Tonia's POV
The soft clicking of my laptop keys filled the quiet living room when a sharp knock interrupted my concentration. I wasn't expecting anyone, so my surprise was genuine when I opened the door to find Mr. Eden standing there with his characteristic smile.
"Ms. Tonia. Hope I'm not disturbing?"
"Not at all, Mr. Eden. Is there something you need?"
"Not exactly. Just wanted to confirm if you'll still be attending the party tonight."
The party. I had completely forgotten about it.
Initially, I had planned to go as a way to clear my head and escape the suffocating atmosphere that had settled over my life lately. But with Bradley's unexpected presence in my apartment, that plan no longer seemed feasible or wise.
"I'm afraid I've decided not to attend," I replied, forcing an apologetic smile.
