This story is about Amanda a lady who's mother died living her and her little brother (Philip)behind so as time goes on their father Mr Kenner was forced to marry a single mother who goes by the name Maria who has a daughter named Cynthia , Mr Kenneth met Maria in a restaurant where she came to eat and they both became friends before he was able to ask her out and unfortunately she agreed that she would date him and after some time they got married
Mr Kenneth is a business owner who sell motor parts and also a car dealer he is a wealthy man, while Maria is a nurse who works in a hospital, Maria moved in with Kenneth and played a rule of a mother to his kids , Amanda never liked Maria for one day because she always pretends to be a caring mother only when Mr Kenner is around but when he's gone she would show her real character and maltreat them most times she would not feed them feed them she would starve them from morning till when Mr Kenneth is back, but she would feed her daughter (Cynthia) and make sure she is satisfied .
Amanda is fifteen years, while her brother Philip is twelve years old while their step sister is 13 years old , at a tender age Amanda was forced to go out and look for money ,when ever Mr Kenneth goes to work and Maria her stop mom isn't around she would go out and sell pure water and make profit so as to provide for her brother.
One cool evening Amanda lied to their gate man that she was going to her classmates house to do her homework unknown to the gate man that Amanda was going to hawk water , so that very day mr Kenneth was heading home from work so while he was driving he saw Amanda on the streets hawking he was so surprised that he had to pull over and step down he called out to Amanda and she wanted to hide but mr Kenneth ran and held her "what are you doing here"he asked and Amanda stared crying and explaining why she was hawking "I am trying to raise money aunty Maria doesn't keep food for us anymore"she said in tears and Mr Kenneth throw away the pocket of water she was carrying on her head and asked her to get into the car and they drove home
When they got home she asked Maria why she hasn't been feeding the kids well and why she was starving them but she denied it and faked a lie " honey I did not starve anyone when ever I make any dish Amanda would say she doesn't like my food that I am not a good,she always condemned my cooking"Maria lied and mr Kenneth believed her and scolded Amanda
