Chapter 325: The Power of Genesis

"The resonance has intensified," Akira's synthesized voice rang out in the intervals between thunderclaps. His massive body stood a short distance away, several sensor probes silently aimed at Spock, recording various physiological data and subtle changes in the surrounding energy field. "The instability of the Genesis energy field, especially the current violent ionization phenomenon, is directly interfering with his neuroendocrine system, amplifying the instinctive stress responses during the physiological maturation process."

Saavik had been quietly guarding and observing from the side. Now, she immediately stepped forward and knelt beside the young Spock.

Her expression remained calm, but her eyes were exceptionally focused.

"It is time," she stated peacefully, then extended her hands, gently pressing her fingertips against Spock's temples.

This was an ancient Vulcan gesture used for the preliminary guidance of mind-melding.

As if a switch had been flipped, the young Spock's body jerked violently, and his eyes snapped open!

In those dark Vulcan eyes, there was currently no familiar calmness or logic. There was only a chaotic, primal storm of emotion—confusion, pain, fear, and an indescribable, surging vitality.

He instinctively tried to break free, emitting a low, almost beast-like whimper from his throat.

Saavik did not retreat. Her fingers were steady as rocks, her gaze looking straight into those chaotic eyes.

She began chanting softly in Vulcan, her tone flat yet possessing a unique rhythm, like some kind of mind-soothing incantation, or like building a logical framework.

"Control your breathing," she said in clear Basic, her voice not loud, yet strangely piercing through the approaching thunder. "Sense the energy within you, but do not let it dominate you. I am Saavik. I am here to guide you."

The young Spock struggled, but under Saavik's steady words and touch, his resistance seemed to weaken slightly, though his breathing remained rapid and the chaos in his eyes had not yet subsided.

Saavik continued her work, using touch and a slight projection of mental energy to try and anchor a coordinate of rationality for him amidst that emotional storm.

Akira's crimson optical lenses completely recorded this scene.

His sensors not only captured every fluctuation in Spock's physiological indicators and the disturbance frequency of the surrounding energy field, but also recorded the acoustic wave patterns of Saavik's chanting and the faint yet distinct field changes emitted by her mental energy.

He even adjusted his recording mode, attempting to analyze the potential information transfer based on bioelectricity or more subtle levels during this guidance process.

He didn't make a sound. His massive body cast shifting shadows under the frequently flashing lightning, acting as a silent and omniscient observer.

To him, this was not merely the internal affair of a single race, but a rare opportunity to glimpse how a highly rational civilization utilized a unique knowledge system to intervene at the most vulnerable turning point of an individual's life.

The biological, neurological, and even sociological implications within this held immense research value.

Everyone else in the camp held their breath. Mann's squad vigilantly guarded the perimeter, while Kirk and Sarek nervously watched the guidance process.

Under Saavik's steady and rhythmic guidance, the frantic emotional storm in the young Spock's eyes gradually subsided.

His violently heaving chest slowly calmed down, and his rapid breathing became long and regular. Finally, his heavy eyelids closed, and his entire being fell into a deep, almost dormant silence. Only his steady breathing proved the continuation of his life.

The tense atmosphere in the camp immediately eased.

Kirk let out a long sigh of relief, and Ambassador Sarek's tightly clenched fists also slightly loosened. Although his face still bore no expression, the tense lines of his shoulders relaxed significantly.

The members of Mann's squad also slightly relaxed their gun-holding postures, but their vigilant gazes continued to scan the thunderstorm-ravaged night sky and the dark wilderness.

Akira's massive body approached, and his nimble probe arm once again conducted a comprehensive scan of the young Spock.

The sensors read the detailed vital sign data. The young Spock's heart rate was steady, and his brainwave activity had transitioned from the previous violent disorder to slow, coordinated dormancy waves. Although his metabolic rate was still higher than that of a normal adult Vulcan, it had stabilized, and there was no longer a risk of losing control.

The body's tissue structure had also basically completed the transition to an adult form. Indicators such as bone density and muscle strength had all reached mature standards.

"The physiological agitation has subsided," Akira's synthesized voice sounded in the gap between thunderclaps, announcing the results of his examination. "The peak growth period has passed, and the body's main systems have completed their adaptive adjustments.

"He is currently in a state of deep recovery to consolidate the physiological changes brought about by the forced growth."

He raised his mechanical head, his crimson optical lenses seemingly piercing through the shelter of the rock ledge, evaluating the still-violent external environment. "According to the environmental energy decay model predictions, and the physiological stabilization needs of the target individual, it is recommended to evacuate after dawn local time, when the planetary energy field activity further weakens.

"By then, the external environment's interference on the individual will be reduced to a minimum, and the transfer risk will be controllable."

This news thrilled everyone.

Not only had the hope of Spock's return greatly increased, but they were also about to leave this beautiful yet perilous planet.

Even the most rigorous scientist like Carol couldn't help but marvel at the almost miraculous power demonstrated by the "Genesis Project".

A burst of energy could reshape a dead planet into a vibrant world in such a short time, and even reverse death, granting a corpse a new life, even if the process was full of uncontrollable variables.

This ability to interfere with the fundamental laws of matter and life surpassed the scope of the vast majority of the Federation's current technology.

However, the ongoing evaluation within the logic core of Akira, standing off to the side, was far more profound and pragmatic.

His mechanically augmented mind quickly connected the "Genesis technology" with the harsh reality faced by the Imperium of Man in the Warhammer universe.

The Imperium's territory was vast, but habitable worlds truly suitable for human survival were always a scarce resource.

Countless worlds had been turned into barren deathscapes or radiation-filled wastelands amidst the flames of war, alien invasions, the corruption of Chaos, or simply through over-mining and industrial pollution.

It wasn't that the bureaucrats of the Senatorum Imperialis and the Adeptus Mechanicus of Mars couldn't see this problem, but under the endless pressure of war and survival, ecological restoration was usually prioritized behind weapon development and fleet maintenance.

But what if... what if they could master this "Genesis" technology?

Akira's database rapidly retrieved information on known star systems within the Imperium that had harsh environments but crucial strategic locations.

Transforming a dead planet into an ecological world capable of supporting fleet resupply and establishing frontline bases; or "resetting" a severely polluted, resource-depleted Hive World to restore its production capacity...

The strategic value within this was immense enough to alter the fate of an entire sector, and even affect the outcome of a crusade.

Admittedly, it appeared that this technology was currently unstable. The violent changes of the Genesis planet and the abnormal growth of Spock's body were clear proof.

The entropy increase effect brought about by forcibly compressing space-time and the uncontrollable decay of the energy field were both difficult problems that needed to be solved.

But Akira believed that relying on his Magos-level comprehension ability, combined with the Mechanicus's accumulated knowledge in energy manipulation and macroscopic engineering, plus the more fundamental scientific principles he might exchange from the Federation here, it was entirely possible for him to optimize and even solve these problems.

His thoughts went a step further.

The application prospects of this technology, which directly reconstructed matter and life forms, likely went far beyond ecological transformation.

It was just that currently, he still lacked a deep understanding of the core principles of the "Genesis technology" and could not accurately judge the boundaries of its potential.

However, the priority of acquiring this technology had quietly been elevated in his internal task list to a position equal to, or perhaps even higher than, the warp engine.
