Chapter 34 - chapter thirty four

RNB and soft music filled the air as we drove off into the night, God knows where, but I was excited to follow him anywhere. I turned to look at him, finding him already staring at me with an intensity that made my skin crawl.

"What?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Just thinking," he confessed, his gaze never leaving mine. "About what?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

"How beautiful you are right now," he said, his voice low and husky, sending shivers down my spine. My soul melted at his words. "Stop it," I blushed, trying to hide my smile.

He laughed loudly, the sound sending a thrill through me. "Really, though, you're the most beautiful and attractive woman I've ever seen," he said, his eyes locked on mine, filled with a serious intensity.

My face dropped, and he looked at me with a worried expression, as if he'd said something wrong. "What?" Slavvy asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

I shook my head, trying to process my emotions. "It's just that...no guy has ever told me I'm beautiful before," I mumbled, feeling a little embarrassed.

Slavvy's expression softened, and he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair behind my ear. "Probably, they couldn't find the words to describe how gorgeous you are," he said, his voice filled with conviction.

But as he spoke, his eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if he was trying to own me. I felt a shiver run down my spine.

"Come here," he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief, and I raised an eyebrow, curious.

"What?" I asked, playing along.

"Come sit on me," he said, his grin growing wider, and I laughed, shaking my head.

"But you're driving," I pointed out, trying to reason with him.

Slavvy chuckled. "I know. I'm a professional driver, remember?" He winked at me, and I rolled my eyes, laughing.

"You're going to get us arrested," I teased, trying to hide my smile.

He laughed again, the sound filling the car. "For your information, I'm a very professional driver." I looked at him, raising an eyebrow, and he grinned. "Trust me."

But as he spoke, his voice seemed to take on a darker tone, one that sent a shiver down my spine.

His eyes softened, and I felt a flutter in my chest. I gave in, sitting on his lap.

But as we drove, the music and the night air seemed to wrap around us like a trap, creating a sense of intimacy and connection that felt almost suffocating.

"What are you thinking about?" Slavvy whispered.

"Nothing," I said in a sleepy voice, smelling his intoxicating scent. He was absolutely breathtaking.

But as I looked into his eyes, I saw something there that made my heart skip a beat. Something dark and possessive.

And I wondered if I was in over my head.

It was already a ten-hour drive, and I was feeling very tired of the road. I slept like four times, talked and laughed many times, fought over which is the greatest book ever, and I was winning the topic, so he stopped talking to me, and I slept.

"Wake up, my beautiful lady," he said, and I childishly ignored him.

"Not talking to me, huh?" He said, and I tried to not laugh.

"Okay, then I guess I'll open up these doors so lions can get in," he said, and I couldn't tell if he was being serious or playing, but I had to look up, and he was playing.

", you scared me," I hit him, and he laughed out loudly.

"Not funny," I rolled my eyes, a little bit amused.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he apologetically laughed louder, cracking.

"You should see your expression right now; it's adorable," he laughed, snorting.

And I got out of the car, acting childishly angry, and he followed me.

"Testimony, Tess, I'm joking! Come back!" he said, in-between laughs, grabbing me and tickling me from behind, and I laughed loudly, begging him to stop.

"Stop, please!" I begged, laughing, trying to catch my breath over the tickles.

"Not until you forgive me," he said, tickling me more.

"I forgive you, I forgive you! Stop now!" I laughed, crying, while I begged, and he stopped.

"That's my girl," he said, turning me around, and a huge smile was on my lips.

And his hands picked me up by surprise, and I looked up at him as a small smirk formed on his face as he gave me a forehead kiss.

I felt a rush of excitement mixed with a hint of fear. There was something about Slavvy that drew me in, something that made me feel alive. But there was also something that scared me, something that made me wonder if I was in over my head.

"Welcome to my secret happy place," he said, and I looked around the amazing beautiful mountains covered in beautiful flowers and trees.

He put me down, and in front of me, there stood a beautiful glass villa covered in trees, and there was a beautiful waterfall. I was just utterly speechless.

"Wow" were the only words I could manage to say.

"I figured you needed a break from reality. If it were up to me, I'd live here with you forever," he slowly said, and I smiled, then kissed him.

As we walked inside the house, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Something didn't feel right. But I pushed the feeling aside, telling myself I was just being paranoid.

The villa was beautiful, with shelves of books decorating the stairs and wooden modern furniture complementing the villa.

"It's beautiful in here," I said.

"Come, let me show you something," he held my hand as we ran upstairs, and there was a huge man-made lake, with a huge pool.

He took off his shirt, wanting to go for a swim, but it was like nighttime already, and I was exhausted.

"Are you seriously swimming right now?" I asked him, and he nodded excitedly.

"Come In, the water is not that deep," he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

I shook my head, feeling a little self-conscious. "I...I... I don't know how to swim," I admitted, feeling a twinge of embarrassment.

Slavvy's expression softened, and he swam closer to the edge. "You don't, but-" He stopped speaking.

"He was teaching me how to swim, like, once," I continued, and a small fake smile formed on his lips, showing a little bit of hurt.

"It's okay," he said, his voice low and soothing.

I took off my dress while he wasn't watching and wore his shirt, feeling a sense of comfort and security. "Help me," I said, walking closer to the pool and sitting down at the edge.

Slavvy picked me up and put me inside the water, not letting go of me. The water was a little cold, but good. I rested my arms around his neck, not wanting to let him go. My lips were an inch from his as my breaths became heavier, butterflies filling my stomach.

"I'm sorry about everything," he said, cutting the silence.

"About what?" I asked, confused.

"About everything," he apologized, and I smiled.

"I'm sorry too," I said, and he smiled back.

We swam for a bit, just holding each other, a beautiful song playing in the background out of nowhere.

"Would you be mine forever?" he asked, his tone husky and small,

...and I looked at him, speechless. The water sparkled around us, and the stars shone bright above, but all I could focus on was the intensity in his eyes.

"You don't have to answer now, but just know that I love you," he said, his voice low and husky, sending shivers down my spine.

I felt a rush of emotions as we glanced at each other

We broke apart for air, and Slavvy looked at me with a fierce intensity. "I'll never let you go," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine.

I felt a thrill of excitement mixed with a hint of fear. What did he mean? Was he promising to love me forever, or was he warning me that I was trapped?

But as the night wore on, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, that there was something Slavvy wasn't telling me. And I wondered if I was ready to face the secrets he might be hiding....

....
