hold back a sword said to devour even its wielder?'
He took a sip of the tea.
It was time to make his case.
