Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Strong and the Weak

"Unless… among these demons, some are destined to be the weak, to be enslaved by others!"

Chu Hao's mind sparked like lightning as he observed the primordial demons below tearing each other apart for prey.

"The nature of primordial demons is to dominate the weak while strengthening themselves!"

"Moreover, they will hunt down any demon they encounter simply to eliminate competition and make themselves stronger!"

Below, a four-armed, peak-level tenth-stage demon tore apart a serpent-tailed primordial demon, while another pair engaged in a fierce fight nearby.

"No matter how weak or harmless a demon seems, they will strike with lethal force!"

"They know that any 'weaker' demon, if left alive, could one day surpass them!"

Two demons, having dealt with their respective opponents, immediately turned on each other.

To them, the other was pure enemy—no cooperation, no compromise.

Chu Hao watched the deadly struggle and spoke quietly to himself.

"Primordial demons are a species that cannot submit to one another!

From the very beginning, cooperation is impossible; their relationships are the ultimate zero-sum game!"

"No demon will kneel before another, even knowing the other is stronger and they are weaker!"

---

The battle below concluded.

The last demon standing was a terrifying creature: four arms, serpent-like lower body, and curved horns atop its head.

Around him, no other primordial demon dared challenge him.

All other demons were the weak.

He could now consume everything around him: the corpse of the abyssal creature and the remnants of fallen demons.

He was the sole survivor, the strong.

All others were the weak.

---

Chu Hao laughed heartily as he watched the demon devour its prey.

"Ha ha ha! Weak and strong!"

He had finally understood the solution to the problem that had been troubling him.

"Yes! That's it! The solution is… not to solve it!"

What he needed most wasn't to artificially empower certain demons with the ability to use the rules.

Nor was it to artificially create a small number of "powerful" rule-wielding demon warriors.

"My previous approach…"

Chu Hao sighed and took a deep breath. The sulfur-scented dry air invigorated him.

"It was wrong from the start!"

Even if he could artificially create a few powerful demon soldiers, their numbers would be far too few.

Even using an entire plane as their incubation pool and the entire Abyss as a resource, their numbers would still be insufficient—especially for the fourth assessment.

He knew the challenge well: an invasion led by demons required overwhelming numbers.

Whether through direct teleportation to the target world or slow incursion through invasion passages, the demon soldiers had to far outnumber the enemy.

---

"So what I truly need to do is… artificially create vast numbers of ordinary demons that can be enslaved by the primordial demons!"

Chu Hao's eyes gleamed with cold light.

A terrifying thought crystallized in his mind.

"Their bloodlines will be sealed by the Abyss' power…"

"They will lose most of their evolutionary potential!"

"Yet, they will naturally possess a few abilities: flight, minor spellcasting… and more."

Though weak compared to primordial demons, they will not threaten the stronger demons.

And yet, the primordial demons will still kill them—eat them!

Eliminating the weak is an instinct etched in the bones of all abyssal creatures.

But Chu Hao had already prepared for that.

He had a cruel solution.

"No matter…"

A smile appeared on Chu Hao's face.

"Besides serving as soldiers for the invasion, these creatures will… become the Endless Abyss' eternal providers!"

"They may feel anger and resentment, and occasionally resist, but their bloodline will carry a false instinct of submission to the primordial demons. Resistance will be rare."

"They will be accepted quickly by the primordial demons.

They will become the providers of the Abyss: food for the hungry, labor for constructing abyssal structures, raw material for magic, and… more."

The horror of this realization would strike fear into anyone.

Yet Chu Hao was not done.

Rows of crimson numbers appeared before him.

For the first time, Chu Hao began designing artificial abyssal beings.

The numbers constantly shifted. Formulas were constructed and erased in the blink of an eye.

Chu Hao stood on the cliff, muttering:

"The resources needed to create them are minimal… almost negligible!"

"Their vast numbers will be continuously replenished by the Endless Abyss!"

"They will be born in specially designed planes and, upon emergence, scattered across various random planes by the Abyss' chaotic rules, providing for the primordial demons!"

"From birth, their fate will be governed by chaos!"

He took a deep breath. A sketch of a small, mischievous demon appeared before him.

"From this moment, the evolution history of the demon race in the Endless Abyss will be rewritten!"

"One part will be the countless, powerless, ordinary demons, and the other part…"

"Will be the carefully nurtured, terrifyingly potential-filled, ever-evolving primordial demons!"
