Chapter 135 - Ch-135 The Fall of Spandam and the Buster Call.

Gojo was running through the corridor of the Tower of Justice, following Spandam's trail. The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the long stone hallway as he closed the distance between them little by little.

Spandam was desperately running away from Gojo, hoping that Kaku would be able to hold him off, even if only for a few minutes. As long as Rob Lucci responded to his call and reached him in time, he still had a chance.

He had already announced for Rob Lucci to come to him, but until now, Lucci had still not appeared by his side, and that was definitely concerning for him.

As Spandam glanced back and saw Gojo rapidly closing in from behind, fear immediately filled his face. His breathing became ragged and he started shouting again just like before.

"Help me! Where the hell are you all? He is going to kill me, the commander of Enies Lobby! If that happens, then you CP9 agents won't be spared either. You all will be punished severely!"

His voice echoed loudly through the corridor.

Spandam was not only cursing the agents of CP9, but also venting all of his fear and anger because, at this point, he had no other choice left anyway. Sweat dripped down the side of his face as he stumbled forward, his legs feeling heavier with every second.

Why are they still not here...?

With Gojo's speed, however, it was not difficult at all for him to catch up to Spandam. The distance between them shrank rapidly, and soon enough, Gojo was right behind him.

Without slowing down, Gojo raised his leg and delivered a powerful kick directly into Spandam's back.

"AAAAAH!"

Spandam was sent rolling across the floor violently. His body spun several times before he crashed hard into the side wall of the corridor with a loud thud. Dust and bits of broken stone fell around him as he dropped to the ground in pain.

The wall had also cracked from Spandam's collision. Fragments of stone had fallen around him, and a shallow dent had formed where his body had slammed into it.

Spandam groaned in pain and rolled over with difficulty. His entire body ached from the kick, but he still forced himself to sit up on the ground. Facing Gojo, who was slowly walking toward him, Spandam's trembling hand immediately reached inside his pocket.

Soon, he took out a Golden Den Den Mushi.

Even though fear was visible on his face, he still tried to speak in a threatening manner.

"You see this? This is a Golden Den Den Mushi which was given to me by Admiral Aokiji."

He held up the Golden Den Den Mushi with shaking fingers.

"If I press the button on this Den Den Mushi, then this whole island will be filled with cannons, fireballs, everything, and this whole island will be raised to the ground. Do you really dare to kill me? If you take even a single step forward, I will press this button immediately. You will die when the Marines reach here after I invoke the Buster Call."

The corridor became silent for a moment after Spandam finished speaking. The only sound that remained was the faint echo of footsteps and the distant noise of chaos spreading across Enies Lobby.

However, as soon as Gojo heard Spandam's words, his expression did not change even in the slightest.

"Do you really think that with my strength, I will fear a Buster Call?"

Gojo's calm voice echoed through the damaged corridor.

"Go ahead and press that button if you have the guts. I assure you that even before you are able to press the button on the Golden Den Den Mushi to invoke the Buster Call, you will be dead."

There was not even an ounce of fear in Gojo's eyes.

He had complete confidence in his own strength.

Seeing Gojo respond like that, Spandam definitely hesitated. His fingers, which had been hovering over the Golden Den Den Mushi, froze in place. Cold sweat dripped down the side of his face as his lips trembled slightly.

Why is he not afraid...?

Gojo slowly stepped closer.

One step.

Then another.

The sound of his footsteps felt unbearably heavy inside Spandam's ears.

By now, Spandam had completely lost the threatening look from before. Fear had already overwhelmed him, and he could not stop himself from leaning back against the broken wall.

When Gojo finally stood directly in front of him, looking down at Spandam lying helplessly on the ground, he slowly raised his sword above his head.

The black blade gleamed ominously in the corridor.

"As I said before, I will come to Enies Lobby and have your head."

Gojo's eyes remained fixed on Spandam.

"Now is the time to fulfill my words, to fulfill my promise to you."

As soon as Gojo said this, Spandam was covered in cold sweat.

He was sweating bullets.

His breathing became heavier and heavier, and his hands trembled so much that he could barely hold the Golden Den Den Mushi properly anymore. In his fear, he had even forgotten to press the button on it.

Spandam started shouting in panic.

"You can't kill me! My father is very close to the Celestial Dragons! If you kill me, then you will be hunted down everywhere! You won't have a place in this world at all!"

His voice cracked from fear.

"How about you let me live and I will also ask my father to have your bounty removed, and you will be a free man without a bounty!"

Spandam's eyes were wide open as he desperately tried to bargain for his life. He no longer looked like the arrogant commander of Enies Lobby from before. Right now, he only looked like a man terrified of death.

As soon as Gojo heard this, he let out a small chuckle.

"Even before dying, your last few words are lies."

Gojo's voice was calm, but there was coldness hidden within it.

"I did not expect that even though death is standing right in front of you, you still have the guts to lie."

Gojo slowly tightened his grip on the sword in his hand.

"I would have definitely believed your words if you were not reeking of malice. I can feel that malice coming out of you."

The corridor fell silent.

Spandam's pupils shrank.

The next second, Gojo swung his sword horizontally in a perfect motion.

The black blade cut through the air with a sharp sound and passed cleanly through Spandam's neck.

For a few brief seconds, Spandam's head remained frozen in place, as if his body itself had not yet understood what had happened.

Then, blood burst out from his severed neck.

Spandam's head fell from his shoulders and rolled across the ground, leaving a trail of blood behind it before finally coming to a stop.

His body remained standing for a brief moment before it collapsed limply onto the floor with a heavy thud.

Clearly, Spandam, the commander of Enies Lobby, had been killed by Gojo.

However, as if some final obsession still remained within his body even after death, the fingers of his severed hand twitched slightly.

The Golden Den Den Mushi slipped from his hand, but one finger brushed against the button.

Click.

For a brief moment, nothing happened inside the corridor.

Then the signal was immediately transmitted toward Marine Headquarters.

Far away from Enies Lobby, the atmosphere inside Marine Headquarters suddenly changed.

The alarm for a Buster Call had been activated.

Marines who had been working only moments ago immediately looked up in shock. The previously calm atmosphere became chaotic in an instant as footsteps rang through the halls and loud voices echoed everywhere.

"A Buster Call signal has been received!"

"Prepare the warships immediately!"

"Confirm the target location!"

The Marines moved without hesitation.

This was not an ordinary order.

A Buster Call was one of the most absolute commands within the Marines, and once it had been invoked, there was no room for delay.

Soon enough, they discovered that the location of the Buster Call was Enies Lobby itself.

That definitely confused many people.

"Enies Lobby?"

"Why would a Buster Call be called there?"

"What is happening over there?"

However, no matter how confused they were, none of them dared to question the order itself.

Because once a Buster Call had been invoked, it did not matter where the target was. The location had to be completely destroyed.

Immediately, the warships that had already been kept prepared for such emergencies started moving.

Cannons were loaded, soldiers boarded the ships, and officers began shouting orders one after another.

Soon, the fleet of Marine warships started advancing toward Enies Lobby through the sea, carrying with them enough firepower to completely erase the island from existence.
