Meanwhile,
At a U.S. military medical institute—
Emil Bronnsky lay on a medical table, covered in tubes as the doctors fought to save his life.
Back in Brazil, during the attempt to capture Bruce Banner, he'd been struck by Goenitz.
If he hadn't been built like iron, he would've been dead on the spot.
General Ross's recovery team eventually picked up his signal and found him deep in the forest. Though he had survived, his body was riddled with crushing fractures.
For a soldier, such an injury was a death sentence.
Modern medical technology managed to reconnect his shattered bones, but his flexibility and raw physical capability were gone for good.
Emil Bronnsky, of course, refused to accept that. General Ross didn't want to lose him either, and he blamed himself for not warning Bronnsky clearly about the mission's risks.
So Ross opened a long-sealed vial of Super Soldier Serum and prepared to inject it into Bronnsky.
Ross's pursuit of Banner was tied to this serum from the very beginning.
"Listen. This is going to hurt."
Bronsky smiled. With all the pain he'd endured already, what difference could this make?
"Do it."
He lay down, and a technician stepped forward with a spinal syringe.
"Hsss— AAAAAH!"
A strangled scream tore out of him. The spinal injection was agony so intense it made shattered bones feel like nothing.
But somehow, he endured it.
As the serum spread through his body, Bronnsky began to transform. His stiffened muscles and bones regained flexibility. Surgical scars faded. And most importantly—he could feel his strength skyrocketing.
After a day of recovery,
Ross summoned Bronnsky back into the combat unit.
"Based on what you reported, Bruce Banner has been constantly on the run—no signs of fighting back?"
"General, I've said this a dozen times: Bruce Banner didn't attack me. It was someone else." The newfound power subtly shifted Bronnsky's attitude—respect in his tone was thinning. "It was a priest. Didn't you check?"
"I investigated every priest Banner encountered. None match your description."
"Can't you track Banner's location? The main target is Banner, not some priest." Bronsky bit into an orange and muttered, "My target is that priest."
With his strength restored, Bronnsky's desire for revenge burned even hotter. He would find that priest. He would kill him.
A displeased look settled on Ross's face. He narrowed his eyes.
"Actually, I already know Bruce Banner's whereabouts. But we can't move on him yet."
"Why?! That's been your objective all along! You know where he is and you're not capturing him?"
"Young man, that's an order. Watch your tone."
Bronnsky instantly straightened. "Yes, sir!"
"Sit. Your next mission is to capture 'Mr. Blue.'"
————————
"Mr. Blue" was Samuel Stern.
Ever since the day Xu Dan abruptly barged into the "blue-green" online chat, Stern had been ignored.
Without any new blood samples from "Mr. Green," Stern was forced to revisit his old samples. He claimed to want to help Banner eliminate the Hulk—but secretly, he had concentrated Banner's mailed blood into a serum.
If he could extract a drug from it, he would become famous.
But today, he ran into a serious problem.
As he retrieved his old samples for study, elite military units quietly surrounded his building.
At their head—Bronsky.
His speed and strength had surged far beyond human limits. Before receiving any orders, he kicked the front door clean off its hinges and stormed into the lab.
Dr. Samuel Stern—bookish and soft—jumped in terror. The test tube in his hand slipped and shattered.
Inside it was a nearly irreplaceable serum.
"Mr. Blue, raise your hands and turn around!" Bronsky barked, weapon in hand.
Stern didn't dare resist. Under a gun barrel, even if he had ten lives, he wouldn't risk one.
But when he turned around, no one stepped in to cuff him.
Instead—
The moment Stern faced him, Bronsky suddenly lunged, grabbing one of the accompanying soldiers and snapping his neck with a single brutal twist.
Swift, powerful, merciless—he moved as if he had planned this slaughter long ago.
In less than five breaths, he had killed all four soldiers who came with him.
Stern stared in horror.
Was this man insane? Killing his own unit?
Yet Bronsky displayed no guilt. He clicked his tongue in irritation.
"Damn it."
Three months of pent-up rage burned in his eyes.
He approached Stern.
"Mr. Blue—last night I sneaked a look at Ross's files, including the chat logs between you and Mr. Green. That's when I learned creatures like that actually exist in this world."
"C-creatures…?" Stern shrank back from Bronnsky's expression.
"Oh, that's not the right word. More like… a power beyond anything else."
"I—"
Before Stern could speak, Bronsky seized him by the throat.
"Cut the nonsense. I know everything from your chats. Inject me with the serum—now."
"Okay! Okay! Just—just let go!"
Bronsky released him and swaggered to the experimental table, lying down as if he were checking into a spa.
Stern, ever the honest academic, knew full well that injecting something untested could kill the man instantly—but he obediently picked up the refined serum and injected it.
"I—I can't guarantee safety. No one has ever dared to test—"
"Shut up."
"…Oh."
Bronsky was lucky.
The transformation took.
His body expanded, muscles distorting as a force stronger than any super soldier surged through him. His consciousness remained intact—but his body turned into a massive green monster.
Abomination was born.
Dr. Stern stared at the monstrous figure with a strange sense of accomplishment. Before he could even celebrate—
The Abomination swung a backhand and sent him flying.
Stern's head struck a metal corner, splitting the skin.
And he fell directly onto the spot where the earlier test tube had shattered.
