Chapter 1 - The Coffee That Stopped Time

Main Characters

Female Lead – Nova Quinn

> A 21-year-old college student working part-time at a small café. She's soft-spoken, kind, and independent — hiding her pain behind gentle smiles. Her parents' constant fights pushed her to live alone. She believes love is a fairytale… until she meets a man who turns her world into chaos.

Male Lead – Rafe DeLuca

> 26 years old. Cold, ruthless, dangerously charming. The heir to a powerful mafia empire. He doesn't believe in love — only loyalty and power. But when Aria accidentally crosses his path, something inside him shifts. He wants her — at first to hurt his enemy, but soon… to possess her.

Second Male Lead – Noah Arden

> 25 years old. A dedicated police officer who has been quietly watching Aria, protecting her without her knowing. He's everything Adrian isn't — safe, gentle, and real. But fate turns them into rivals — one fighting for her heart, the other for her soul.

The evening air outside the café was crisp, carrying the faint hum of the city. Inside, Nova Quinn moved gracefully between tables, her black apron tied neatly over a soft pink knee-length frock. She balanced trays with ease, her long hair catching the dim lights as she smiled politely at customers.

Noah Arden pushed open the door, exhaustion lining his sharp features. His police uniform was slightly wrinkled from the day's duty, but there was a calm authority in his presence. He walked to the counter and ordered a hot coffee, craving nothing more than a moment of warmth after the chaos of the streets.

The barista, a young man without much charm, handed him a cup. Noah took a sip, frowning instantly. The coffee was cold.

"Excuse me," he said, his voice low and firm, "I ordered a hot coffee."

Just as he prepared to complain, Nova stepped forward. Her eyes, warm yet focused, met his, and for a brief moment, Noah forgot how to speak. The world around him seemed to blur — all he could see was her.

"Sir, what happened?" she asked softly, tilting her head slightly.

Noah opened his mouth, but no words came. All he could do was stare, captivated by her gentle beauty, the effortless way she carried herself, the way her eyes held patience and kindness. His heart, usually steady and disciplined, thudded in an unfamiliar rhythm.

Finally, he managed a quiet, awkward reply. "No… nothing. The coffee is… very good."

Nova smiled, her lips curving in that small, innocent way that made the café feel warmer than it had all evening. She turned and returned to her work, leaving Noah frozen in place, unable to tear his eyes away.

Even after she disappeared behind the counter, his gaze lingered, drawn to her as if by some invisible force. The city outside could burn, the night could fall, and yet… all he could think about was Nova Quinn.
