Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Collision of Counterfeits

"Do monsters feel pain?"

Vincent, clad in female armor, asked expressionlessly, his feet pressing down on Abomination's raised arms. His hands, gripping the retro longsword, pushed downwards with force, making the patterned blade sink deeper into Abomination's eye socket!

"ROAR!!"

His right eye directly pierced, Abomination, wracked with splitting headache, couldn't help but let out a pained shriek. He finally released the Spider-Woman he was gripping with both hands.

Seeing Spider-Woman about to fall onto the ruined ground, Vincent, with lightning speed, pulled out his longsword, causing scorching, foul-smelling green blood to gush out. He reached back with his left hand, hugged Spider-Woman's slender waist, and fled at top speed towards the smoke-filled outskirts of the city!

After he and Spider-Woman had rushed dozens of meters away, behind him, Abomination, standing in place and clutching his endlessly bleeding right eye socket, roared skyward like a volcano erupting!

The sharp, terrifying roar almost formed an actual sound wave, causing the air in a hundred-meter radius to ripple. The burning flames even retreated in fear from Abomination's immediate area. Countless glass objects were shattered by the buzzing sound waves, and abandoned cars parked on the road all blared their horns in warning!

The injured Abomination was truly enraged this time!

Vincent, carrying Spider-Woman, hadn't even escaped a hundred meters when he felt something whistling towards them from behind. He looked back to see a military four-wheel-drive vehicle, flying wildly through the city's night sky!

No, not just one!

Besides the military four-wheel-drive vehicle thrown by Abomination, there were also taxis, vans, and even a huge, long bus!

Four or five cars descended like meteors from the sky, carrying immense impact.

Vincent, holding Spider-Woman and carrying the longsword, leaped forward at extreme speed, dodging one car after another.

The cars that missed crashed to the ground with a roar, sending sparks flying and debris scattering, finally exploding into fireballs!

He narrowly avoided a third van that rolled past his shoulder, but the space available for Vincent to move was severely restricted. Before he could catch his breath, the bus, continuously blaring its warning horn, followed close behind!

The huge shadow cast by the bus first enveloped Vincent and Spider-Woman. This time, there was no escaping!

At this instant.

Vincent, guided by divinity, was unnervingly calm. Holding Spider-Woman with one hand, he abruptly stopped, his braking feet plowing two tracks in the ground. Turning to face the bus crashing down, Vincent took a deep breath and swung the retro longsword in his right hand forward with all his might!

WHOOSH!!

Air, smoke, dust, fire… everything within three meters in front of him was cut in half!

The bus was also cut in half by Vincent's sword, its body breaking into two sections down the middle, the metal at the cut edges as smooth as a mirror. The two halves of the bus continued to roll past him on either side, transforming into two piles of flaming scrap metal.

"Phew." Vincent's hand, gripping the retro longsword, trembled slightly. He had just exhaled a mouthful of hot, turbid air when a green figure landed close behind him without warning, and the surrounding ground instantly caved in under the immense pressure!

It was Abomination!

Vincent's silver eyes narrowed slightly. He immediately realized that throwing cars earlier was merely a tactic to conceal his own movements!

He had still underestimated Abomination!

Despite his injured right eye and extreme rage, the opponent had abandoned his previous recklessness and employed a combat strategy that even ordinary people wouldn't use!

Abomination's face was twisted and ferocious. As he landed, he punched Vincent in the back!

The air exploded, and the wind pressure was chaotic.

The retro longsword in his hand flew out and pinned itself to the ground. Vincent, along with Spider-Woman whom he was holding, was heavily sent flying by the punch. After soaring twenty to thirty meters through the air, he crashed through an outer wall and entered a building.

"Cough cough." Vincent coughed a few times and got up from the ground, holding Spider-Woman tightly in his arms, having used his own body to absorb the impact.

He only felt his internal qi and blood churning, yet despite Abomination's skyscraper-collapsing punch, he didn't have many obvious injuries.

Vincent seemed to recall something, reaching back to take off the retro round shield he had been carrying on his back. Subtle energy ripples subtly flowed across the dark-gold round shield, then quickly dimmed and became still. The unknown material and patterned shield surface showed no signs of damage.

"It's this shield." Vincent's eyes lit up. He had almost forgotten about this shield he'd brought from home.

Since the sometimes-visible, sometimes-invisible golden rope contained extraordinary power, able to freely extend, retract, and manifest, capable of ensnaring any tangible or intangible object. And the retro longsword was incredibly sharp, easily cutting through objects including metal.

Then, this shield naturally wasn't an ordinary shield either! Now, enduring and deflecting Abomination's punch had just proven its extraordinary nature!

Besides that, the remaining combat boots and bracelets might also have hidden supernatural abilities!

"Am I completely geared up with divine equipment?" Vincent muttered, finally realizing something.

Now, escaping with someone was no longer realistic.

And to defeat the fake Hulk, he, this fake goddess, must unleash the full potential of her equipped weapons!

"You, don't come near me!"

At this moment, inside the building where Vincent had been struck and crashed, in a dark corner of the second-floor hall, a man in a U.S. military uniform was curled up on the ground, looking at the appearance of Vincent and Spider-Woman with extreme panic.

"Is that you?"

Vincent recognized him at a glance—it was indeed the American soldier who had almost been killed by Abomination. Perhaps because Abomination was rampaging in the area, the American soldier hadn't had time to escape and chose to hide here, waiting for troop support.

Vincent didn't think too much, placed Spider-Woman on the sofa, and said to the American soldier, "Take good care of her for me!"

The American soldier nodded frantically, glancing at the unconscious Spider-Woman on the sofa.

He then looked at Vincent, seeing Vincent holding the dark-gold round shield, turning and leaping out of the second-floor window!

The American soldier propped himself against the wall and got up, looking out the window. As his gaze followed Vincent's figure towards Abomination, his mouth involuntarily dropped open in astonishment, his worldview continuously collapsing and reforming.

After a moment of silence.

The American soldier once again turned on his communicator, reporting with a trembling voice: "Report, General, this is Zero front-line area, our forces have all been routed. Currently, You-Know-Who is fighting Abomination. Repeating communication, someone is fighting Abomination! 'Received, please respond!'"

The communicator crackled with static, possibly due to poor signal, and there was no reply.

On the streets where the ground and sky were burning.

Seeing Vincent appear, Abomination couldn't comprehend it for a moment.

Under its proud, invincible power, a full-force punch had actually failed to kill the opponent, or even severely injure him!

What Abomination found even more incomprehensible was that Vincent dared to take the initiative this time.

This was the greatest insult to it!

Abomination's furious roars echoed through the city's night sky again. It seemed to transform into the most primal, savage, and violent Beast, charging wildly at Vincent, heedless of everything else.

It no longer used any so-called intelligent schemes or tactics, as those were merely things relied upon by weak humans.

This invincible body, standing at the pinnacle of the biological pyramid, could transcend schemes, technology, and other such things!

This was Abomination's arrogant belief in its invincibility!

Vincent's charging speed grew faster and faster, his silver eyes cold and emotionless, like an ancient god revived.

Facing the impending clash with Abomination, he made only one move—

Shield bash!
