It all began when she passed the national trainer qualification exam at the age of nine. Despite her youth, she also cleared the entrance exam for the Tracen Academy, known to be even more difficult than the normal trainer exam. As a reincarnated individual, Viola carried knowledge from her previous life, was academically gifted, and precocious beyond her years. Most importantly, the trainer exam had no age restriction, allowing her to qualify.
However, despite passing the exam, she was shocked to learn she couldn't actually work as a trainer.
Due to labor laws, minors are prohibited from employment until the year they turn 15—typically the end of junior high school. While exceptions exist for light work starting at age 13 with special permission, Viola was too young for even that. And in the demanding world of training horse girls, there was no such thing as "light work."
Upon learning this, Viola was devastated.
As an orphan and a horse girl with poor stamina efficiency, she was constantly hungry—standard meals never satisfied her. She had hoped to earn an income, secure a stable life, and finally eat her fill. But with her plans crushed, she began walking home in despair.
That's when the school staff rushed to stop her.
Trainer shortages were a serious issue at Tracen Academy. Letting a prodigious talent like Viola slip away was unthinkable. The faculty agreed unanimously: they had to keep her. After all, she was a young trainer who could potentially serve for many years. Losing her would be a long-term blow.
But Viola didn't dream of becoming a trainer—she simply wanted to escape her current circumstances.
Given the legal restrictions, it would be five years before she could be officially hired. She might seek other ways to earn money, perhaps even start her own business. And once she found success elsewhere, her trainer qualifications—useless for now—might be forgotten. The academy risked losing her to another industry entirely.
So, they made a bold decision: they would do everything they could to keep her.
Fortunately, Viola didn't crave wealth. What she wanted was a stable, fulfilling life—especially one where she could eat enough. So the academy offered her a scholarship. As a "Lucky Girl," she was enrolled as a student with full support: food, clothing, and shelter. The promise of three full meals a day won her over.
And so, Viola Regina joined Tracen Academy as a scholarship student with trainer qualifications.
No one expected her to run. The academy's students were elite horse girls, raised with specialized education and training from a young age. Viola, an orphan with no known lineage, wasn't seen as a runner. She was valued for her intellect, not her legs—and she understood that.
But fate has a way of changing things.
It wouldn't be long before Viola encountered someone who would alter her path forever.
