The hallway outside the Head of Department's office was louder than before. Students were everywhere and you could tell that everyone was in a rush. Many of them held their files and some were rushing to find the buildings for the registration.
I opened my file and checked the first page again for instruction. "FIRST STEP: Faculty Registration, Will Take Place On Ground Floor, Hall B."
Alright. Simple enough.
I walked toward the hall, and the noise doubled. People were lining up in front of long wooden tables covered with papers, stamps, laptops, and half-empty water bottles.
A woman in a blue vest kept shouting instructions like she had repeated them a million times and nobody was listening.
"All postgraduate students, join the line on the left! Do not stand on the undergraduate line! If you have missing documents, step aside!"
She glanced at me and pointed.
"That line. The one by the window."
"Thank you," I said before hurrying to join it.
