Chapter 22 - CHAPTER 22: Forgotten?

Vecer kept staring at Melinda mesmerized by the thought that he had really made a friend other than Viena. The Viena that always understood him and made him feel like he was the pin and she was the magnet attracting everyone. Expect no one seemed to pay much attention to her other than Vecer. This got Vecer thinking that he was the social one that can talk to anyone. But of course, this was all his delusional talk of how cool he was, in reality Melinda was actually the social one. Vecer was just the shy friend that attracted unwanted attention, or no attention at all. The type of kid that might give you your pencil when it falls. But they will forget you ever existed and will never talk to you again. "Melinda," he smiled feeling the warmth of his heart touching him all over his body.

'Damn it does she think that I'm an attention seeker why won't she answer me!' Vecer mused. But he kept his smile on acting like he was ready to say the next thing. He wasn't. He just felt like he needed to break the silence somehow before she thinks that he's boring and doesn't deserve to be her friend. of course these were just Vecer's delusions, it wasn't like she was really going to befriend him for not talking. After all he was just a shy guy trying to get a friend, he kept his strong interior all over his face showcasing confidence. The complete opposite of how he felt, "you know my parents used to always tell me that crying fixes nothing." Vecer now started slightly laughing, "they would always say like ya sure crying makes you express your emotions." He started grasping his hands together trying to remember what his parents had told him.

After all he had only been six when his parents died and he barley remembered anything, the only think helping him remember this was his extradentary memory. He now started talking again, "they would always say that after you cry you just feel upset and nothing really happens nothing really changes." Melinda gave a slight disgusted look at what Vecer had just said, but then quickly fixed her face when she caught him staring at her. But he only smiled and wiped a few little drops in his eyes, "I barley remember much but I also thought that this was absurd." He now inched in closed and whispered in her ears, "but now I know what they meant." Vecer pulled his self-back to see Melinda's reaction, but her face stayed put in the same way as if she was still listening to Vecer.

"Please tell me if you think this is so f*cking stupid because I appreciate honesty," he now had his head lowered prepared for the worst. In contrast to his fears though Melinda flinched slightly as if she was suddenly existing right at this moment. "I mean it is a little absurd I'm not gonna lie, but I'm not the type to judge." She sighed and lowered herself onto the ground, "people always used to think my life was perfect because they were quick to judge." She now had a serious look in her eyes, "I'm warning you right f*cking now if you act like that, I will hang you."

"Conner! I need some people over here these this huge minotaur that won't stop attacking us!" shouted Don. Conner slowly approached Don, he was supposed to be the powerful one. The popular one he should have been able to handle it, but yet he needed help from a measly well-known family as Conner's. Still though Conner didn't let arrogance overtake him for he knew this was a dangerous situation. And after all Don was just a kid, "gimme that," Conner pointed at the laser gun that Don was tightly grasping and still pointing at the minotaur. Don sighed handing over the gun, for he thought that Conner intended to kill him. "F*ck Sam," Don heard Conner utter, he would have normally been petty and told Sam that a lowly recruit was cussing him out. But he himself didn't like Sam anyway since Sam's family and his were competing for best and most powerful family.

Conner started smiling, like he had been waiting for a moment like this to be brought forth upon him. "Let's kill me a b*tch!" he shouted while aggressively pointing the laser gun in every direction passable. Still though the minotaur stayed put and appeared to scream now charging at Conner. Don made a run for it, 'typical Wixon kid,' Conner scoffed in his mind. The minotaur didn't scare him one bit, this is what he was recruited for. It wasn't a surprise that came along the way, one that didn't belong maybe. No Conner knew his place and his power, for a second, he thought maybe he should be competing for most powerful. He did seem to have all the qualifications; the minotaur came charging at Conner and knocks him out cold. Right before he passed out though Conner managed to shoot out one laser, but it didn't really help much. Don was already far away from Conner as if he knew this would happen, he would leave them all to deal with the minotaur. What a b*tch.

Vecer smiled accepting Melinda's warning, "you know you're really great, where were you in my life before?" Melinda giggled and Vecer felt happy, nothing like he felt with Viena. With Viena he felt like they were bros, but with Melinda it was a friend, not a girlfriend just a great friend. And that was one thing that Vecer really like about her, he really wished she was his friend before Viena was ever introduced to him. It was almost as if Viena was forgotten or not wanted anymore, there was a knock on the door and both Vecer and Melinda's faces turned pale. Was someone spying on them or did a person just come right at the moment?
