Spade Kingdom — Above the Capital
"Go to hell!" Zenon clasped his hands together, and the space cube fused with blood spikes.
Ladin's entire body was pierced through, turning him into a living red hedgehog.
"Ah— I… want to… vomit—!" Ladin let out a gut-wrenching scream.
The pain tore deep into his bones, robbing him of the ability to even form proper words.
Blood poured from his open wounds. Bone protruded through shredded flesh. If his body hadn't been tempered by demonic energy, he would've joined his "family" long ago.
What a sick joke.
Snap!
A dazzling ball of lightning crashed down from the sky, striking Ladin squarely.
"Release all the power of the Thunder Demon. Release all the power of the Fire Demon."
Electricity crackled through his body. Golden-red flames burst from his skin as broken bones knit back together. Flesh and muscle regenerated before their eyes.
"Blood and Space Fusion Magic: Cage." Zenon and Vanica unleashed the same spell again, determined not to let Ladin rise.
A space cube laced with blood spikes trapped him once more. The two pushed their demonic power to the limit—intent on obliterating him.
"Thunder Flame God Mode—activate!" Lightning blazed in Ladin's eyes.
Flames and thunder cloaked his entire body, and golden-red wings burst from his back. His overwhelming magic distorted the very air.
Their combined magic incinerated before it even reached him.
"How is that possible?!" Zenon shouted in disbelief.
"Curse…" Vanica stretched out her hands, channeling the magic of the highest demon, Megicula, to curse Ladin.
But he moved too fast. In the blink of an eye, he was in front of her—his flaming fist driving into her abdomen.
She gasped, her insides burning. A hot wave of nausea overtook her, and vomit!—a mouthful of green blood splattered out.
"Spa—" Zenon didn't even finish the word.
"Roar of the Thunder Flame Dragon!" Ladin unleashed a double-element dragon pillar.
The beam engulfed Zenon, turning his bones to charcoal.
That was the power of releasing two demonic energies—instantly crushing the Dark Triad siblings.
"I'll extract the demon from you." Ladin's hand pierced Vanica's chest, wrapping around her heart.
He began absorbing her demonic power.
"Bug. This isn't something you can touch. Megicula—stop watching."
Megicula's shadow appeared over Vanica, while Zenon's body was overtaken by Beelzebub. An icy chill swept through the Spade Kingdom. Those who survived dropped to their knees, trembling.
Was their kingdom about to be destroyed?
That was the might of upper-rank devils. Even without the gates of the underworld fully opened, they could descend into their hosts for a brief time.
"Beelzebub, send him to me. I like this human." Megicula appeared—small in stature, only about 1.23 meters tall.
Ram horns curved from her head, spotted wings stretched wide. She had three eyes, white hair, and the cruel smile of a child.
The highest-ranking demon—Megicula.
"Hey, you owe me for this." Beelzebub's voice was cold and ancient.
His horned head and wrinkled blackened face exuded death itself. Another upper-ranking devil.
"Ultimate Space Teleport!" (Ancient Spell)
Black space engulfed Ladin. Even in Thunder Flame God Mode, he couldn't escape the joint suppression of Beelzebub and Megicula.
He… laughed.
"Ha… ha… ha… What a joke. Me—someone with demonic energy—actually flinching in front of a real devil?"
How shameful.
"Release all four demonic energies!" Ladin roar cracked the heavens. The black space shattered like glass.
Beelzebub's face twisted in shock. "What's going on?!"
The two devils were using their hosts as temporary vessels. They never expected they wouldn't be able to return.
"Use the origin. Now!"
Beelzebub and Megicula released their demonic essence—the core of their existence in the underworld. Using it here meant risking everything.
Three overwhelming forces clashed in the sky above the Spade Kingdom.
The air itself froze.
Clover Kingdom — Wizard King's Office
Far away, Julius Novachrono knelt beside his desk, his face pale. Cold sweat drenched him. He clutched his chest, a long-forgotten memory clawing at the edges of his mind.
Who am I…?
"Wizard King, what happened?!"
Damnatio burst through the door to find Julius collapsed on the floor. He rushed to his side. "What's wrong with you?"
"I'm fine…" Julius whispered, though his trembling hands said otherwise.
Heart Kingdom — Royal Palace
Lolopechka clutched her abdomen, her limbs cold and slick with sweat.
"Pechka…" Undine's voice trembled with worry. As one of the four great water spirits, she could only watch helplessly.
Even her power couldn't stop the curse.
Charmy, Xiaoshui, and Lana stood nearby, faces tight with concern. The curse struck so fast—Lolopechka, usually so strong, collapsed under the pain.
"Pechka!!"
Undersea Temple
"Lord Poseidon is furious again. What do we do?" Kahono's voice wavered.
Leviathan, the Sea God, coiled its enormous body around the temple. Usually calm, the god now lashed out in destructive fury.
If it continued, the Undersea Temple would be destroyed.
"Kahono, Kiato, find the Black Bulls. Only they can help now," the white-haired High Priest ordered.
"Yes!" they shouted in unison before racing off.
Elysia
"Why aren't you awake yet?" Dryad frowned, watching Adam lie unconscious on the bed.
His wounds were fully healed, but he hadn't opened his eyes.
Could that damned thief have done something?
Princia, already awake thanks to her abnormal physical strength, stared blankly out the window.
"You thief! What did you do to Adam?" Dryad puffed up his cheeks and yelled.
"I've got nothing to do with that man. Do you want a beating, you idiot?" Princia's Sage Mode flared to life.
In a flash, she shoved Dryad backward.
"Y-you— I'm not scared of you!" Dryad stammered.
The once-fierce guardian angel now looked a little scared. The woman in front of him was a tiger ready to pounce.
Patolli and the others stood off to the side, refusing to intervene. They'd tried before—only to be called traitors to the elves.
They'd been at each other's throats for days.
No one noticed Adam's fingers twitch faintly on the bed.
Spade Kingdom — Underground Laboratory
"Another excellent piece of work!" Morris cackled in the dim light.
BANG!
Dante's eyes snapped open. Tubes ripped from his body as he smashed through the experimental chamber. He glanced at Morris, then rocketed upward.
He was going to tear Ladin apart.
Dante had returned. And the deadly battle in the sky had reached its climax.
"Become my nourishment!" Ladin roared, raising his hand toward the devil Beelzebub.
