Lana's friends were talking excitedly about a student's video playing some game called Block-Block. She was never interested in such things but found their level of excitement over such a thing interesting. What's so interesting about watching someone else play a game?
The group spent the day wandering around watching some events here and there. They were flabbergasted at the amount of reserved seating for factions and VIPs. They used this event to scout for new members. She wasn't interested in any of the events. She did watch some to hang out with her friends, though. She noted the time of Logan's event and decided to have a sandwich ready for him when he returned. He was an inventor. He would find no pleasure in participating in such a menial event. She would see him once he was eliminated this evening and wanted to refresh his brain cells. After all, it was because of him that Dobin was able to get new boots and she was in the good position she was in now. She was eternally grateful to him.
She left the others and went to her room to ensure the sandwich was fresh as he'd be up soon. The others would meet her in the lobby when she was done as they were getting snacks while she cooked. They wanted to experience the new flavors being offered at the event.
She let Caser sit on her shoulder while she was in her room. She kept him tucked in while among the public. She had not revealed him to anyone other than her friends. She justified it to herself that he was a baby and she didn't want to overexcite him.
As soon as the sandwich was done, she returned to the lobby, joining her friends to wait. She was then told the crowd of people that just walked away was Logan being hounded by a bunch of people. Apparently, he had chosen not to make anything but was challenged after he was disqualified. He then made a sword that was better than the person who challenged him was able to craft. Lana smirked when she heard that. The group then walked quickly to catch up with them. She finally noticed him among his friends after all the extra people walked away and stopped blocking her visibility. She walked up to him with a smile and presented her latest culinary masterpiece.
Logan smiled, "Lana, thank you! I wasn't expecting a sandwich today!"
Lana looked a little bashful with all the people around, "I didn't know if the food situation would be acceptable for you so I prepared enough sandwich bread ahead of time. I grew the food in my room with my pots. I am prepared to make you two a day as well as supplement my own team with the best fruits and vegetables anyone can grow," She grinned. "Oh, I LOVED what you did down there during your event! Your talents truly are wasted on such things."
"Thank you, Lana. Do you know Sam? He's friends with Quinn from another base. They met yesterday and invited him to hang out," Logan asked.
"It's nice to meet you, Sam." She noticed Layla and Cia were not there but didn't say anything. "Well, we should be finding a place to watch the event from. Dobin is out there today at some point," she chewed her lip a little.
"Dobin's out there? Oh right! With his earth ability." Logan said.
Lana nodded, "Yes, I was surprised he got chosen since you had a really strong fighter on your team as well. I hope he wins."
"Lana, why don't you and your friends watch the event from here? There's a spot for you right here in front of me," Vorden said.
Lana sat near Vorden and her friends found seats as well.
The ranged event was getting ready to start and they were all watching Layla. Before the countdown to start even ended, it was obvious she was being ganged up on and would not last long. Lana felt sorry for her. She didn't know Layla well but it wasn't right for that to happen.
Quinn and Vorden wanted to go meet her as she got off the elevator so all the friends including Lana went to meet her. When they found her, Layla was crying and Lana wanted to hug her but Quinn beat her to it. Lana couldn't hear what she said to Quinn but Quinn said "You have done nothing but help me." It made Lana smile. Cia then made herself known to everyone when she called out to Layla. Layla was clearly upset and told Cia to go away which hit Lana as strange. They had been tied at the hip for a few weeks. Vorden told her to go away. Cia ignored everyone and kept approaching Layla. Then Cia pointed at Fex and Quinn and said, "just remember I know your secret and his." Lana's blood started to boil. Vorden was in front of her before she could notice he moved with a chopstick to her throat and said, "I would like to see you just try telling anyone about that." Meanwhile, Fex was wiggling his fingers saying, "now why would you go and threaten us like that?"
The rest of Lana's team and Sam were dumbfounded because none of them knew anything about the history of these people. Lana could hear Layla talking but was too far away to hear. She didn't care anyway. Cia in her eyes was a monster. She touched Vorden inappropriately and now she threatened Quinn. She was seeing red and there was a serious internal fight going on. She told her friends to leave the scene, go back to the same spot. Her eyes never left Cia.
Cia didn't even notice her as far as she could tell. She was debating if she should destroy the nice floor and throw out some roots, throw a vine into her mouth to keep her quiet and do some of the things that were done in the basement of the orphanage to her. She never thought anyone would deserve that but she now was questioning it. Before she knew it, Quinn was calling her name and tapping her on the shoulder. Cia was lying on the floor. She could see that Cia was breathing. Under her breath she said "you were kind to her."
This startled Quinn, "how so?"
Lana did her best to regain her composure. "I saw her breathing."
"Do you know what I did?"
Lana shook her head, "I was too busy trying not to do what I was imagining."
Quinn nodded, "I assure you, I'm pretty sure what I just did was worse."
Lana nodded and dropped it there.
When they caught up to their friends, the fighting event had already started. There were only 3 fights still ongoing, one was Peter's. Dobin had easily won by knocking his opponent off the platform. Lana got the update from her friends while Quinn got updated off to the side by Layla. Quinn then walked up to the window and cheered Peter on. The screen showed Peter giving a thumbs up and before long the fight was over with Peter being the winner.
While Quinn walked up to the window. Layla had turned toward the friends. Layla noticed a hand that was moving under Lana's shirt. That hand was attached to an arm which was attached to Vorden. The two girls locked eyes after a few moments then Lana realized what was going on but wasn't quite sure what to say. Over the past week, Caser had been getting more mobile, wanting to move about but needed to stay warm as well. For now, they had been petting him while in the bra.
"Vorden, are you really that crazy that you're being a perve right here in front of everyone?" Layla glared at him.
