Steve, flying through the air with Bucky, dared not go full speed. He feared Bucky's body couldn't withstand supersonic flight and would be torn apart.
Tony quickly caught up, stopping the two before they could leave. He hovered in front of them, expression cold:
"Steve, put him down. Bucky's fate wasn't meant for this day; he has to die."
A piercing, wild laugh full of disdain and mockery echoed back.
"Hahaha, just you, Tony Stark? Don't be arrogant. You think I'm still the same as before? As long as I'm here, you can't kill Bucky!"
Steve's eyes glinted with cold disdain. He had been reborn, stronger than ever, and looked at Tony as if he were a clown.
Tony, noticing the arrogant expression, smiled indifferently.
"Is that so, Steve? Always so confident, taking things for granted. But this time, I'll disappoint you. You and your 'good brother' can meet in your next lives."
Something clicked in Steve's mind. Calm Tony meant trouble. And then he saw it—a black remote control in Tony's hand.
"No!!!"
Steve's face twisted in despair as he roared.
"See you in your next life!"
Tony pressed the button gently.
In a flash, Bucky was blasted into a mist of blood. The crimson cloud exploded outward, dyeing the sky and Steve's body red.
"No!! No!!! Bucky! Bucky!!"
"Ah!! My brother! My brother!"
Steve screamed, head thrown back, blood-red tears streaming from his eyes. His last shred of warmth was gone.
"Tony Stark!! How dare you kill him?! You deserve to die! You must die!"
"I will kill you! Kill you! Kill you! Bucky, my brother, wait for me!"
"I'm going to get revenge right now—don't worry!!"
Steve's roar was like a demon crawling from the depths of hell—low, sinister, pure evil. He had completely broken. He had gone mad.
Steve fell into darkness, corrupted. His last light, his warm heart, swallowed by hatred.
The red wasn't just red anymore—it was a dark, vibrant red, like fire and blood mixed with shadows.
The dark-red Red Giant towered over the world. The sky itself seemed to darken.
Thump, thump, thump.
Steve had grown ten meters tall, black-and-red wings sprouting from his back, a full demon.
Leo felt the world itself shift. Mephisto, Lord of Hell, had appeared—or at least his avatar.
Why could he descend even after the Earth's space had been strengthened tenfold?
No—it wasn't Mephisto fully. It was his avatar, aided by the Time Variance Authority.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have enough aura to possess Steve and turn him into this demon.
"Haha, the heart of Earth is stubborn, but you trash can't truly resist me," Leo snorted, watching the demonic Steve beyond the void.
Dimensional demon gods always scheme against each other—they never truly cooperate.
Tony, on the scene, was paralyzed with fear.
The Red Giant was powerful, but still human-level. What was this? A demon?
Steve's low, guttural growl made all the hairs on Tony's body stand on end. Cold sweat dripped relentlessly.
F** you, Tony. You really screwed yourself over.*
F** you, Steve. What kind of super serum did you eat to become this terrifying?*
Seeing Steve crash toward him with mountain-like steps, Tony panicked.
"F***! Run! Run for your life!"
Jarvis immediately activated Tony's escape thrusters, focusing on leg and arm propulsion.
Tony had no desire to fight. With this demon Steve and his own simple equipment? That was death waiting to happen.
"Tony!!"
A deep, hoarse voice rumbled. Suppressed rage radiated from every syllable.
"You still want to run? You killed Bucky and think you can escape?"
"You can't escape. Obey death, coward. No one can save you!"
Whoosh!
Steve soared, wings augmenting his supersonic speed, improving both balance and maneuvering. He caught up to Tony in seconds.
The two streaked hundreds of kilometers in an instant. Tony, clever as ever, dove into the dense forest below.
Dense trees, rough terrain, and limited sight worked in his favor.
Jarvis helped with satellite scans; Tony's small size made him nearly invisible.
Steve, ten meters tall, would have needed a miracle to track him.
Tony succeeded. The massive demonic Steve was trapped in the forest.
Seeing Tony in his element, Steve's rage only grew.
"Tony! Tony! Think you can escape?"
Demonic Steve unleashed a ten-thousand-degree red heat ray, turning everything it touched into a sea of fire.
The forest was incinerated, leaving Tony with nowhere to hide.
"Heh heh, always running, huh?"
Demonic Steve enjoyed the chase. He wanted Tony to suffer mentally, to feel true fear before death.
"Run! Of course I'll run!"
Tony dodged and weaved, but this time he failed to escape.
Demonic Steve locked onto him, firing another high-temperature red beam.
Sizzle!
It grazed Tony's armor, narrowly missing him. The next moment, the beam struck again, overloading the suit.
Black smoke poured out as Tony plummeted into the forest.
