Hitting himself repeatedly in the head Lumian grave his emotions . His eyes now grazed the battlefield .
At a distance two lifeless body lay . One of the Secretary and the other of Shauna . As if the duel had claimed both their lives .
Clanging sound came from another corner of the gargantuan hall . The ground there was covered in sand . The Manor Lord and Karl still fighting . Karl did not look in a good shape while the manor lord still looked up for battle only a somewhat disheveled .
A carcass of Sander also lay there . " So Sander wielded sand huh...quite an irony" Lumian said trying get a grip on his emotions .
Mustering up his legs with the Boots Of Pace , he fastened to Karl .
On his steady way , the shout of Karl came , bring me the scroll of madness and dodge his spikes .
Lumisn listened fastening his pace to Shauna's corpse .

He did know these humans were copies created by the Spell yet his human brain couldn't truly ignored them .
Shutting off his thoughts he picked up the bag containing and left in a quick pace .
Reaching Karl he was met with spikes launched from every corner they felt stifled as though the lord was low on soul essence .
Karl spoke in solemnity" He can use that Barrier Artifact to shield himself from our attacks . This item is my last resort .

Karl let out a shriek and raged toward the Lord .
What followed was brutal battle. Karl tore through the barrier , and after an relentless attack the lord finally fell .
Through this endeavor Lumian dodged the spikes launched by the lord and launched projectiles in retaliation focused on the lord .
As the Lord's body fell silent . Karl also fell silent , he picked the Lord's item that creates the barrier and used it, suddenly a energy emanated from it , as Lumian looked out , a clear cased barrier covering the wall of the settlement got shredded .
Karl spoke " Now's time time Lumian , kill me before I lose my rationality , there is not much time "
Lumian looked at the mangled body resembling Karl and spoke " What did that item do to you ? Weren't we just an hired mercenaries , why go such to such lengths as to sacrifice yourself ?
Karl spoke in a broken speech " As I did not have enough power myself I borrowed it , that scroll contained the corrupted power of the void , but by using it to gain tremendous power I'm also being corrupted , soon I'll turn fully into a corrupted creature .
As for the reason we did this ,' Wany' you might just here for money . But we are here for a purpose, we were no hired mercenaries , we were chosen ones , chosen by 'Him" .
We were nobody's with nothing left until "He " gave us hope , thus is just one of our many missions, though the one with most casualties, After I die you will continue for " His" purpose won't you .
Lumian fell silent for a second but questioned " Who is " He " you're referring to ? "
Karl spoke " A being with the mission to kill the gods , I Don't need to say anymore "
" Time is waining " Wany " come and kill me "
Lumian's reaction was swift , with a longsword he cut off Karl's neck .

So he was not yet a full nightmare creature huh...
Lumian went and grazed out the balcony if the Manor .
The Death Raiders came did the hill . What followed a massacre . Blood splattered everywhere . Soom a crimson hue enveloped the city, smoke rising to the sky .
The city was burning . The streets were bloodied red , the sun casted an orange hue , and fires shone in that Sun .
The world Painted a chaotic yet Beautiful picture .
Lumian thoughts had calmed down .
There were always two ways for the Nightmare to go , one for the city to be destroyed and the other for the city to be saved .
Destroying the city was far more easy and quick . So he chose this path . He did not know what fate the city had in reality . Whether it survived this raid or not , it would not have survived. the end of the world when the gods died .
As the space around him broke , he knew the Nightmare was over .

It turned out to be longer than I planned but I would make the forgotten shore a lot shorter. Most fanfics of shadow slave , if starting from the beginning Don't get past the forgotten shore arc , I'll make it pretty short , ( not compromising the fanfic story) and after that the real slice of life would begin .
