The secretary was a little confused when Mr. Smith called Dr. Lee directly before she did. However, there was nothing else she could do but allow him to go in, seeing that he had already made personal contact with her boss.
She apologized to him for the delay and let him walk past her, giving him the directions of Dr. Lee's office.
It was immediately he walked into the corridor and was out of sight that she instantly recalled Dr. Lee checked out of his office that morning because he said he had an important meeting to attend.
She sat there in surprise, wondering how the guest would have spoken to Dr. Lee, and Dr. Lee did not tell him that he was going out of his office.
She was even more confused as she stood there contemplating the moment when Dr. Lee came back to the office, and she did not know that he was inviting a guest into his office.
It did not make sense at all because there was no way Dr. Lee was going to ask this guest to come into his office when he was not there.
She wanted to go after the guest, but then she decided to let him be, seeing that it was Dr. Lee himself, who invited him into the office. It meant that he was in there. Maybe he had returned when she went to use the restroom, and she did not know about it.
She sat there as she held the phone in her hands, and she pushed her headphones, staring constantly in the direction of Dr. Lee's office.
Mr. Smith smiled at himself as he maneuvered the check that the secretary wanted to conduct on him and was on his way to see Dr. Lee in his office.
He knew that a person of this nature was not going to meet anyone without approving the appointments, and that was why he needed to play him like that and get his way into the office, especially because his intention with Dr. Lee was not a very good one.
His plan was to go there and confirm as much as Dr. Lee knows about the secret order of the night and then eliminates him if he has to.
However, as he approached the office, he was confused because the particular door that the secretary had described as Dr. Lee's office was locked. He stared at the two doors in that space and noticed that both of them were locked.
He tried to open them, but they were locked from the outside, and the keys were not with him, which made it impossible for him to enter into the office. And that only meant one thing, and that's the fact that Dr. Lee was not in his office.
It was at that moment Mr. Smith realized he had messed up big time. He was worried about how he was going to walk out there and told the secretary that the doctor was not in his office when he had already lied that he spoke to the doctor on the phone, and he had expected him to come directly into his office.
He stood there for a while thinking of the best way to exit that place; he was already beginning to sweat. Smith was thinking hard, and when he realized that there was no other way but to walk out of the office and feign ignorance, he decided to go.
As he stepped into the corridor, he was staring at the secretary, who he could see from there, and her gaze was fixed on her phone, but sometimes she would lift her head to look in that direction.
She must have realized that Dr. Lee was not in, and she was waiting for him to come out and give her his excuse for going in there.
"I can't let her see me," he muttered to himself with a tone of frustration as he stood there in that corner staring at her, and just when she turned her head back at her phone, he slipped away, walking at a fast pace towards the exit.
As he walked out of the hospital, he was expecting that someone was going to call his attention back and question him, but when he did not hear anyone's voice until he came out on the road, he felt relieved and went into his car. His car was parked a short distance away from the hospital, and he had done that so that he was going to escape should he have hurt Dr. Lee.
The secretary had waited for a long time and did not see him come out, so she decided to go there and check on him. She also wanted to confirm if her boss was back, and she was not aware. When she got there, she realized that the place was locked and there was no one there, not even the guest who she saw walking to that place.
She was beginning to feel scared as she wondered how she was missing seeing people that day. Firstly, her boss was back, and she did not know about it, and now the guest that came to see her boss left, and she did not really know about it.
She held her hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming, and she immediately ran away from there back to her desk, trying to calm herself down from the horror that she had just experienced.
As she sat there for a long time, she was confused about what to do and decided to put a call across to Dr. Lee, but she called him several times, and he did not take his calls.
Meanwhile, Mr. Smith was feeling disappointed as his mission was not even close to being accomplished. He had woken up quite early that morning for that assignment, and it pained him so much to see that it was not fruitful.
Slowly he walked over to the camera he had planted in Sophia's house to see her activities.
