Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: The Instinct of Life

The battle continued.

High above, the angels' attacks remained razor-sharp!

Each of the seven angels had already endured multiple strikes from Yum. Every attack from Yum corroded them further, causing tremendous damage. Yet every time, even in extreme weakness, they recovered.

Wang Zhi had been right.

In the Trial World, all beings who believed in angels were the source of the angels' power. Their prayers, their faith, were the support that made the angels indestructible!

Although much of the population of this world had been lost, the number of devout believers remaining was still virtually endless.

Like the Ring of Virtues spinning ceaselessly to the ends of time, these angels would fight against the demons invading the worlds of the Master's creation until the very end!

---

"Slash!"

One angel swung its weapon, accompanied by a holy rainbow-like glow, aiming for Yum's neck.

Thud!

The scales on Yum's neck emitted a terrifying impact sound. His previously invincible Abyssal defenses… failed to fully protect him.

Thud!

One of Yum's heads, as massive as a mountain, slammed into the ground like a meteor. The resulting shockwave caused the continent to collapse further. Many aliens living in this world frantically fled the poisonous devastation and terrifying earthquakes Yum caused. Yet the weak, unable to control space, perished miserably.

And all of this—was merely a battle between the pinnacle creations of two supreme masters: Yum versus the angels! Their clash had already deeply damaged the foundation of this planet.

---

"Roar!"

Yum exerted his power again, clamping down on an angel and attempting to crush its entire body in his jaws. He tried to annihilate the "reborn" angel completely.

But…

The "undying" angel escaped Yum's jaw-formed cage once more, and before escaping, it punched a massive blood hole in Yum's head! Another of Yum's heads now hung weakly atop his body.

---

"Ah…"

Yum suddenly heard a sigh behind him—from the master of the Endless Abyss.

"Master…"

Even amid battle, Yum's attention was fully on the Abyssal Lord. Hearing the sigh, he instinctively thought it meant his abilities were being denied.

"Stand down, Yum."

Chu Hao's face remained expressionless, devoid of joy or anger, as he spoke the words.

"I still have…"

Yum still had four heads, rapidly regenerating, capable of continuing the fight. But…

"No matter. I have already seen the outcome of this battle. You may return to the Endless Abyss."

---

Hearing this, Yum ceased attacking, adopting a defensive stance while gradually retreating into the Abyss, leaving behind the shattered planet and all that had been corrupted by his presence.

No matter what he desired, the will of the Endless Abyss was absolute.

---

"Villain, have you chosen death?"

With Yum's departure, the angels immediately surrounded Chu Hao.

Chu Hao himself, however, smiled up at the proud angels in the sky, letting out laughter.

"Death? Me?"

"Ha ha ha ha!"

Hearing Chu Hao's laughter, the angels drew their weapons again, aiming at him.

"No, no, no, you misunderstand!"

Chu Hao waved his hand, speaking to them.

"From the very beginning, I've only been observing you. I was merely…"

"Conducting research!"

"From the start, I never considered your existence…"

As he spoke, Chu Hao transformed into a pitch-black mist. Within the fog, a pair of black-red spiral eyes watched the angels with disdain.

"Don't take me lightly!"

---

"!!!"

The angels, seeing Chu Hao in this form, immediately became cautious, unsure of his intentions.

But unexpectedly, from within the black fog, Chu Hao threw out a soul.

---

"This is…"

Even the angels were shocked. What was Chu Hao attempting?

A corrupted, utterly vile soul was cast before the angels. All could sense it belonged to this native world.

Yet unlike their teachings, the soul's owner had fallen to the extreme. At its core, the seed of faith that once represented the Seven Virtues had become black, twisted by corruption.

Before the angels could react, the soul began to dissolve.

---

Chu Hao's voice sounded.

"Just like your foolish masters, you ignorant creatures do not understand life at all!"

As the soul dissolved, black tendrils latched onto one angel like a bone worm, impossible to remove.

"Life cannot exist only in terms of virtue!"

The angel screamed, struggling to remove it, but even the Ring of Virtues could not help.

"Life itself is like chaos!"

"There is good, taught through education, and evil, born of the soul and instinct!"

The angel shrieked as its power permanently weakened with the soul's dissolution. Though small, the effect was real.

---

"As long as there is life, there will be desire!"

"Desire for food… for reproduction…"

Another soul appeared from Chu Hao's black fog, equally fallen and twisted.

One after another, more souls emerged, igniting, then dissolving before him.

The scent of these burning souls, their "sin," filled Chu Hao's nostrils, bringing him satisfaction.

"I love the smell of what you call sin… but now, it's your turn!"
