Kermit's POV

I froze in place, my hands instinctively threading through my hair as I gripped the strands hard enough to hurt. Every muscle in my body screamed for violence, but I forced myself to stay still. If I lost control now, innocent people would pay the price for my rage.

"Repeat what you just told me, Cheryl." My voice came out barely above a whisper.

"Alpha, I'm so sorry. One of our own guards betrayed us. She was someone we trusted completely. We never saw it coming until it was too late." Cheryl's sobs echoed through the phone. Her terror was palpable, and rightfully so. Because right now, I was fantasizing about all the ways I could make her suffer.

"How does someone release an unconscious prisoner? That's physically impossible given his condition."

"I know it sounds insane, Alpha, but she had assistance. A woman appeared out of nowhere and healed him completely within minutes. We believe she's a Siphon."
