Chapter 4 - Chapter Four: Grace Through the Fire

"True love waits — not because it is weak, but because it trusts God's timing."

After Bright's proposal, life didn't suddenly turn into a fairy tale. The engagement ring shone on Adamma's finger, but reality still knocked on their door every morning.

Bright's new job at the tech company brought hope, but the pay was just enough to survive. Rent, family support, and daily expenses quickly swallowed his salary. Still, every night he whispered, "Thank You, Lord. This is better than yesterday."

Adamma continued teaching at her private school, saving a portion of her pay every month. She and Bright had made a pact — they wouldn't rush into marriage until they could stand on solid ground.

> "Love that hurries often stumbles," Adamma would say.

"But love that waits grows roots."

🌅 Building Together

Their courtship became a season of growth, discipline, and faith. They prayed together every dawn and worked long hours during the day. Weekends found them at the youth center, mentoring young couples about patience and purpose.

Sometimes, when Bright felt weary, Adamma reminded him with a playful smile,

"Even God took six days to create the world. Why are you trying to finish our life plan in one week?"

He laughed. "Because I'm impatient for forever."

She rolled her eyes. "Forever needs furniture, my dear."

They both burst out laughing.

🌧️ The Setbacks

Then came a sudden blow — Bright's father passed away after a brief illness. The pain hit him like a flood. Adamma was there, silently holding him through the nights when words failed.

"Adamma," he said one night, "you've carried me through storms I never imagined."

She replied gently, "We promised to walk through fire together. I'm not leaving when it gets hot."

Those words carved themselves into his heart.

Despite grief, Bright pressed on. He started a side business — designing websites for small companies. His passion grew, clients multiplied, and for the first time, he saw savings instead of struggle.

🌈 The Breakthrough

Two years after that prayer under the streetlight, Bright was promoted to IT Manager. Adamma's school also made her Head Teacher for her excellence and compassion.

Their finances improved. They rented a modest but lovely apartment and started planning their future seriously.

Bright told Luke one evening, "I think it's time. Not because I'm rich, but because I can now give her peace without panic."

Luke grinned. "Peace without panic — you're turning into a philosopher, my guy."

💍 The Wedding

The wedding was beautiful — simple, intimate, and soaked in gratitude. Their parents, friends, and church members gathered to witness what patience and faith had built.

As Adamma walked down the aisle, Bright's heart raced. She looked like the answer to every prayer he had ever whispered.

When she reached him, he leaned close and murmured, "We waited, and it was worth it."

She smiled, eyes glistening. "God makes everything beautiful in His time."

> "He has made everything beautiful in its time." — Ecclesiastes 3 : 11

Their vows were pure poetry — not just promises, but proofs of survival.

When the priest said, "You may now kiss the bride," Luke shouted from the crowd,

"Make it holy, but make it count!"

Everyone laughed, and even the priest chuckled. The joy in that small church could have lit the whole city.

That night, as Bright and Adamma sat together in their small but cozy home, he whispered,

"You know what, Beauty?"

"What?" she smiled.

"I think this is what heaven feels like — peace after the storm."

She leaned her head on his shoulder. "And this peace came with purpose."

They both laughed softly, the sound of two hearts that had finally come home.
