Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Dealing with Natural and Supernatural Problems

Peter's POV:

I've been on this Quinjet for about an hour, and I already wish I could cut the trip short and take a wild exit-even if we're a kilometer (about 3,000 feet) up.

'I'd survive anyway' I think, going back to what I've been doing for the past hour: trying to ignore everyone's eyes on me and get some sleep. Thankfully, the leather seats are ridiculously comfy, and I actually manage to drift off... until someone decides to interrupt me.

I hear the steady heartbeat and heavy footsteps of Frank moving toward me before he sits in the seat next to mine. His left arm on a sling.

"Hi, Frank," I say without opening my eyes, mentally checking where everyone else is.

Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, and Thor are in the Quinjet's med bay.

Captain America, Black Panther, and Iron Man are up in the command section, with Vision piloting the jet.

"Listen... thanks for the save back there. If you hadn't warned us, we'd have been sitting ducks," Frank says in his usual gruff, Punisher-style apology.

"Heh. Couldn't exactly let a bunch of wannabe vampires kill everyone, could I?" I reply, smirking slightly.

Before Frank can respond, I jump to my feet as a familiar scent hits my nose.

'Someone got bitten! I realize. Damn it-I forgot!' T'Challa is kind of a sleeper agent for the vampires; the only thing keeping the curse from fully taking over is the blessing of Bast.

My sudden movement draws a surprised look from Frank, but he also tenses up the moment he sees my expression.

"Frank, you got your guns?" I ask while drawing my sword from my inventory and holding it at my side.

"Always," he replies, pulling a pistol from his holster.

"Someone's been bitten-and by the smell, they're about to fully turn!" I tell him, moving deeper into the Quinjet with Frank following close behind.

I head straight for the cockpit. Vision is at the controls, while Captain America, an armorless Iron Man, and T'Challa-helmet off-are mid-conversation about what to do.

I whistle sharply.

Tony turns, annoyed. "What do you want, webhead-"

I ignore him and vamp forward at T'Challa.

He dodges my first tackle-his reflexes are impressive-but I'm faster.

I throw my sword like a spear, cutting through the air toward his head. He jerks to the side to dodge it-but that leaves him open to my next move: a Superman punch straight to the jaw. I grab him by the neck and land two more blows for good measure.

Swish!

Something cuts through the air behind me. I sidestep and catch it before it can hit me.

Hey! Captain Shield is very well balanced!

I glance back-Captain America, Iron Man, and Vision are about to attack.

BANG!

Frank fires into the ceiling, freezing everyone in place.

"All right, everyone settle down!" he barks. "Hey, kid! Is he bitten?"

All eyes turn to me. I examine T'Challa's neck and spot two small puncture wounds just above his vibranium suit.

"Yes," I confirm grimly. "His healing factor's fighting it, but it's losing. He was about to turn any second."

I tilt his head to the side, showing the bite marks to everyone. Then I toss Cap's shield back to him, and everyone powers down, lowering their guard.

I lay T'Challa's unconscious body on the floor. Vision steps forward, handcuffs him, and carries him to the holding bay.

'Vibranium cuffs, huh? Nice!' I think as Vision leaves.

When I turn back, Cap, Tony, and Frank are all looking at me. Frank gives me a respectful nod, while the other two stare in a mix of surprise and wariness.

'Oh! right... I fought these guys before when I went to get MJ back. Even stole Cap's shield and use to hit him with it....not gonna handle that right now.'

I just give them a thumbs-up and walk out of the cockpit.

'Do they have showers here?' I wonder, heading down the corridor.

'Quarantine showers... good enough.' I lock myself inside one, strip off my dirty clothes, and step under the hot water.

After six hours covered in grime and dried vampire blood, the hot water feels divine.

I scrub myself clean-blood's great to drink but a drag to wash off-and rinse the filth from my hair. I stay there, letting the water pour over me, probably for half an hour.

Once done, I dry off, reluctantly put my damaged, dirty clothes back on, and head back to the passenger area. I drop into one of those amazing leather seats again.

'System!' I call out mentally.

[Urgent Mission Completed:]

Rescue the Avengers

Due to the user's disruptive actions, vampire forces decided to exterminate the Avengers and other heroes, believing them responsible for the 200 slain vampires.

[Reward: Random Gold Box]

[Open Rewards: Y/N]

'Yes!'

[Uchigatana - (Dark Souls)]

I feel my muscles tense for a moment as knowledge floods into my mind - footwork, special techniques, and the precise movements of the Mishima Karate style. My Way of the Spider suddenly feels like child's play in comparison.

'You can always count on Buddhist monks to invent a martial art designed to exterminate demons' I think, already planning to practice as soon as I get the chance.

"Status!" I command.

[STATUS]

[$10,000 (USD)]

[Kubikiribōchō (Executioner's Blade)]

[Flask of Crimson Tears]

[Agent 47's Silverballers (.45 Pistols)]

[Uchigatana (Dark Souls)]

"Holy fuck," I mutter in shock as I read through the updates-especially my species.

'My race changed? Both vampire and hemomancer?' I'd assumed I'd just be a vampire with some blood powers, but this... this is better.

I start examining my new weapons-especially the swords. My hand rests on the Kubikiribōchō.

"Holy fuck! It's bigger than me!" I say, and can't help but sigh in relief that I'm alone - explaining that pulling a huge-ass sword out of thin air would be hard to justify. It's heavy, easily 30 kg, and Zabuza used it with a single arm.

I take a few small swings and feel how sharp it is; the air itself whispers away where the blade passes, even on weak swings.

I put it back in my inventory and squash the urge to test it on some random vampire. I move on to the next item - I really need a long-range weapon.

I take out the Silverballers and a gun case appears in front of me. I unzip it and see two magnificent silver, silenced pistols with two silver magazines tucked in as extras.

I take one out of the case, loaded it and examine it closely

'It feels good in my hand - I can feel it. This will blow some vampires apart.' I sniff a scent coming from the bullets

'Silver!' With bullets made out of silver, the vampires aren't going to know what hit them and can't stop the smirk creeping across my face.

I remove the silencers from both pistols, drop them into the gun case, put the case back in my inventory, and tuck the guns into my coat.

"I'm almost Selene at this point - just missing a skin-tight leather suit," I joke to myself.

'Now for the two most powerful items' I think, taking out a vial that looks as if it's made of gold. It glows like a diamond and holds a scarlet liquid that smells incredible - far better than any blood I've ever drunk.

I feel my mouth water instantly, the urge to drink almost overwhelming-but I hold myself back. I have no idea if it can be replenished, and this thing is basically a drinkable healing factor, a literal lifesaver.

[Flask of Crimson Tears: A golden holy chalice once graced by a tear of life. It contains the Crimson Liquid of Life and Fire, capable of healing even mortal wounds and keeping death at bay.

To refill the flask, the host must pour in their own blood and heat it over a bonfire to complete the process.]

"Thank God," I sigh in relief. Having to build a bonfire is way easier than trying to find a Site of Grace-and I doubt something like that even exists here.

I raise the flask to my lips and take a slow sip. Instantly, the most heavenly flavor explodes on my tongue, followed by warmth flooding my entire body-like basking in the sun itself. My muscles, healed but sore from zipping across the city and from fighting those vampire Power Rangers rejects, finally loosen and relax. I feel ready to go again.

"Jesus Christ," I whisper in awe, staring at the vial in my hand. As tempting as it is to drink more, I tuck it safely back into my inventory.

'No way I'm letting anyone get close to this' I think, shifting my focus to the last piece of loot.

A black-sheathed, slightly curved sword materializes in my hand, about half my height in length. I draw it slowly, revealing a silver blade that gleams in the Quinjet's light. The reflection dances along its edge, and I can't help but admire the deadly beauty of the weapon in my grasp.

"I used to use you to cut Hollows in half" I remember using The Uchigatana on Dark Souls, back then it was a video game, here is fucking real life where the is a world invasion of Vampires

'But what is important is that you are made of Titanite, something that can kill monsters, demons and more importantly Gods back on Dark Souls, hope it works the same here, having a god killing weapon would make me sleep a lot better' I think while analyzing my new sword

I sheath it back and put back on my inventory and make myself confortable on my seat, still got a few hours until we get to the shield safe location

'A small nap wouldn't hurt' I made myself confortable and close my eyes, very unlikely for any sleep but I take what I can get.

2 Hours Later

Above S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters - Helicarrier

Peter's POV:

"How many times do you think the Helicarrier has to be attacked and crash before S.H.I.E.L.D. finally realizes that a flying battleship is a horrible fucking idea?" I ask Frank as we watch the Quinjet begin to land on top of the Helicarrier.

"Not enough, by the looks of it," he answers with a snort - which earns one from me as well.

We stay silent for a few moments. Even without my supernatural senses, I can tell Frank wants to ask something. The big guy was never known for being subtle.

"You can ask, Frank," I reassure him. He's not dumb - he's already noticed that I'm not using my webs that much anymore, can't climb walls, and that I've been slaughtering every vampire that crosses my path with blood red eyes and fangs.

"What happened to you, kid?" he asks, and I can see a small flicker of concern on his face.

"Being honest, Frank... the last twenty-four hours have been the craziest, most mind-fucking hours of my entire life. I kinda went off the deep end. I... checked myself out, Frank." Saying it out loud still sounds insane. I'm Peter Parker, no question about it - and yet, I killed myself. My life really did hit rock bottom, both times.

I hear Frank's breathing hitch when I say that. I give him a small, awkward smile.

"I died, Frank - and I mean really, really truly died. Not some coma-dream bullshit. I actually died. And the next thing I know, I'm back - sprawled on my apartment floor, the noose still hanging around my neck, with one of the vampires breaking down my door. The thing looked like a crackhead covered in dried blood, and you know what? All I could focus on was the blood on her.

Before I even realized it, I was already tearing into her neck, drinking her dry." I let a bit of my vampire face show - just the veins under my eyes.

Frank looks shocked and tense, but he doesn't pull a gun, so I guess he still has at least a little confidence in me.

I let the transformation fade and continue, giving him the slightly edited version of my story.

"Yeah... got pretty shocked myself. I'm a vampire now - or at least I look like one. Minus the blood-frenzied crackhead part, I think Frank that whatever is happening, whatever is causing the sun to be blocked and the vampires to go crazy is affecting much more then just the normal world Frank" Again I am kinda of twisting the truth, not exactly lying about that.

Frank just stares at me, He stays silent but I can see a bit shaken on his eyes.

"But hey! at least I got some powers out of it. I lost my spider powers a few weeks back, so I'm trying to look on the bright side." I give him a small thumbs-up, which earns a quick snort from him that he immediately shakes off. His face settles back into that serious Punisher look.

"Any problems or side effects since... you know?" he asks. Honestly, it's a good - and kind of necessary - question to ask someone who got turned into a vampire in the middle of a vampire invasion.

"No, surprisingly not many. I kinda expected the whole 'unquenchable thirst for blood' thing, but it's actually really mild. I drained some vampires on the streets and felt fine after and didn't even felt hunger for anybody human. The only real downside is that I'm way more emotional - like, really emotional." I explain my new experiences of vampirism to him. Honestly, the system's rewards have been a lifesaver to cull any weakness that I probably should be having .

"How emotional?" he asks with a raised eyebrow, a hint of disbelief in his tone at hearing that the only downside of being turned into a vamp is being more emotional.

"One vampire mentioned Octavius," I say quietly, "and I kinda of... ripped her head off."

I meet his eyes. "With my teeth."

His reaction is instant - pupils contract, heart beats like crazy, jaw clenches, hand twitches toward his holster on instinct before he forces it to relax. I can't really blame him.

"Yeah, pretty messed up. But I've got it under control. It's not exactly a Hulk-level anger issue; it's more like everything's enhanced - my senses, my strength, and my emotions. Like I used to love hotdogs before, now I feel like I want to only eat them for the rest of my life."

Frank's gaze stays on me for a long moment, studying my face like he's deciding whether I'm still human enough to trust. Then he grunts - low, thoughtful - and looks away.

'At least he didn't shoot me......yet!' I think while waching the Quinjet finally land with a soft thud on the Helicarrier

'I just hope it isn't Hill on Command, Please be Fury! Please be Fury!' I hope with all my being as that woman hate my guts, speciall after every that had happen during the Skrull Invasion and Civil War.....1 and 2.

"Commander Hill is requesting our presence on the command bridge" I hear Vision voice sounds from the cockpit as he informs the others

'FUUUUUUUUCK!'

<====================>

<====================>

"Put your hands on the air!" A bunch of Shield agents shouts with their guns pointed at me as I enter the command bridge, followed by Frank and The Avengers

"If I got a dollar everytime some sort of police force said that to me I would be richer than Stark by now, also.....It is starting to piss me off!" I mutter while raising my hands up as I don't want experience a shower of lead at the moment.....maybe later.

'Gotta stress test my healing factor later' I think with my hands up

A woman walks from the crowd of agents circling me, she is dressed on a regular blue agent suit, with a holder with two guns on each side, she looks at me with a cold look on her face

Maria Hill, former Fury second in command and currently Shield Director, who apparently also hate me for some reason

'And just like that How I Meet you Mother is ruined forever for me!' I think while looking at one of the most beautiul actress that I ever saw become a bitch before my eyes

"Peter Parker! you're under arrest on charges of public endangerment, theft, and more!" she barks, looking at me.

'Otto really done it. I remembered when he was me, He did a lot of shit wearing my face and later my attempts to get Mary Jane back didn't help a fucking bit, I still get suprise by it, I am basicly radioactive at this point' I think while keeping my hands up and staring at the bitch

"Are you aware that right now there's a world invasion of vampires and the sun is gone? Because I am! People are dying in the streets being torn apart by what until yesterday was only a mythological creatures and I think that have more predescen" I say in disbelief. To me, a world invasion should topple an arrest warrant, specially if I am helping stop it.

"SHIELD has everything under control! Agents, arrest this menace!" I don't know if it's her tone, her being a massive bitch or the word menace that Jonah always uses, but that right now just become my version of Winter Soldier Trigger Words, or all of the above, but I have to fight the urge to punch her head off.

Three agents move toward me while four others keep their guns aimed. The Avengers don't so much as flinch. Frank reaches for it, but I stop him with a nod. As they approach, a familiar scent invades my nose.

"SHIELD has everything under control Huh! MY FUCKING ASS!" I shout, spooking everyone but Frank. Before they can react, I vamp toward the bitch and clamp my hand on her neck, lifting her into the air.

"Listen! If anyone as much twitches a muscle, I will squeeze her head off!" I say, my voice low as I felt my 'True Face' come out, it's a bit weird warm feeling the blood runs to my eyes veins and my Fangs come out

Everyone freezes. The agents stop moving but keep their guns trained on me while the Avengers tense, ready to move, I guess my True Face is really shocking, Frank stands still, watching.

"You-urgh! Don't have the-urg-balls!" Hill rasps as I clutch her neck. I already see a bruise forming beneath my hand and her face becoming red; I can hear her heart hammering, pumping the delicious blood through her body.

I push down the urge to sink my fangs into her and drink - I need to make a point across.

"Oh, Hill. Things changed in the last twenty-four hours. Listen, I'll only say this once: I killed myself. I put a noose around my neck and did the deed, Hill. I was dead-fucking dead-and somehow I'm back in this hellhole. So let me be clear: I'm different. Very different. The good old friendly neighborhood Spidey is dead. He killed himself after his life descended into hell. His body was hijacked by his worst enemy and shoved into the trunk of his mind for more than a year while none of his close friends or family noticed. He killed himself to escape this hell, but I'm back and I will make my problems other people's problems. I've been killing vampires since yesterday. I've been ripping them apart with my hands HILL! SO DON'T FUCKING DOUBT ME! I can rip your head off, you fucking Bitch!" My shout sounded almost as growl, I guess I manage to get my point across by the gasp and scared face that Hill made I think it was when she open her mouth

My little confession hit the room like a nuke. I don't even need to turn to feel everyone staring at my back - especially Steve.

"Could it be?" I hear Steve whisper, a mix of wariness and disbelief. I refocus on Hill: she's nearly turning blue and her eyes are starting to roll.

I release her; she collapses to the floor, coughing and clutching her throat.

"You said SHIELD has everything under control! But I have a quick question: when did SHIELD start recruiting vampires as agents?" I ask in faux innocence and look at one of the trembling agents.

I can hear the vampires' slow heartbeats skip as my words land. Before anyone can fire, I vamp behind the nearest agent, whip out my new Silverballers, and level it at his head.

He feels the metal, freezes, then turns slightly so he can see me - a smile on his face.

"Bang!" I squeeze the trigger. The bullet tears through his skull; vampire blood sprays the room and the rest of his body turns to ash instantly.

I level both guns and start laying down lead. They didn't stand a chance. I'm faster, stronger, and these aren't just normal bullets - silver does work on them. My rounds hit them dead center, ripping holes clean through them before they crumble to ash on the floor.

Of the seven agents with Hill, only three remain - guns trembling, eyes wide. I look down at Hill with a mocking smirk; she stares at me in fear, surprise, and dawning realization after my impromptu vampire-killing session.

"SHIELD has everything under control huh? You might want to fix that, spare yourself future headache" I tell her, not bothering to hide my grin.

She keeps her gaze on the floor, avoiding my eyes, focused on the bloodstains and ash. I glance back at the Avengers: their faces are a mix of wariness and surprise. I give them a small, casual wave - gun still in hand.

'Where's Fury when you need him?' I think as I move down the corridor.

"W-Where are you going?!" Hill croaks; her voice is rough and gaspy from my...'massage' around her neck.

"Well, since I've proven vampires have infiltrated this flying deathtrap under your nose, I'm going to kill the ones I find. Hill, be a dear and warn your subordinates not to shoot me while I'm cleaning up - it won't end well for anyone if they do. Also, the people in tights over there need medical help: Thor's got a stake through his head. Weird right? Godly beings are too OP" I say, nodding toward Thor's motionless form being carried by Vision - a huge purple metal stake driven through his skull.

"Wait, kid! I'm going with you!" Frank says as he makes his way toward me. His left arm is still broken, but I prefer him over anyone right now.

We start deeper into the aircraft, my senses guiding me to any vampire I can smell or hear. Spending almost a full day killing these fuckers made me very good at identifying them. Before we go any further, I stop Frank and take out the Flask of Crimson Tears.

Frank looks surprised that I produced something out of nowhere, but he shrugs and studies it.

"Drink. It's going to heal your arm. I got it from Doctor Strange sometime ago but never had the chance to use it, I've always had a good enough healing factor" I tell him, inventing a neat little lie. It's easier to say I picked up magical stuff from the Sorcerer Supreme than explain the can of worms that is my system.

He eyes the flask suspiciously, then takes a large gulp. Immediately his whole body relaxes; a small reddish-gold glow bursts from him for a second before fading. Frank posture straightens up, flexes his arm out of the sling - completely restored. Judging by how he's looking at it, it healed more than just a broken arm.

'Frank goes toe-to-toe with Batman on who gets more hurt when they go out to fight crime. The amount of damage he's taken might even outpace my Spider-Man days and I got beaten up a looooot' I think as I grab the flask back and look at it.

It's about three-quarters full, enough to drink incase of a boss battle

Frank gives me a grateful nod after feeling the aches of years of fighting away. I nod back, and we continue deeper into the massive aircraft.

'This is gonna take so fucking long.'

<====================>

<====================>

"Well... that was quick!" I say while sheating Red Rain on her scrab, aparently if Helicarrior looks big on the outside, as it houses several aircrafts but it has very small space with straight tunnel to human personnel move, which makes easy to pick any vampires hiding among them

I was basicly a bloodhound at this point, with Frank was even faster to weed them out

[Double Secret Mission Completed!]

They are Among Us:

Unearth all the Hidden Vampires on Shield Helicarrier

[Reward: Electro Bolt Plasmid (BioShock)]

Down with the B1tch:

Showcase the incompetence of Maria Hill as the Director of Shield to a Large Group of People

[Reward: Skill: X'zelzi'ohr Language (Marvel)]

"Yes!" I whisper to myself as I see a red vial with a huge seringe on the point appear at my Inventory

'Fuck Can't wait to use this, can't inject it right now, this entire flying deathtrap is bugged to hell' I think in annoyence

'System what is the second rewards, What the hell is that Language?' I ask my system as I don't have a clue about that reward, I only know that is 'local'

[Skill: X'zelzi'ohr Language (Marvel):

It's the universal Language of The Marvel universe, very similar to All-Speak, it allows the User to be understable for any being in the Universe and Understand every language like it's his own native tongue, basicly All-Speak with extra steps]

"Fuck!....That's nice, Basicly a discount and very poor man Thor over here." I say with a small smirk

"Are done talking to yourself ? Hill is calling for a meeting on the deck!" Frank interrupts mine ramblings with my system

"Frank do I...sound weird to you?" I ask him as if its similar to the All-Speak I really hope I don't sound like Thor and his Accent

"No"

"Okay...just asking" I really hope this is working or I just got something useless

As we make our way back to the helicarrier command bridge, we pass through several agents and workers on the way, all looking at us with fear and wariness on their faces. Well, I would be the first to admit that we look downright scary.

The Punisher and a dude with a sword stained with blood were going around killing people that they knew; at least Hill managed to sound out the warning so that they didn't shoot us while we were 'cleaning up'.

After a few minutes of walking, we finally reach the command bridge, where standing there is Hill with a hand-sized bruise around her throat. She doesn't look at me. The captain is standing next to her with his shield in hand, reading something on a small tablet. Iron Man and Vision are sitting while working on some holograms displaying a lot of information on the oval table in the middle.

Victims' percentages and some contingencies that they are implementing

Surprisingly, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch are here as well. both got pretty banged up at the ambush, specialy Black Widow, but hey, good for her, and unsurprisingly she is looking at me with focus on her face. I mentally fist bump myself for at least dating a Scarlett Johansson, even if it's a Russian (Soviet) assassin, old as fuck version of her at the moment that she was amnesic.

We enter, and the room is quiet even more as I can feel their gazes on me.... Yeah.

'Awkaaaard! and worrying at the same time'

"Sooo where's Thor?" I try to break the ice as Frank and I sit on the chairs across them

"He's still in the infirmary; the doctors decide to not remove the stake until they can get in touch with a neurological specialist." Natasha answers me, her voice sounding measured and calm, as if she were not talking about her teammate who is impaled with a metal stake through the head.

"A sound and reasonable thing to do if you are not dealing with a magical species of aliens who are also gods, especially not an Aesir/Elder God hybrid that is blessed by the Phoenix Force." I say before jumping to my feet.

"Just a minute! Going to grab him!" I left before they could stop me, but by the time they started to get up, I was already outside the room, vamping straight to the infirmary.

The door slides open, and lying on a gurney is the God of Thunder and current King of Asgard and New All-Father with a purple metal stake shoved into his skull, with a row of perplexed doctors and nurses around him

Thump-Thump! Thump-Thump!

'Asgardians are so fucking OP.' I think while listening to Thor steady hearbeat, as if a metal stake to the head was more like a inconvineice that anything else, Ignoring the shouting and panicked doctors, I grip the stake and pull it out in one go, immediately putting it on inventory for safekeeping.

'It's not every day you get access to God Blood and something that can hurt Thor!'

"Come on, buddy, you're not going to die because of a piece of metal; that would be stupid," I say as I watch the wound on Thor's head heal like it was just a scratch and not a straight hole direct to the brain.

I could hear the Avengers making their way here fast, and I could also hear Thor's heart and breathing become even stronger, and just as the doors slide open, Thor wakes up with a roar, his veins bulging with anger in his eyes, and he isn't seeing friends at the moment thanks to his berserker rage.

I grab a bottle of ethyl alcohol, crack it open and put it right at Thor's face, under his nose, and see the wild rage fading from Thor's eyes as he smells the alcohol.

'Asgardians, the Alcoholics of the Galaxy' I think in amusemeant

"Hey buddy, welcome back! How was the sleep? Good? Now get up; we need to talk." I give him the bottle and turn to the flabbergasted heroes.

"So, can we get to that debriefing now? because things are only getting worse down there" I say to them

<====================>

<====================>

"The number of attacks around the world are only rising now that we know that they are using the portals as a means of transport and that Blade is a double agent-"

"Possessed," I interrupt Hill's debriefing with a hologram displaying varying graphics about the attacks.

"What?" She says in surprise at my interruption, and I have to not smirk at the undertone of fear in her voice and body.

I get up and move close to the hologram, ignoring Hill's heart speeding up in fear.

"Blade is currently being possessed by Varnae, the world's first vampire; he is currently wearing Blade as a flesh suit, and thanks to Blade being a dhampire, he is-"

"Immune to Sunlight!" Black Window completes my thoughts.

"Exactly! He is, but the rest of them are not, so he uses a spell that forces Darkforce users to leak darkness on the planet, bloating up the sun and allowing them to walk the street without becoming charcoal." I inform them about Varnae and his actions .

"But what is his endgame?" Steve asked me; he kept looking at me since the start of the meeting, but in his defense, all of them are.

"Some kind of ritual; the info I got from some vampires didn't tell me what it does, but it needs a God," I mention to Thor, who hardens his eyes, "and the Scarlet Witch as ingredients." Then I motion to Wanda, who also was gazing at me in surprise and a bit of curiosity in her eyes since I got here.

"And any ritual that requires both of those isn't good news." I finish my explanation and sit back down on my chair.

"We need to mobilize our forces and start building our defenses down there; innocents are being caught in the attacks," Steve says while rubbing his face.

After that they devolve into discussions and planning, but I kept thinking about something. I stopped Tchalla from being a double agent, and that might change things, especially...

"Did anybody hear from Doctor Strange?" I ask out loud, stopping everyone in place.

"No, we lost contact with the Sanctum since the start of the invasion." Iron Man says after a few moments

"Fuck! you guys do whatever you want; I'm getting down there! If you guys need my help, call!" I jump out of my seat and vamp away from the room while listening to their exclamations back there

'They manage to turn Strange into a vampire during the comic, but he manages to expel his own soul so that he would not be turned, but it's better not to risk it, especially with my meddling here. ' I stop right at the door to the outdoor plane bay and open it, seeing the come and going of quinjets and helicopters, the air is a bit more tight up here but I barely even felt right now

I walk to the edge of the helicarrier and look down, managing to make down there small parts of New York thorugh the heavy clouds, I can't hear the scream or smell the blood and fire down there but I can feel it, things only getting worse the longer this shitshow goes on

"Maximum Effort like Wade says" I Say to myself before taking a step fowards and let gravity take hold, plungnig me towards the ground

'I really hope my webs don't snap when I get down there'

New York City

Day 2 of The Blood Hunt

7:53 AM

Father Jakobs POV:

"Father Jakobs, is there any more water?" a small little girl asked the old priest while holding her mother's hand.

"Yes, Little One! Here, share it with your mother." The old priest passed a water bottle to the little girl.

"Thank you, Father!" The little girl thanked him with a small, timid smile on her face, which both the priest and her mother mirrored.

Sharing a nod with the young girl's mother, Father Jakobs walked back to the center of his church, which was now looking more like a refugee camp, with the old wooden benches being cut apart and sharpened by a few volunteers into stakes that every resident was now carrying.

In these quiet moments that sent Father Jakobs into the past, he remembered his childhood, his youth, and his adulthood. He would be the first to admit that he wasn't a saint, far from it. But he found his faith and made the choice to enter the priesthood.

He would never forget the day when the truth about the world was revealed to him. About what lurked in the night. He would also never forget the nightmares that followed over the next few weeks.

He dedicated himself to his studies about those creatures, earning high praise from his teachers and even a few cardinals.

He remembered when he was assigned to New York. At first, he didn't want to go, especially with all the craziness that seemed to happen throughout the city on a daily basis. But little by little, he started to love the city.

Then this catastrophe happened.

Innocents were being preyed upon by Satan's spawn on the streets. He tried to help as much as he could, but it would never be enough.

Until he came.

Jakobs recognized him the moment he saw him, even though he wasn't wearing his red and blue suit. The familiar sound of his web shooters was already enough to give him away.

He started bringing innocents here, person after person, anyone he could reach. He also helped barricade and reinforce the entrance with his webs, guaranteeing everyone's safety inside the church walls. He even brought supplies that they were in desperate need of.

He met the hero that every person in New York knew.

He never believed what that dreadful man on the newspapers used to say about Spider-Man. No one as self-sacrificing as Spider-Man could possibly be evil.

But saints rarely live happy lives.

He now had the opportunity to meet the man. He shook his hand and saw what kind of man Peter was.

...and his heart felt the young man's pain, but also his resolve, his confidence, and above all...

His goodness.

Peter—he almost snorted at the hero from Queens sharing his name with one of Christ's most well-known apostles—explained that something was happening and causing the spawn of Satan to attack God's flock, but that he and the other heroes were working to fix it.

He also asked Father Jakobs to get in contact with the Vatican if possible, as any help or assistance could prove advantageous.

Father Jakobs passed along the message, but still hadn't received a response.

The hours inside the church passed at a painstakingly slow pace. But with the crack of dawn, even beneath the covered sky, they could still see the light.

Thankfully, they hadn't had any more problems with the Cockroaches outside, but Father Jakobs feared that it would not last.

Meanwhile, Father Jakobs did what he did best.

He knelt down and prayed to the Lord.

He prayed for the people inside his church.

He prayed for the people still trapped outside.

And, above all, he prayed for Peter to be successful in his holy mission.

On the Other side of New York

Day 2 of The Blood Hunt

7:53 AM

Peter POV:

SWISH!

SLASH!

"When did you guys learn how to fly?!" I scream at the shrieking vampires as I cut them down while they dive at me, the bastards looking like a bunch of Rob Zombie animatronic rejects!

'They look like they mixed a goblin riddle with STDs and a heroin junkie,' I think while making quick work of them.

"They smell like it!" I mumble to myself, covering my mouth with one hand as the poor bastards transform into stinking ashes.

Turning away, I face forward. I'm just a few streets away from my objective, so I start swinging toward it.

123 Bleecker Street is where the Sanctum is. Also where a ton of shit is very probably waiting for me.

I land with a small thud right in front of the building and gaze at the magical structure. I don't know if it's my new vampiric senses or something else, but I can feel the building humming with what I can only describe as magic—and definitely not the hocus-pocus, Disney-friendly, family type of magic.

'The Sanctum is enchanted and protected against evil and dark creatures, which I kinda am right now, as TVD vampires are made with Dark Magic... Hopefully, it's not activated right now.'

I hope to myself, as getting dusted thanks to a magical security alarm is not the way I would like to go.

I walk to the door. No sound is coming from inside. Probably wouldn't be able to listen anyway.

"Time to test it."

I slowly put my hand on the massive oak door.

"Huh!" I exhale in relief when I don't get combusted and open the door.

SCREEECH!

"Help!"

If I wasn't a reincarnated/transmigrated vampire on a superhero world in the middle of a vampire invasion, the sight of a vampiric, monstrous version of Doctor Strange chasing a blue ethereal talking Basset Hound around on all fours would have shocked me.

...Lucky me.

I vamp toward the snarling Strange and tackle him to the ground.

"Hey, Stephen! Changed the look today? Touch of cracked murderhobo?" I joke a bit as I grab both of Strange's arms.

"WRAAAH!"

He tries to take a chunk out of my throat with his fangs, something that I really don't want.

I let go of his hands and shift my body to the right, narrowly missing the monstrous bite of doom. Before he can move, I return with a hook to his head, sending him back down, face-first this time.

And I don't stop there.

I lay punch after punch on him.

CRACK!

CRUNCH!

I'm pretty sure I hear and feel some of his bones breaking, but I'm holding back enough not to kill him outright. After I feel his movements stop and his undead heart slow even further, I stop my beatdown and look down at my victim.

His skin, which had become a very silver tone of pale after his transformation, was now covered in purple and green bruises thanks to my Hulk Massage. His red eyes were swollen shut, and one of his fangs was hanging loose.

'Nothing that a little magic can't fix... I hope so.'

I think to myself while looking at Strange's possessed body.

"S-Spider-Man?"

A small voice sounds behind me, making me turn.

I see Bats, Stephen's once-dog-turned-Ghost-Dog, a loyal little fella.

"Hey, Bats! Sorry for showing up uninvited, but this is kinda urgent. Where is Stephen? He doesn't sound like the type who would leave his possessed body around here."

I ask Bats, sitting next to Strange's beat-up body and immobilizing him with my webs.

"Stephen managed to expel his spirit before the vampirism took over him. He said that he was going to search for help from other magical users."

Bats runs toward me and starts explaining, his ghostly tail wagging around.

"All right! I think I know where he might have gone, but before that, do you know where we can stash this one? I'm sure Stephen is gonna want his body back when this is over."

I say while hoisting the unconscious, soulless vampire over my shoulder.

"Sure thing, Spider-Man! Follow me!"

Bats says and cheerfully makes his way deeper into the Sanctum, with me following the ghost dog until we reach what looks like an Egyptian sarcophagus.

"Put him inside, Spider-Man! The Sarcophagus of Konn will keep him safe and unable to leave."

Bats says, and I shrug.

"Whatever you say, Bats."

I pry the sarcophagus open, lay Stephen's body inside, and slide it closed. I feel a warm tingle in my mind as the sarcophagus glows golden before fading.

'Really gotta learn magic... Well, different types of magic. Being a Hemomancer means that I do have magic, at least a very specific kind.'

I think while watching the sarcophagus seal itself.

[Hidden Tie-In Mission Completed]

[Save Bats, the Ghost Hound, from the possessed body of Stephen Strange.]

[Rewards: Blessing of Zokka, Repair Powder]

[Blessing of Zokka: You are Blessed by the God Zokka, God of Dogs and Love. You are beloved and respected by all canines of all kinds, as well as having your sense of smell improved to Supernatural Levels.]

[Repair Powder: A bag full of golden powder that, when applied to a weapon, restores its durability and repairs any damage that it has sustained.]

"Wow... nice!"

I say while feeling the blessing enter my body and feeling my sense of smell, which was already great, expand even further.

My sense being supernatural could detect almost anything, but they were mostly focused on blood, like a shark. But now, it's different.

I feel the breezes of magic around me, the stench of Dark Magic coming from Stephen's vampiric body, and its contrast with the smell of clean, warm sand coming from the sarcophagus.

'Wait! What is that smell? It smells old, powerful, and warm. It's coating the sarcophagus and the entire Sanctum!'

...I can fucking smell magic now!

I marvel at my new power. Being able to detect magic is going to help me a lot, and having a fix for any weapon of mine is going to help me, not to mention that I won't have to say goodbye to any of my swords anytime soon.

Having something that can fix my weapons instantly is always welcome.

"Now, Bats! We need to find your master. Do you have any idea who he was going to meet?"

I ask, before trailing off.

"Uh... Bats?"

I look down and see the Ghost Basset Hound staring at me, his eyes sparkling.

'Oh, yeeeaah. The whole "loved and respected by all dogs." Hopefully, it's not that bad—'

"Oh, Marked by Zokka! I am not worthy of being in your presence!"

The Basset Hound speaks while bowing reverently, his long ears flat against the ground. If the fact that he was very short didn't already make him adorable enough...

"It's okay, Bats. In fact, I'm here to help you, Bats, as you have been a very Good Boy! And you have defended your master very well!"

I say, and for a fact, I'm not lying. I remember that in the comics, Bats managed to get in contact with the God of Dogs and became his avatar to stop Doctor Strange's possessed body. He even got called a good boy by his God.

It's like Jesus came down from Heaven and gave a bro hug.

'If Bats wasn't already a ghost, I'm pretty sure he would have a heart attack hearing this.'

I think while watching the small doggo's tail almost become a helicopter from how hard he is wagging it.

"Of course I will help you, Spider-Man! Stephen and Clea said something about visiting a green mage, but I didn't hear the rest as they left in a hurry."

Bats recalls, sending me into thought.

'Green Mage. The only one that comes to mind is Doctor Doom, which means they are in Latveria, and that Sorcerer Supreme Doom is going to come out to play.'

'Fuck. No way to stop that one. I don't know how to fly or teleport.'

'Fuck it. Let's focus on what I can do now!'

I plan before refocusing on the apocalypse at hand.

"Okay, they're probably very far away for me to get to them. Bats, can the Sanctum do something to help with the invasion? Could it be a refuge for anybody with a pulse?"

I ask the ghost dog, as out of the two of us, he is the more magically experienced one here.

"Yes! The Sanctum is configured to stop any evil creature from entering, and it is warded against them."

Bats informs me, and I nod at that.

"Okay. Time for a game plan. Save as many as I can, and fast! Let's do this!"

I say, mostly to myself, before fishing out the Electro Bolt Plasmid.

"What's that, Spider-Man?"

Bats asks me with a confused tilt of his head.

"Vitamin, little fella. A very strong one. Well... bottoms up!"

I turn the vial and aim the injector down on my arm and pushing in, inject myself

'Oh, well, it wasn't that bad—'

My body cuts me off as I feel a sharp, continuous feeling of electricity ripping through my chest and traveling to my right arm, feeling similar to getting hit by Electro during my glory days.

"Spider-Man! Are you okay?"

Bats asks in concern.

I feel the pain fade, being replaced by a feeling of energy coursing through me like a current. Weaker than the warm feeling of my blood magic, but there nonetheless.

I focus back and raise my left hand, seeing electric-blue veins on the back of my hand glowing.

With a bit of focus—

ZAP!

A bifurcated, small bolt of lightning leaves my hand and strikes the wood in front of me.

I look back at Bats, who looks bewildered at my little show-off.

"Never better!"

I say with a smirk on my face.
