Chapter 39 - 3, 2, 1... And We're Live On Interdimensional Broadcast Now!

"Hey boss, how're you doing now...?"

Skipping beside Shinji was Himiko, arms crossed behind her back. With her signature 'innocent' smile (no it was not, it looked like as if Hannibal Lector had changed genders... or possibly genres, I dunno...), she asked what was on the minds of both girls:

Why was he frowning?

But today, her everlasting cute smile had finally met its match, because for the first time, someone skipped over it. Pouting in anger, she tried again, only to shut her mouth after feeling an intimidating presence behind her. Guilliman stood 2 feet away, his silent presence reminding her to keep her mouth shut. Gulping, the dropout quietly shuffled to Stelle, who was busy swinging her bat absentmindedly.

"Hey, why didn't you back me up!? I thought we were besties for life!?"

Chewing her durian-flavoured gum, Stelle walked atop the curb, whistling nonchalantly. "Who said anything? I didn't. No sirree..."

"Traitor...!"

As the girls began bickering at the 'apparent' betrayal, Stelle remembered something very important:

"Hey, didn't Setsukone say we could broadcast our adventures live now? I heard if we did so, we'd get some pretty pennies..."

This woke up Shinji from his umpteenth stupor. "This is not fun and games you al– no, stop it. Stop giving me the puppy eyes...urgh, fine..."

Slapping himself on his face, Shinji decided that he would follow the whims of the younglings. As the duo high-fived each other at the successful(?) operation, Guilliman merely raised an eye. "Seems to me that despite being a near-omnipotent level being, you so-called tier-8 reality bender, you still harbour some semblance of humanity, unlike my Father, the so-called 'God Emperor of Mankind'..."

Sighing wistfully, Guiiliman's hands crept towards The Emperor's Sword, remembering the last time he felt his Father's humanity...

"To be honest, brother, I'd rather wish to be a weak, powerless human than to have all the power in the world..."

Smiling wistfully, Shinji tapped the system's broadcast button. "Now tell me, how should we play...?"

As he pressed the button, all the members of the group, whether they were in the battle or in bed, immediately stopped what they were doing. Without any hesitation, they dropped whatever they had in their hands, and looked at the floating screens before them...

Aboard the Gloriana class Battleship, Glory Of Macragge...

"Lord Calgar, look at this holographic screen being projected into the air.! Is this some sort of new devilry created by those heretic Dark Mechanicum Tech-Priests!?"

"No, Captain Titus, this is an unknown power, for no Chaos God dare project the image of Lord Roboute Guilliman, the Avenging Son of the Emperor..."

Inside an abandoned building in Fujisaki, Japan...

The League of Villains (minus Himiko) gathered around a floating screen. Poking his finger through it, Spinner grew quizzical at the strange sight before him:

"Hey Tomura, d'you think it might have something to do with little Himiko ornament shit?"

As all the while Himiko did a quirky dance in a corner of the road...

Inside the main lounge of the Astral Express...

"Hey, look, Dan Heng! Look, it's Stelle– dang it, stop eating trash!"

Standing up from her sofa, March began berating the screen, forgetting that the raccoon behind could not hear her. As Himeko and Pom-Pom tried calming her down, a lonely Welt could be seen wistfully reminiscing about something, something that must've been triggered by the screen before them, as Dan Heng noted...
