The purpose of this slaughter was only one thing.
Selection!
As long as the Endless Abyss exists, all the creatures within it will continue to kill each other, and only the strongest among them can survive.
This was determined by the Abyss itself.
Its harsh and barren environment ensured that only the strongest in the Abyss could obtain the best resources—whether food, territory, or opportunities.
Everything depended on strength!
That was why Chu Hao decided to launch a slaughtering frenzy where only one would remain, to select the strongest!
However, Chu Hao's actions this time would be seen as extreme by others.
They couldn't understand why so many powerful primal demons were treated by Chu Hao as mere "parasites" for "feeding."
These creatures, already legendary, should be considered valuable resources in any Divine Realm world. Each one should dominate a region, even lead a small civilization…
But to Chu Hao, they were at most…
consumables!

All the primal demons, with the help of the Gate of Space-Time, quickly arrived in a desolate and withered plane.
This plane had clearly just been reshaped by Chu Hao. Its area was pitifully small, and some of its rules had been temporarily "reinforced" by him.
What was more unusual was that the plane exhibited a peculiar "stable" state: no excessive poison fog, no thick smoke, no terrifying ice, and none of the all-consuming lava.
In short, this plane seemed like the ideal habitat for Abyss creatures.
Yet the moment any primal demon entered, it instinctively lurked on the ground or hid using the environment, surveying its surroundings.
This was because the environment here differed greatly from their native planes.
Any creature with animal instincts would naturally feel cautious in an unfamiliar setting.
But this caution quickly vanished—not because they adapted, but because caution itself had become meaningless.
At the center of this withered plane, Chu Hao sat cross-legged.
At this moment, as the master of the Endless Abyss, he revealed a terrifying truth to the primal demons.
The demons' innate bloodlines soon understood it.
"Before you attack each other, I must let you know a terrifying fact…"
A vortex of the Endless Abyss appeared above the plane, shrouding it in countless thick clouds, making all primal demons feel nearly suffocated.
"Originally, all life here has been cleared out by me."
A raging wind swept across the plains, stirring a dreadful storm.
"This means… your only food here is each other!"
"Do not imagine surviving by merely adapting to this extreme environment to become the last winner…"
A cold gleam appeared in Chu Hao's eyes.
He knew that many primal demons might endure even in such barren conditions, possibly until the very end. And this was a real possibility.
After all, demons with strong potential could struggle to outlast cunning peers if food was scarce.
Among demons, clever and ruthless creatures were not rare. Their brutality was superficial; deep in their chaotic souls lay cunning, greedy instincts.
If, in the end, a demon survived only by these means and gained a drop of divine blood…
Then Chu Hao's plan would essentially fail. This was not his intention. He needed warriors.
He needed warriors who could survive such horrifying slaughter until the very end.
After saying this, a faint smile appeared on Chu Hao's lips. He could sense a trace of blood in the winds of this plane, and deep within that blood was the scent of fear born from trembling.
And this scent made him feel…
satisfied!

"Roar!"
A massive legendary Flame Demon swung its molten greatsword, striking the abdomen of a Serpentine Demon!
This legendary Serpentine Demon had a snake-like lower body, but atop it were two muscular and terrifying upper torsos, each with a different malevolent soul. In time, it might even grow a third torso.
Even if one torso was cut off by the Flame Demon's sword, it continued fighting with the other intact body.
Finally, after losing half its body and most of its skin, the Serpentine Demon shredded the powerful Flame Demon's body.
With a roar of victory, it endured the pain to devour its opponent.
As it consumed the flesh, its severed torso began visibly healing—a power retained since its demon larva stage: immense regenerative ability.
Given time, it would regrow the second torso, though it did not know what terrifying mutation might occur this time.
Yet, the Serpentine Demon did not relax its vigilance after victory. On the contrary, it stared with eyes full of malice, greed, and hatred.
Across from it, a victorious Shadow Demon devoured a still-screaming Howler Demon, staring back with the same greedy gaze.
After finishing their respective meals, the two demons paused, preparing for the next battle and feast.
At that moment, the Serpentine Demon's body began to grow a new head, seemingly with fire abilities, sprouting rapidly from their shared body.
Meanwhile, the Shadow Demon's internal organs twisted as it seemed to absorb the Howler Demon's powers…
The battle was about to resume!

"How interesting!"
Chu Hao rested his chin in his hand, floating above, observing everything unfolding in the plane.
From his perception, all surviving demons were rapidly surpassing their own limits.
Some of the best had already reached the peak of legendary status.
Moreover, their growth showed no sign of slowing.
Seeing all this, a faint smile curved Chu Hao's lips.
"I really want to know…"
"Who will win?"
