Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 "Voldemort? He's a coward."

The furnishings inside the Malfoy Manor were extremely luxurious, with expensive-looking furniture, a marble fireplace reflecting the firelight, gilded mirrors, a spacious foyer, various portraits hanging on the walls, and stone floors almost entirely covered with ornate carpets.

And since Draco was their only son, one could imagine how spoiled he was.

  Raising children is indeed a complex undertaking; raising magical creatures is much better. Look how obedient Norbert is;

even when asked to breathe red fire, he wouldn't dare mix any other colors. However, Cohen wasn't here to exchange parenting tips; he was there to sneak off to Azkaban.

Firstly, to visit relatives, and secondly, to ask Bellatrix about the permit to enter the vault.

Hufflepuff's cup was in the Lestrange family vault, and Voldemort's school diaries were in Malfoy Manor—this trip would be enough to consume two Horcruxes.

Therefore, when Lucius suggested that Draco accompany Cohen on a tour, Cohen immediately refused.

Only Lucius and Cohen remained in the study of Malfoy Manor.

"Let's skip the formalities and get down to business," Cohen said. "I'm in a hurry to get to Azkaban."

The Malfoys' soul strength was only twenty, normal wizarding level, easy to deal with.

  "Azkaban?" Lucius frowned.

Was this progressing a little too fast? Releasing the people of Azkaban in their first year?

What on earth had the Burke family created?!

But Lucius quickly realized he shouldn't interfere—just as one shouldn't pry into the Dark Lord's thoughts.

"Did you call me here because you have something to say or ask? I don't think Draco's one offense warrants so many apologies," Cohen said bluntly. "And you do have something you can do to help me—or rather, something you can do to help Voldemort."

Lucius turned pale when Cohen uttered Voldemort's name.

"The curse isn't working anymore. He told me himself—only when he's alive does the name break the spell and reveal his location, and now he's a ghost," Cohen said.

"Originally, I just wanted to invite you here, but after Draco came back from summer vacation… we heard some news…" Lucius said cautiously.

"Voldemort did try to steal the Philosopher's Stone and temporarily allied with me," Cohen said.

  "!"

  Lucius's breathing quickened.

"Is the Dark Lord coming back?"

"He failed. Didn't Draco tell you?" Cohen said disappointedly. "I even helped him so much, and in the end… sigh—" "I

have to say, he's a real coward. I even helped him get the Philosopher's Stone. The original plan was for him to cast an Avada Kedavra curse on me, then steal it himself, and the plan would have been perfect. He'd have a chance to be resurrected, and I could continue to be a good guy safely under Dumbledore's protection."

Cohen was extremely dissatisfied with Voldemort.

  "???"

  Avada Kedavra?

Is this something that allows you to "safely be a good person" after being hit by it?

But considering the rumors that the Burke family's artificial black magic experiments involved Dementors, it seems... quite reasonable?      "So the Dark Lord…" Lucius could no longer regard Cohen as some child who had wielded great power.

To cooperate with the Dark Lord and consciously use death to avoid suspicion was something a "child" couldn't possibly do.

"Dumbledore showed up, did nothing, and he ran away in fear," Cohen explained. "The Philosopher's Stone wasn't particularly useful to me. I wasn't going to die anyway, and after he ran away, I didn't really want to return it, so I swallowed it myself."

  "…"

Lucius really wanted to believe Cohen was exaggerating, but his information as a member of the school board proved that Cohen wasn't lying.

Nicolas Flamel had indeed come to Hogwarts, and Cohen had indeed survived the Killing Curse—and the Philosopher's Stone could only be used for immortality or to create gold, not to resurrect the dead.

Furthermore, he had heard that Nicolas Flamel planned to leave this world. What could possibly make someone who had lived for over six hundred years with the help of the Philosopher's Stone suddenly die?

The answer was undoubtedly that Cohen had swallowed the Philosopher's Stone, and Nicolas Flamel couldn't extract it.

"But he's a valuable partner; his influence in the wizarding world is very useful to me," Cohen continued. "Since the Philosopher's Stone route isn't working, we plan to find other methods. I also have a new objective this time."

"If there's anything we can do to help, the Malfoy family will naturally do everything in our power..." Lucius immediately agreed.

"Two things," Cohen said. "One is your diary. Voldemort said he left it with you for safekeeping."

"Yes, yes! Of course, I've been taking good care of it…"

  "And one more thing."

"A golden cup from the Lestrange vault," Cohen continued. "Voldemort needs both of these to resurrect himself, so he sent me to find it."

"The diary is with you, easy enough, but the golden cup is a bit more troublesome."

"Quirrell and Voldemort were discovered stealing the Philosopher's Stone from Gringotts, making Gringotts more cautious and preventing them from taking the quick routes."

"And the remaining two members of the Lestrange family are both imprisoned in Azkaban, so we can't get them to come forward." Cohen said slowly, "So I'll go to Azkaban and get proof of entry to the vault from Bellatrix or Rodolphus. You can help retrieve the golden cup."

"Don't worry, I'll talk to Voldemort afterwards. You'll get credit for this; he'll definitely forgive your previous betrayal," Cohen said with a "I'm not kidding" tone. (
