Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Fate’s a weird thing.

"You sure I don't have to come back" Silva asked one more time as he spoke to Chiron through the mist he created with the garden hose.

"Silva, you have been in the camp for almost your entire life ever since Pan had raised you till you were five. It is time you have a life outside of the supernatural. So don't worry about the camp until the summer vacations" Chiron said with a smile. "And stop dragging your feet and go, its your first day"

Chiron cut off the call before Silva could say anything else.

Seeing that even Chiron was pushing him to go. Silva decided not to drag his feet and start his first day.

He checked the time and found out that there is a bus within ten minutes of walking distance right now.

"Alright then, lets see how the first day goes" he muttered to himself as he picked up his bag and exited the property gate, but the moment he did, he heard a familiar voice arguing.

"I can go on my own dad, I don't want a chauffer to get me to high school on the first day, or any other day ever" the girl said while trying to get away from her house.

'Oh, please don't be what I think it is' Silva thought as he turned towards the right and like some cosmic joke, the girl turned around and locked eyes with him at the exact same time.

"You!!" Rachel Elizabeth Dare was his neighbour.

After an hour.

Silva sat down in his class after successfully running away from Rachel the moment she recognised him when he exited his house. He cannot believe that the house gifted to him by his senior, converted to this dimension by the almighty god of the multiverse ended up right next to the house of Rachel like some big cosmic joke.

Silva still had no idea about how to deal with her, so he had decided to go to school for now, that was why he ran without giving her a chance to say anything at all.

'I'll deal with it if she's there at home when I return, but for now classes' he thought as he prepared for the first period.

The first period had gone without any problems. The students looked at him with interest as he was a new transfer, plus the addition of his silver hair and eyes attracted the attention of almost the majority of his class.

And Silva's natural introverted personality had worked in his favor today. He had no idea on how to mingle with these people as the only thing he can speak about are killing monsters. The trends he was familiar with are decades in the future, so he has to be careful with what he says to them. But his silent demeanour had actually helped in avoiding the students of the school. They were not aversed or weirded out by him, but they actually felt like there was a barrier preventing them from interacting with him.

After the first period was over, everyone began going out for the break. Most of them had the best gossip about the new transfer student, so they wanted to meet their friends and speak to them about him.

"Alright Mr…..Silva, I suppose. Your second name is not written" The teacher commented while looking at the attendance sheet.

"Complicated family circumstances ma'am" Silva replied which earned an understanding nod from the teacher.

Silva was pretty sure that the teacher can never guess how complicated his life actually is, two mothers, Greek and roman pantheon. Untangling that family drama will take up too much energy. So, its better to keep his family name blank for now.

"Alright, we got a student volunteer who handles orientation for us, so you can meet her by the faculty office." The teacher said while giving him the directions to the faculty office.

Silva nodded and went on his way. While walking through the hallways, he can feel being stared up by a lot of students, but he did not sense any sort of malicious intent with his senses, so he decided to ignore it for now.

He then reached the Faculty office, and the moment he got in, he knew he was being trolled by the universe right now.

"Hello There, New Transfer Stu-dent!" Rachel said while emphasizing every single word.

Silva knew he had lost the chance to run away.

So, it seems like Rachel used to move around schools a lot because of her abilities. Since she can see monsters, there is a chance that the monsters themselves will discover that she can see them. So, Rachel decided to not stay in a single school and move so that she can hide the fact that she can see the monsters which are normally invisible to everybody else.

She had joined this school last year and decided to stay since Silva had given her an explanation to her powers. And realising that there might be a chance she might go in some worse Pantheon, Rachel decided to not play with her fate. She was lucky that she had been in the vicinity of Greek pantheon which had monsters that mostly ignored the mortals unless they are related to any gods. If she had been in a volatile pantheon that had the ability to figure out about her sight, it would not have ended so well.

"Alright, so you mean to tell me that an all-powerful demigod like you goes to school like a normal person because all of you just retire or something after you reach twenty" Rachel asked while they sat on the school cafeteria trying to not look at the food which seemed like it was made for being used as projectile weapons.

"Essentially yes, monsters hunts demigods by following a sort of scent that they give out when they are young, the more they grow, the more the scent fades away. So basically, if they survive till twenty or so, they decide to retire and live anormal life, unless they get some kind of job like Herakles" Silva said while drinking the orange juice, which was safe since it came in a packet and was filled with normal preservatives.

A/N- hope you like it.
