"Please Ronald, listen to me and put the gun down. I can explain, son." My mum's face was filled with panic as she pleaded.
"Well you better start talking, mum!" I yelled. "What kind of family is this? What on earth is happening here?"
My mum signaled to her old lover to sit inside as she stepped out, shut the door behind her and offered to follow us home, telling us want we want to know on the way.
Anna herself was still in total shock and was quite anxious to go home. Her face was still totally puzzled, finding it hard to understand reality. How can her mother who she's thought to be dead for over 11 years now be alive?
"I won't believe it until I see her." She muttered, tears rolling down her eyes.
I took one hand from the starring wheel to wipe her tears, without taking my eyes off the road for a second.
"She is, Anna." My mum replied with a low tone. I took a peep on the mirror to see her expression as she spoke and it was that of absolute remorse. She looked like she felt really sorry for whatever she did.
"I'm so sorry Anna. You might never forgive me for this but..." She stretched her hand from the rear sit and placed it on Anna's shoulder. "Your mum never died. Marco and I sent her to the asylum because she was mentally unstable. I personally didn't want you to relate with her in that condition—so we lied to you and told you she was dead."
Anna was quiet .
It still felt like a dream to her. Today Is a day she definitely would never forget in her entire life.
"I won't believe a thing till I see her." She finally uttered.

I barged into the house like a robber seeking a prey. I needed answers to the puzzles before me, so did Anna who followed suit as we headed to the visitors room where Dad and Shayla were.
I was stunned as my eyes fell on the woman whom I had a great time with last night—Aunty Alexa, Anna's mom.
She was all freshened up now and she looked exactly like Anna—An older version of Anna apparently.
She's still identical to my mother, the only difference was supposed to be their hair color, but apparently Aunt Alexa changed her hair color to that of my mums' it's quite obvious she's trying to impersonate her.
I can't even tell how I feel right now. Am I feeling a bit relieved because it's not my actual mom I slept with, or I'm I feeling absolutely ashamed as I have had sex with both a mother and a daughter. Or am I in actual fact feeling disgusted because I had sex with one whom my brain believed died many years ago.
My self dilemma was a bluff though compared to the rage of the two women before me;
"Alexa how dare you try to replace me on my anniversary night?" My mom ranted.
Alexa who was still trapped in Anna's embrace retorted, "Stop acting already!! How much more damage would you do to my home?!!" Tears escaped her eyes as she poured out her emotions through words. "How could you?" She snapped "You set me up and told the corps I was mentally unstable, you made them lock me up for over 11 years while you lied to my children and husband that you were me and that you were dead?!"
What?! my brain knocked off.
"Marco! don't tell me you believe what this psycho is saying." My mum rushed to my dad, trying to convince him, "I'm Alice, believe me!"
"Shut up!" My dad yelled and pushed her away.
"Dad? Wait! What's going on? that's your wife I can tell who my mum is regardless of their..."
"No Ronald, you don't get it." Shayla interrupted. "Yes you can tell who our mother is, but the person we've been calling mother all our lives is not our real mum." She waited a bit, so that would sink in my head. "Our real mother is Alice and that woman" She pointed her index finger to my mum, "Is Alexa!"
"What dah hell?! I don't understand." I snapped.
A part of me completely understood the fact before my eyes but I didn't want to accept it! Why would I even accept the fact that the woman I called mum all my life was actually my aunt and she was Anna's mother! And.... The woman I had sex with is my real mum????
Am I haunted??
"Since you want basics, here you go: Anna's mum is our mother and our mother is Anna's mom." Shayla explained generously.
my supposedly fake mum's knees buckled to the ground, her face wrapped up with guilt and remorse. My dad was still awestruck by the whole event unfolding before him. Anna on the other hand had broken out of her embrace with the real Alice, she was standing still, her pale face filled with tears as she stares at the demon who's supposedly her mother kneeling on the floor defeated.
"You are going to jail Alexa. Our parents must be ashamed of you." The real Alice spatted as she walked up to my dad who took her in a tight embrace, patting her head as she laid on his chest.
Goosebumps came all over my skin. That was the was woman I slept with in my father's arms. And she's supposedly my real mum?
I literally... I literally screwed the same hole from which I was birth?
I'm a freaking Curse. My heart is bleeding right now.
Shortly I met gaze with the wrong person—Shayla.
I'm still wondering why this bitch lied to me earlier about our dad being the cheater and why she stopped me from coming to check this room before leaving the house—She ought to explain.
Meanwhile, How does she even know these things she knows?
while I was still in my puzzled state, Shayla's expression changed from neutral to fierce. The intensity from her gaze said it all to me, she was ready to spill some of my secrets—and nothing in this world can stop her.
I had barely finished assuming when she confirmed my assumption, saying the words that totally ruined my reality the more.
"SINCE IT'S CONFESSION TIME, HOW ABOUT YOU TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE NUMBER OF ABORTIONS ANNA HAS COMMITTED FOR YOU, RONALD!"
Damn! Shayla has roasted me.
